Bit late to this party, but prudency chutes doesn't stop you from getting wrapped and all your stuff dying when the ship blows up, correct? Also would be very curious how he was getting everything in range turn 1, when the ironclad only moves 10 base. I've been struggling to get it working.
maybe I've missed it in previous vids or podcasts, but is there an episode where you've discussed your preferences for stronger flight stands for your boats? Like what you use to help keep them standing in-game, or during transport, and if you use 3rd party items or just a bit of brass rod?
Personally I go for a thin clear acrylic rod and leave it as a push fit so the boats can be removed from the base for transport. This works, but the model can rotate on the rod and the rod can flex a bit. It’s also not suitable for transporting in a magnet tray/box.
There’s a 3rd party option for a magnetic clear acrylic rod from a company called Magnet Baron. I don’t like these aesthetically myself as the rod is very thick, but it’s robust and a lot of people that have used them like them (and I must admit I haven’t tried it). I guess you would also have to remove it from the base for transport.
Brass rods will be stronger than acrylic, but more visible.
Another very viable alternative is just building a scenic base with multiple pinning locations which is durable and can be transported in a magnetic tray, but more work etc.
I'm a little confused about the arkanaut you have 30 extra points is there a reason you didnt split the thunderers and use some skywardens?
Congratulations on the two tournament wins! As far as I understand this list was build and played with alpha strike as the primary strategy, that is, the idea is to decide the game by turn 1, turn 2 maybe. I was wondering how you would approach list building and then play when you want to avoid having alpha strike as you primary idea?
I can’t talk for Tom, but personally I would do it by having a cheap option to easily achieve a battle tactic and cap objectives turn one so I can score and then counter strike what attacks my units on the objectives
@@Aethercast Thank you. Okay, this means I will invest a bit more in screens and objective grabbers on one hand and my counter punch is allowed to have shorter reach as the enemy will be right there.
how do you buff rend with eather kemist turn one if you need to move in range with ironclad then disembark thunderers and aether kemists needs to be disembarked as well as unit targeted by his abbility? I don't think he can keep up and unit needs to be wholly within 12, unless i missed something and eather kemist is for turn 2 buffs
You can use combat landing to get the Khemist and unit out of the boat. This has a 25” threat range, if the opponent deploys out of range of this then they likely can’t hit you so you could give them turn one and they’ll move closer
How on earth can you get a 1-drop with 2 behemoths?
