Back when Door was in Standard, I had a mana-ramp deck that could semi-reliably pop off the door. Despite only having a middling record with deck, it was always worth suffering through the losses to see people's reactions when they got "doored."

Also commander seems to have some specific stuff e.g "color identity"
"Color identity is a property of cards in the Commander format and its variants (e.g. Brawl). It expands the concept of a card's color beyond the mana cost to all elements of the card. Color identity forms one of the key deck construction rules for Commander formats as players are not allowed to use any card whose color identity is not included in the color identity of their commander."

To answer your question yes if both players have hexproof you can still target yourself. If you have shroud and other player has hexoroof or shroud then there won't be any legal targets for the ability

Throw a couple Chromatic Orreries in there? Ramp plus mana fixing.
He needs somthing that generates coloured mana. This is the typical Senpai deck though, with poorly thought out building and a featured card he can't even use because he didn't read it.
Do you know about Chromatic Orrery? It makes all mana any color.

I re-installed this shit after several weeks of not playing due to running into nothing but the stupid random number of card decks (usually 150+) that just combo turn 2-3 without any effort - anyway, the first player is playing one of 8 free constructed decks the game just gave me when i logged back in.
