- How to make hollow pieces with UV resin without silicone molds
Como fazer peças ocas com resina UV sem moldes de silicone.
Tips for this project: The UV resin when in contact with the UV light from the torch, hardens very fast. Between layers there's no need to fully cure the resin. I only fully cure the resin when I apply the last layer.
Why do I fill the balloon with water? To prevent it from shrinking when curing the resin.
Dicas para este projeto: A resina UV quando em contato com a luz UV da tocha, endurece rapidamente. Entre as camadas não há necessidade de curar completamente a resina. Eu apenas curo completamente a resina quando aplico a última camada.
Porque encho o balão com água? Para evitar que este encolha ao curar a resina.

Wow, that's both beautiful and ingenious!! Though if it were me making it, I'd add a tiny tidbit of glitter or a few tiny beads in the spherical part because that's what I love.

She is using UV resin and colorant and a UV *flashlite to cure it (*great for spotting scopions at nite as the glow green). Also, a balloon and a straw and wire. Most crafters will recognise all of these materials. Nice inspiration piece.

I love the idea of making a ball of resin like this- I am going to have to try it! Hmmmm...now you have me thinking...take a small jingle bell, put it in the water filled balloon, make the clear ball and when you pop it and remove the water you will have a bell in a ball- or you can make a series of balls and each time put them into a larger water filled balloon until you have a variety of sphere contained in each other!
I am so gonna play with this....
PS where did you get that great huge light? The only ones I have are tiny

This is 2 years late, but that huge UV torch is on Amazon - about $15 - and is often used to spot cat urine on carpet, walls...wherever. 😊

OH! Thank you! I have been searching very hard for a way to make a resin and gemstone chip bead. THIS will definitely work! I have smaller silicone tubes that I can use in the middle.

@dawn boyer, you can get uv paints in many different forms,, i have it in acrylics, face paints, wall paints etc plus you can get uv mica powders which is nice as you get the shimmer with it too, all i have found work well with resin x

aliexpress has quite cheap uv resins and uv light, and balloons with straws, too. The author used the resin from china, too, so dont be scared

UV resin takes 2-3 minutes per side to fully cure with UV light. If you get the ones for manicures, you can just put your resin or clear mold with resin in it on a mirror and cure it that way so you don't have to do each side

Either on the internet (amazon, etc) or in craft stores.

UV resin is a resin that cures using UV light rather than just curing by sitting around for hours. you can set your piece in the sun or they do sell UV lights.
I got my UV resin on Etsy. but you can probably find it on Amazon like Mint Yoongi said. I don't remember seeing it in craft stores, but you might be able to find it there.
