Great video. That mausoleum is really beautiful. It is well taken care of and has all those plants and furniture inside. Most likely, it looks as it was intended to look by the family. But some day, the money or the interest of people is going to run out. Then what? Mausoleums are really not permanent ways to preserve the dead. Best to bury them or cremate them.
That cemetery says that when you purchase one of those you put a fee into an account that collects interest and they use the interest to mostly pay for stuff they need to do.
That was AMAZING ! I was also amazed they have several house plants with comfy CHAIRS ! Someone has to keep all those plants alive on a very regular basis . And to think 35 years after death to have chairs that tells me also that someone spends a lot of time with them. And still yet I was expecting that mausoleum was going to hold 6 or 8 family members ? But no just two ? Wow I'm certainly amazed. Great video as always !
You should check out the mausoleums in the Philippines especially the Chinese cemetery in Manila, with AC, two levels some have rooftop terrace for the families .
Considering inflation, and just how expensive it is to live in California, I would add an extra $2, 000,000 on top of that $10,000,000. $12,000,000 by todays standards. Interesting video, thank you very much Tony.
Location, location, location.... Leona Helmsley would say her's looks better. I think I mentioned before the Rock of Ages dealer here said last year they did a mausoleum at Peoria, IL in the cheapest gray granite for $1.2 million. I don't recall how many crypts it has. The family also paid $$$ for the land also. I don't recall how much. I forget how much $$$ Leona Helmsley left in funds for yearly maintenance. I know it was a lot. That's why most cemeteries don't want them, someone has to pay for maintenance.
Fascinating video - such enormous sums of money! I suppose you can’t take it with you, but wow! I always wonder how much the niches in the columbariums and the interments in the mausoleums cost also.
When we were putting my dad in a columbarium, a nice glass front went from 9000 to about 30,000 depending on how high or low it is the lower more accessible. It is the more expensive it is heart level and above it’s cheaper.
A one-person Mausoleum building is about $35,000 right now and up to a million for a run-of-the-mill one for people of eight I priced them the other day just to see how much they were running
Price also depends on the color of the granite. Missouri red granite or gray granite here where I live for a 1 person lawn mausoleum crypt like Lisa Marie Presley is housed in was around $25K and that didn't include the foundation work needed a few yrs ago when I priced them. About 36 inches thick concrete is needed to keep them stable on the surface. If you jump to scarce black granite and the price increases enourmously.
@@visitingdeadadventures True.. Being in one above ground you would decompose faster. I know when they closed the casket of my mother I asked the funeral director to just leave a casket lid floral spray inside the casket and he wouldn't do that. He told me they didn't want anything left inside that would create moisture. So I presume underground a person would decompose slower since the temp stays about the same and not exposed to air as readily sealed inside a vault. I asked a guy from Wilbert Vault one day when I was at a cemetery and he was setting up a vault and he told me if the vault seals like it should decomposition is slow. It gets nasty if they don't seal and water gets inside.
@@timw8228 he he so right , I work for a cemetery in Tennessee and we had to dig one up one time that was buried like 40 years and when we pulled it up water and stuff just just right out of it... it was gross...
@@visitingdeadadventures My aunt and I got into a discussion about vaults one day. She was going on about how it was guaranteed blah blah blah. I said oh yeah do you know of anyone making a claim on that guarantee. I said I'll be standing over your grave asking you how's the swimming down there... I've seen a few YT video's of caskets lifted up, metal no less that looked like a rusty Titanic with water pouring out.

I love all of the cool plants inside! I'm not in love with the price point but it is a very beautiful structure.
Yeah. It’s beautiful.. they had the money so I guess they went all out.
Wow! That's really expensive💰🙀💰
Someone loved Snake plants....and that huge one in the middle? Wow...
The Mausoleum is Beautiful! Thank you for showing it to us Tony! Keith &Kim🌅🕊️
Thank you for watching.
I would trade it for two cases of Pabst Blue Ribbon long necks and a Maxwell House coffee can for my cremains.

I must be on my way out because I've been looking for one for myself lol

Thanks for sharing. It's insane what some people will pay.
Can you imagine the cost of the really old ones that still look beautiful
Thanks for sharing,Tony🪦 Always interested in this stuff💕

@@timw8228 it's insane what they want for them and for what your body's going to decompose as well as it is in the ground.

Holy Cow. 2.5 million plus another 2.5 million for the land. That is just mind blowing. Yes, it is beautiful, but it came with quite a price tag.
I know!
This is the perfect example of the excess of the rich. He TIRED to take it with him and it shows.
Cant take it with you. Beautiful stained glass. I think it would be more like 15 to 20 million. Ca and their taxes.
5 million, good god I could retire on just 1 million and just live (pretty well) on the bank interest.
Question is, how much did the family pay for "upkeep" fees? Love the channel!
From what I’ve been told the people who buy those pay a fee that goes into an account that collect interest for things like upkeep.
1.5 million
Omg ☠️ how much 😱💀😱💀! Wow.
Yeah I know… they had the $$$ though
@@CryptDoor nope not spending that sort of cash, and I’m dead!? Would rather it went to animal charity etc. Each to their own.
And I would want gargoyles and such like!🤣….. it’s just not exciting enough for that kind of cash.
Everytime I see one of those I think of icky spiders...no thanks
5 mil ..whooa ..and one day it will just be a abandoned building in a bankrupt cemetery ...money well spent
Curious to know who was this person very wealthy
Yep, had his hand in the beer business
I always say if you want to earn a lot of money buy stocks in alcohol 🍺
Way too much in my opinion.
Chump change.
