  • Electric scooters from start-ups like Bird and Lime are popping up around cities like Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Bird relies on contractors to charge scooters overnight at between $3 and $5 per scooter. Here's how to make money charging electric scooters.
Harry Campbell, founder of The Rideshare Guy podcast and blog, took CNBC reporter Kathleen Elkins on a "Bird hunting" trip in Santa Monica. The sign-up process is simple if you live in a city that has Bird scooters with chargers using the same app they would use as customers.
Once approved, Bird sends charging supplies for three scooters. Bird provides additional chargers to those who establish themselves as reliable and consistent. In some cities where Bird has too many charging contractors there might be a wait to join the program.

I am current s ooter and this video is wha k not as easy as she makes it. Yea you can get paid but realistic payments are about 40-55$...and it can drive you crazy at times because it seems easier than what she saying. You have Hoarders who take s ooters without capturing scooters. This is a huge issue. That both Companies ignore as much they can. Because the hoarder eventually captures most of their wrongfully taken scooters while they drive home. This means many captures are chasing ghosts. So what should take an hour now is a 3 hour annoyance many days.
Oh best part she intentionally left out. Wake up call is 3:45 am yes Morning.. All scooters have to be dropped before 7 am or no payment or cut in half. Hoarders hurt this P/T job too bad Bird & Lime dont take it seriously.
There's other issues but this is the Big Issue

One outside of the Zoning area. I have two vehicles and plenty of storage and I'm ready to go but I don't work for free so they can sit there.

Have fun paying ur electricity bill after charging all those scooters. The only way u could possibly make money is if u have a solar set up but those things cost a lot.... I looked into this once and for me to even break even I'd have to charge scooters for like 8yrs straight after spending 20k on a solar set up. So after 8yrs then I could start making cash. But then u have to factor in the time and gas spent tracking them down. Basically the company gets gullible people to go around charging these things so they don't have to. So unless u are stealing somebody else's electricity or u have a huge solar set up that has already been paid off...u won't make money. But also then u will be using the batteries from the solar and those things cost alot alos. So basically like I said, the company gets gullible people to charge their scooters for them. This is a scam....don't do it
