As a beekeeper , i can tell you from experience that the best thing you can do is to run ,because the standing still method only works if theres only one bee. if they are swarming then they are aggressive and if you get stung just once then they will all attack you instantly because of the pheromon the sting releases.

Truck driver here. This happened to me up in the mountains. Surrounded by a huge swarm. Something told me stay calm so I did (luckily). Walked slowly back 2 my truck & miraculously wasn't stung once. Still don't believe it myself. Honestly thought I was done for 😢

Bees are territorial. They will chase you out of the area they're trying to protect. Once a swarm begins bitting best to run as fast as you can. The two who took off from the start got much fewer stings for sure.

Wasps are much worse. I’ve been stung by a swarm of wasps and a couple years later bees. I discovered that getting sprayed with water is super effective after getting a little distance.
The only he got stung was because as he was trying to tell his friends not to panic his movements and twitching alerted the bees and redirected it to him, if you noticed his friends got stung first not him…. If he just stood calm and let his panicking friends run he may have been spared who knows!!!

I was on a bike ride with my 10 year old daughter…..a swarm of bees dipped down & swarmed her & her bike (a few feet behind me). I felt my heart sink, I could hear the loud swarm buzzing but I wasn’t that close to her to do anything. I was breathless & in shock so I didn’t scream. She smiled & road through them . There were hundreds of 🐝 bees. I think her calmness saved her from the bees reacting🙏

Once you’re close to 250 feet away from their swarm/nest they tend to turn around and stop attacking you. It’s definitely a better idea to run as fast as possible.
When you run and freak out, you produce a shit ton of carbon dioxide that attracts the bees to attack you. The reason he was saying don’t do that was because he knew them acting erratic makes the bees attack. They got him stung because their movement and heat they caused made them attack that area. Don’t take this dude’s advice to just “run.” You’ll cause everyone in that immediate area to have to evacuate lmao

Yeah, when there is a swarm, they're already angry and attacking. You have to run. Standing still does not work. And even in the event of a calm and lone bee, it still may sting even you you stand still and do nothing. I don't know if they feel a heartbeat or just sense life, but it still may sting.

Bees are territorial. They will chase you out of the area they're trying to protect. Once a swarm begins bitting best to run as fast as you can. The two who took off from the start got much fewer stings for sure.

Wasps are much worse. I’ve been stung by a swarm of wasps and a couple years later bees. I discovered that getting sprayed with water is super effective after getting a little distance.

The only he got stung was because as he was trying to tell his friends not to panic his movements and twitching alerted the bees and redirected it to him, if you noticed his friends got stung first not him…. If he just stood calm and let his panicking friends run he may have been spared who knows!!!

I was on a bike ride with my 10 year old daughter…..a swarm of bees dipped down & swarmed her & her bike (a few feet behind me). I felt my heart sink, I could hear the loud swarm buzzing but I wasn’t that close to her to do anything. I was breathless & in shock so I didn’t scream. She smiled & road through them . There were hundreds of 🐝 bees. I think her calmness saved her from the bees reacting🙏

When bees take an action, you have to 'Run'!
Once you’re close to 250 feet away from their swarm/nest they tend to turn around and stop attacking you. It’s definitely a better idea to run as fast as possible.

When you run and freak out, you produce a shit ton of carbon dioxide that attracts the bees to attack you. The reason he was saying don’t do that was because he knew them acting erratic makes the bees attack. They got him stung because their movement and heat they caused made them attack that area. Yeah, when there is a swarm, they're already angry and attacking. You have to run. Standing still does not work. And even in the event of a calm and lone bee, it still may sting even you you stand still and do nothing. I don't know if they feel a heartbeat or just sense life, but it still may sting.
