    Mega, danke fur das Video. Bin schon die ganze Zeit am überlegen gewesen wie ich Carplay & Android Auto in die Karre bekomme. War schon drauf und dran 500€ für ein Joying auszugeben, was sicherlich noch eine Spur besser funktioniert und einen Drehregler (!) hätte. Aber dann braucht es wieder einen DAB Adapter, CAN-Bus Decoder und Zack, biste direkt bei 600-700€. Da ist das hier mal einen Versuch wert.
    Vielen Dank!

      Ich benutze es jetzt schon einige Zeit und es funktioniert wirklich gut. Sicher die einfachste und günstigste Art, CarPlay nachzurüsten. Klar wäre ein neuer Radio mit Drehregler und besserem Touchscreen toll, aber wie du schon sagtest, das ist gleich viel teurer und mit mehr Aufwand verbunden.

    update now after 6 months? Is it still working well?

      Absoluteley, I use it all the time. It's working great so far. There are only two small issues I encountered. The first one is that it doesn't activate itself all the time (which is not a big deal at all, you just tap the on/off button and it it's there immediately). The second one: If you are "too fast" to start your car and put it in reverse before the device booted up it will turn off the backup camera. That's quite annoying. So I just wait 5 to 7 seconds or so to make it boot and then it leaves the backup camera image up as it should.
      So basically only two little quirks that can be easily lived with. I happened to me once that the device wouldn't respond anymore but after a restart all was back to normal. And that only happened once so far. In general I can recommend it.

    Great vid, where did you put the box when you had finished? Did you just leave it behind the ventilation controls?

      @whr_vlogs  Před 3 měsíci

      Yeah, pretty much. I put it as far back as I could then put the radio back in; the box is secured enough like this, it can’t go anywhere.

    How did you hardwire? Mine doesn’t work hardwired.

      I just plugged it in and it works. I don’t know what’s wrong in your case, sorry.

    Where did you end up hiding this unit? Above or below the headunit? Did you secure it by gluing or cabletied? Was there any spot for it?

    • @whr_vlogs
      @whr_vlogs  Před měsícem +2

      I put it behind the radio, there was easily enough space for it. I didn't even need to secure it because it is cramped back there enough when the whole head unit is back in.

    I know its better to keep the factory head unit but for the price of the adapter you could've gotten a much better headunit with carplay. What made you go this route

      I didn't want to search for a decent Android radio, these are hit or miss I found out. And they are never really perfect, either the radio signal is bad, or some menus are badly arranged, etc. This adapter (although very expensive) integrates very nicely. The stock head unit always works the best with the car since it's designed for it.

      @@whr_vlogs yeah, aftermarket units often dont drive the speakers in the car well too. I’m all for OEM+
      Great implementation, glad your rear camera is working fine as well

    How good are the OEM speakers ? How many are there? TX

      I'm afraid I'm no expert on this at all; I think there are 4 in total (two in each front door). They are alright, but they are nothing groundbreaking. They are lacking a bit of bass but again, I'm no audio expert so it's just purely subjective.

      I see. Let me know which one you decided on, both are pretty neat vehicles.
