So I've been seeing this one for a very long time. I grew up on Kenny Loggins (from the parentals) and this song is just so iconic. Can't really beat the team of Moroder/Loggins for a tune haha. Mr. Loggins' voice cant really be duplicated so this one came out with more of a Steel Panther vocal vibe. But we'll take it haha. Thank you guys so much for everything. Dude I've probably watched this video like 200 times. Personally I feel this is your best work - that fucking solo has amazing phrasing and my face melts every time I hear it. Then I watch the video again and then my skull boils and falls to the floor. Then I watch it again and my ears catch on fire, my eyes pop out of what remains of my head, and I'm like "holy fuck I feel like a freight train just hit me." Wow dude. Just wow.

Gotta say, no matter how good you are, nothing will be cooler than seeing your love for playing. So many people are great guitarists but almost look like they are trying to be serious or look hard playing! I started watching because of gangnam style and got hooked to guile's theme, and then kept coming back for more castlevania goodness and such... He is getting better and better over the years. It's astonishing seeing someone already really good improve so much.

I love this tune. One of the many great 80's hard rock hits. You should also do "I'm Free (Heaven Helps the Man)" which was in the movie Footloose (along with the song "Footloose"). Aside from this, that song would be my favorite of Loggins'.

Except that the whole premise of the movie is like, machismo and the F16 is the antithesis of macho. The F16 is single engines, small, short. The F14 is huge, twin-engined, and bulls it's way through the sky. It would be like filming a Rocky movie with Gilbert Gottfried instead of Stallone.
Armoredcompany I agree. We also gotta keep in mind that the TOPGUN program is a Navy program, not an Air Force program. F-16s are for Air Force (as evidenced by the Air Force Thunderbirds aerobatics group). F/A-18E or -F model Hornets would be what they'd be using in this newer movie (since the Blue Angels, the Navy aerobatics group, uses them). Only issue is that the F/A-18s aren't as "manly" as the Tomcat. Not big, less "reach-out-and-touch-someone" range. The F-35 is even worse, so don't even start on that.
MrSupercar55 The Grumman F-14 Tomcat has a few problems and one of them is that they cannot turn with the ease of a Boeing F/A-18 Hornet/Superhornet. The F-35 I would not tolerate for it because it does not have the style of either of them. I would preffer the F/A-18 E because it is larger than the C and it bears the closest resemblence in the new generation series of the F/A-18's.
Armoredcompany The F-14 Tomcat was designed as a naval interceptor. Meaning it's mission role was to climb up to combat altitude as fast as possible, engage and neutralize any aerial threats that were detected. It needed to climb like a mother fucker, hence the twin engines, and be able to carry a good weapons load for air to air combat. It was not a very versatile aircraft which is one of the reason it was phased out for the F/A-18 Super Hornet however the Super Hornet is nowhere near as good of an interceptor as the F-14 would be with updated avionics and weapons. Although the F-14D Tomcat was expensive as hell and a bitch for the maintenance crews so a more versatile fighter that is good enough for most jobs the Navy needs and is cheap and easy to maintain is much more favorable than a super high maintance single role fighter aircraft. It is like a Formula 1 car is the Tomcat and the Super Hornet is a nice pickup truck. The Tomcat is super expensive, super hard to maintain, and super good at what it does. The Super Hornet is just kind of a jack of all trades master of none, it is good enough for most any job the Navy needs it to do and it is reliable and easy to maintain.
