Why play the music, why not let us hear the natural sounds as the ship is being bombarded by the waves
@@LuvMyDogFam 🤣💙🏴🤣💙🏴
Music is horrible.. brr.
ships surveillance cams usually run without a microphone. there is no sound.

@@LuvMyDogFam 🤣🤣 Smart.
#7, 2, 1 had me the most terrified. #6 APPEARED to be the least terrifying. That ship looks like it handles storms very well.
Check out these 1000 footers plowing through massive waves on the Great Lakes! czcams.com/video/ov6mo8nn-wU/video.html
You have got to take your hat off to the ship builders and the crews, just amazing what each can handle. Great videos. Thank you.
Now imagine the same waves while standing on the wooden deck of an old 18th century sailing ship....
Actually, the movements are less violent on a tall ship.
The pressure of the wind in the sails dampen the movements.
But still......very scary
No problem for black pearl
A lot of those ships didn't make it back, their Country thought they fell off the flat Earth or a sea monster doom them.
It's a Proof that there Is God 😘
18th?
How about my portuguese ancestours in the 14/15/16th?
Some Wave's very great.

I worked on cargo ships a few years when I was young and if during a heavy storm we could hear music like this, I would jump in the waves and drown myself so I wouldn't have to listen to this! So, I turned the volume down to zero but that deprived me from listening to natural sounds, The most amazing thing is the noises ships make in storms! Eerie, ghostly, scary, like they are alive! Go see for yourselves if you got the walnut sacs to work on a ship in North Sea in the winter or a fishing ship in Alaska! And not only there. We ate cyclones and typhoons for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Eleven year a merchant seaman, and I got to live through one storm that was termed a "storm of the century". Then as in #7, the seas were "mountainous". I was in a 200 foot supply boat. The ship in #7 is much bigger, and it is getting tossed about. Phenomenal.. They will remember that storm all their life.
You must've been an AB. I was an Ordinary for two years. One ship I was on was the 'China Bear'. We were off the Aleutians, heading to Yokohama when we encountered a "Perfect Storm", the same as the movie. It was tree separate storms pushing waves ahead into one. I used to say the waves were 40 to 50 feet high. Later, in calculating it, I realized that they were twice that. When I was on the bridge (5 decks up) steering, I was still looking up another 20 or 30 feet at the crests. We had a brief break from the clouds and the waves were the most incredibly beautiful blue. And, when they broke, it was like massive avalanches of the purest white. It was all incredibly magnificent.
By the way, there was a movie recently, Finest Hours", about a tanker that broke apart. It was an old T-2 tanker. I shipped on its sister ship, the Angelo Petri, carrying wine from Cal to NJ. I later found out that the same thing had happened to her, but she later got a new bow in order to transport the wine. So, the movie was like old home movies for me.
I loved the sea, but you've heard . . "There are two things a sailor cannot keep . . A wife and a car."
40 year merchant seaman here, the best of the best. i've went boating in waves in my bath tub you would never believe. these waves pale in comparison to an experienced seaman like myself.
I remember when I was on the Hayes, we got caught in a hurricane, 30ft seas. Made for a fun time, that ship was slower than molasses at top speed, given the age, we could do no more than 12 knots on a calm day.
@@paulzane5412 the Perfect Storm is one of my favorite movies, I get goose bumps just thinking about those waves, scared shi$less, but how Enticing!!

Never seen anything like #7!!! OMG! :O
Honestly, #7 was the scariest to me; it was like an entire wall of water looming over the ship.

In 1959 I was sailing on the aircraft carrier USS Shangri La around the horn of South America in the month of April. The seas were rough the wind was howling around 50 miles an hour the seas had waves of 50 feet or more. I would not have changed a thing this was a great adventure most people will never experience. Our ship and personal were all good.
Sounds like a party to me!
Lol, I was born in April of 1959. And you were battling the sea. Salute! 🌹⚓
Music is distracting. Let's hear the sound of the waves and ships instead!

I could just sit here and watch a ship in rough seas all day, the splashes are so satisfying

Then after 3 minutes the look out on the crow's nest would holler,"man overboard"!
You wouldn't want to be hit by that splashes you like.

Had to sail with a car carrier once, Bremerhaven to Zeebrugge, wind force 7-8 on the North Sea. To pass time the electrician and myself decided to play a few bouts of squash on the ship's court. Only reference to the horizon was a small window.
Let me tell you that playing squash on a large and high vessel, rolling on the North Sea, is a challenge in a league of its own! Remember face planting not knowing why, but it was fun like hell!
I dont known how tall the average ship railing is but if it's around 4 feet, you can just imagine the pitch of those ships and the size of the waves
Number 7 scared me senseless...I need a man this fearless & brave!
Tsunami in japan
Well disciplined young fearless for sure braver than brave and I need a woman with sense more common sense to be blunt still looking
😭
Amen
I'm in awe of the courage and sacrifice it takes to be on these ships
Im proud for the humans who design it, those who make and those who use it! Incredible.
I wonder if the designer knows they can have to face this out there.
Im super scared watching this video, salute to the people on board especially the captain and his crew of these ships. Youre all fearless and even turn things into funny. Whew. God bless
My grandad was in the navy and always told stories of waves as high as buildings I’m so thankful for technology to be able to see what he might of seen.
Unknown B Even on a large warship, it’s no fun. I can only imagine the ride on a destroyer. I noticed that the large cargo ships were carrying maximum ballast to cut through the waves. No, thank you.

The ocean is indeed beautiful but vicious. I've always been afraid of the ocean. Ever since I was a child I've been weirdly dreaming of myself being swallowed by the sea and it's terrifying.

01:27 yeah, my first two ships were Destroyers, going into the waves, or rather, into the wind yields abrupt and also, depending upon the space between troughs & crests, very noisy impacts. By far the most surreal and potentially dangerous transits are if one needs to parallel or quarter the troughs. Fun memories now. Not really when you're 19, standing watch at night, total blackness, mid-winter, Baltic, or North Sea! Gotta have faith both from God, and amongst the crew for our ships abilities. Word.
The North Atlantic is a grumpy sister, too.🤣😖

I agree. That wave was a good 50 feet high.
Imagine being sea sick in those waves
These kind of videos are much more interesting looking at the ships, as opposed to from ship's POV.

WOW! Those guys have to have a lot of faith in the design of the ship, the craftsmen who welded it together and the integrity of the ship.
Spot on. If you trust the boat and its design as well as the people who are sailing it, seas like this can be kinda fun.

Number 8 so horrible long jump like leopard. Nice ship🚢
Yikes! Spectacular footage. The waves hitting ships numbers 7 & 1 were huge, and number 3 was getting it fore, aft, port and starboard! The folks who work on these ships must have balls of steel, and stomachs to match!
Love the one with the guy cackling can just hear the heart stopping joy in his voice a man of the sea, dont know how many times i've watched that one
Number 7 sounded like they were having a blast. .

Forget the overly dramatic music and play the sounds of a ship creaking, the wind blowing and the waves crashing.
