  • Join us for the last part of our road trip in the Honda Civic e:Hev Hybrid.
    We headed down towards Bicester for the new Suzuki launch, and this Civic Sport was a joy to drive.
    Powered by a 2L i-MMD e-CVT hybrid engine, it's now the only powertrain available, which makes it easier when choosing your new car.
    There are three trims available:
    Elegance - from £30,495.00 on the road
    Sport - from £31,795.00 on the road
    Advance - £34,650.00 on the road
    The model we have here is the Sport.

    I've ordered mine, it's due in June. Changing from an Audi A3 S-Line stronic (which I love) to a Civic after a 2 hour test drive (thanks Brindley Honda). I was blown away by it's comfort and all round driving experience. Despte criticisms of it's price, in some articles, the same spec'd A3 would have cost me £2300 more than the Sport I've ordered. Great vlog, thank you.

      @@Locoman2002 What timing! The A3 is being collected right now, BUT yesterday the Honda dealer called to say that 'you should have the car in October', having said it would be next week about 6 weeks ago. I'm a bit......as you can imagine. Do you have one, and what are your thoughts so far?

      Hi Mark, thanks for the prompt response.
      Perfect timing😁! oh no, are you now left without a car?
      June - October, that is 4months extra! my dealer gave me the impression that the cars are arriving as schedule.
      I don't have one yet, mine is on order. I had the option of December, but I opted for January 2024. New year, New Car.
      The only thing I wasn’t happy with, was the price. I felt, for a car close to £40,000, it should have either as standard or options at the least,
      1) Head-up display.
      2) Option for different upholstery colours, not just black.
      3) Ventilated cooling front seats.
      4) Heated rear seats.
      5) Automatic tailgate.
      All in all, I can live without the above, as everything else seems perfect to me😁.
      Best Regards
      Dan

      @@Locoman2002 Hi Dan, I hear that current orders a e delivered on schedule, it's the backlog that are being held up. Apparently they arrive in Holland first and someone there has pointed out that most incoming shipments are the Jazz and new ZRV - 'small' cars which have high demand right now, but only a few civics 😞. I can live without your 5 missing items as apart from the auto tailgate I've never had any of them. Price wise I got mine at the Jan 23 price and there will be no increase to the quoted price. At £30k (Sport) I'm quite happy because the same spec Audi at the time was £3k higher.Based on current prices, new and used, I'm very happy with my deal🙂. If I think about it at the time I'll let you know when I finally get mine.

      Glad you liked it, David. As to whether I could see myself in one, I will defer answering until we’ve had the FL5 on review. (That may win) I’ve always loved Civics though - we’ve got our silver EJ9 in for repairs at the moment, and she’s the third one I’ve had. We both regretted selling the previous one, so Valec is staying with us 😍 🚙💯

Maria V Snyder wrote a book called Poison Study (first in a series) and one of the characters is called Valek - he’s chief of security but started out as an assassin He has a strict honour code and is rather awesome. *A

    I really like so much too after a test drive. Only two things I don't like: (1) you cannot adjust the height for the front passenger seat, only the driver seat. (2) The visibility of the rear window is a bit limited; you may not fell comfortable to depend on it much when reversing to park. I know that there is a reversing camera but I always prefer the old-fashioned way for reverse parking. Looking at the screen when reversing is not my thing, I guess.

    Hi. Thank you for the good review.
    I got the Civic e:Hev sport model, and unfortunately got strange steering issues that are being checked, which are more severe if I use the actual recommended tire pressure of 2.3 in the back and 2.5 in the front.
    If I lower it to 2.3 both in the front and back it behaves better (though still problematic at speeds higher than 65km/h).
    What tire pressure are you using in the Civic?

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Před 5 měsíci

      As it was a UK press car, it would be the recommended pressures by Honda - sounds like you’ve just been unlucky, please keep us posted and thank you for the kind words.

    Just to be clear, this car has no gearbox. Powered by two electric motors, electric current is what drives the car unless at high speed when the ICE uses a clutch system to drive the wheels. The shifting you hear in sport mode is artificial and piped through the speakers.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Před rokem

      Like Jazz there’s no mechanical connection to the wheels, it’s all motors, except in engine mode, when it’s not… whatever it is it’s good 😊

      @@PlanetautoUKThere IS mechanical clutch transmission of power at steady-state motorway speeds when the amount of power required is relatively low. The is NOT, however, an actual gearbox in the car, so the range of speeds at which the “single speed” transmission and clutch can engage the engine directly to the front wheels is limited (I believe from about 60-80mph).

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Před rokem +1

      It seems to use a slightly different system to the Jazz, hybrid uses motors to drive wheels and engine uses itself to drive the wheels all coupled e CVT tech and Atkinson cycle it’s mind boggling, just glad it’s not a classic CVT.
