Whether its Grant Morrison's Batman or Archie Goodwins Batman or Scott Snyders Batman or Frank Millers Batman or Dennis O Neils Batman or Marv Wolfmans Batman, that has never been the case. Batman doesnt fight crime to save himself or as a form of therapy. He fights crime because he doesnt want others to suffer the same fate he did. He is doing it for other people. He is not doing it for himself. He genuinely wants to help and improve Gotham. You can say that helping other people is theraputic for him and I'd certainly agree with that. That is batman 101. If u get that wrong about batman, u dont understand the character

This movie was sublime. You could hear every step that Batman took, as if he is this righteous force that keeps the city from falling apart. And the riddler’s actor did a fantastic job. He made me think that he was actually a psychopath. Also the movie did a phenomenal job at portraying the darkness and corruption of Gotham. Really gave you the feeling of an odious city. 10/10 from me

The Batman is a true art. This movie was awesome!
I think in this film everything is as it should be, there are no extra minutes that would slow down the pace of the film's narrative. I wouldn't mind if the deleted scene with the Joker was included in the theatrical version of the movie too. 3 hours of pure cinematography.

I'm sick of this false narrative that Pattinson didn't "play a good Bruce Wayne". These people don't know the character. Bruce Wayne at his core is a broken man beyond repair. This is what Pattinson plays so well. A Broken Bruce Wayne. A REAL Bruce Wayne.
He will eventually create the Bruce Wayne facade as well. They are just not use to seeing him without it. It’s year 2 so it makes sense

I mean, the vast majority of both audiences and critics absolutely loved this film. It's only hated in by butthurt Nolan fans and delusional Batfleck, Snyderverse stans
This is a MASTERPIECE, just like the movie.
The Batman is just an outstanding masterpiece it's honestly the best superhero/Batman movie of all time. And my third favourite film after Jesus of Nazareth and the Passion of Christ,honestly this is the Batman I've been waiting for. I loved Micheal Keaton,Christian Bale and Ben Affleck but Robert Pattinson just took it to a whole new level. He was born for it easily the best Batman/Bruce Wayne. Matt Reeves really understood the character better than anyone and it was straight out of the comics year one style along with the Arkham games. There's no boring parts at all,I loved every single scene and every single second from start to finish. As a hard core comic book Batman nerd/fan and TAS this is everything I ever wanted in a Batman movie. I remember wanting to see an adaption of year one so bad as a kid and now it's finally happened I've seen this 13 times now on the big screen and it just gets better every single time I watch it. Might as well make the best of my cinema membership and watch the crap out of it until it stops showing it never gets boring. I cannot wait for more and to see what's next for this Batman,it's about damn time we got the perfect Batman movie. I knew this was going to be the best ever since Robert got announced for the role. Everyone was dissing the guy because of Twilight bitching about it,but I was rooting for him because he is a great actor. He's so talented,it's like the same thing with Daniel Craig's James Bond everyone was hating on him because he's blonde. Everyone hated on Heath Ledger and look at how the tables have turned now for him and Craig,now Robert Pattinson too. As soon as I read about the plot for the Batman before any trailers,when Matt Reeves said what he plans on doing. How he's taking inspiration from the comics,and when I saw the screen test for Robert in the suit with the main theme in the background. I just knew it was going to be the best and I was right.

Now if you want to talk about a Christ like moment I'd say that stupid scene in Batman V Superman when everyone's worshipping Clark,touching him after he saved that little girl from the burning fire. Like he's God,I just always found that scene so messed up,especially the part when that family put the Superman S on their rooftop when it should be a cross. Idolatry is just messed up,these fictional characters won't save you and they themselves no matter how cool they are need Jesus just as much as we all do. But you can see a lot of Christ's character in these fictional characters though.
@@JLOCC23424 I'm not saying anything related to idolatry, I'm saying there was Christ imagery in one of the scenes. At the end, when he leaps into the water and rises back out it felt baptism-like to me. Then he becomes the only source of light when he lights his flare, and then leads a group of people to safety. There's a lot of Christlike imagery there, whether the filmmakers meant it or not
Everytime I hear the first line from Bruce all I expect the next line to be is...

@@xynystervolt There is definitely some inspiration from Watchmen and Taxi Driver because of how unhealthily Bruce is obsessed with his vigilante lifestyle, but the monologue is something out of comics in general, not just Watchmen.

i love how he starts with narrating with a doubtful question of weather he's making any difference and says the city is eatign itself liek it has no hope......and at the end he finally realizes he IS making difference and there's hope for Gotham
Finally watching this film a couple days ago made me see what Jesse saw in this film. It’s truly reinventing Batman with different takes on a lot of things and this edit for The Batman was something I waited for for a while and Jesse delivered. I’ll never force myself to remember what happened in this edit as it’s unforgettable to me.
Reinventing Batman how? The only thing that was reinvented was Riddler.

Easily my ALL TIME FAVORITE live action Batman film ever made. And it's not even particularly close
easily the GREATEST live action Batman film EVER MADE.
I literally can't stop watching the masterpiece that is this film. the cinematography, the score, the pacing, the acting, the action, all absolutely brilliant. if you don't like it, then fine. but I really don't get this attitude that a new take on an iconic character somehow takes away from whatever came before. it doesn't and that's an extremely ridiculous and immature point of view and way of looking at things. when it's all said and done, it's EXTREMELY likely that we will have TWO GREAT Batman trilogies on our hands. and if you're a fan of the character, that's just awesome. if you don't like it, don't watch. deliberately coming here just to hate shows how threatened you are by this film. if the Batman truly sucked as much as you say it does, then you would just laugh it off, or at least be indifferent to it. but instead you're all butthurt and in your feelings. because you know it's fantastic, deep down. if you prefer Bales pansy ass weak Batman and truly atrocious action scenes, stuffed full of shaky cam, jump cut bullshit, and absolutely glaring plot-holes, then more power to ya. but for literally TONS of us, we've finally found our Dark Knight and it shouldn't matter to you at all. don't watch, just go jerk it to a picture of Nolan

I understand his feeling so much. Every night, Bruce goes out and protects the city, trying his best to making difference. Two years in the process and he still see nothing change. The city is still covered by fear. Bruce still pushs himself over his limit, wishing he can make a difference, even a smallest change.
Until Riddler appeared from nowhere, changed the city by Bruces's method, fear. That's when Bruce know his method is not the right one, and not the city, but he has to change first.
I love how Nolan fans love to criticize this movie because it's not enough like Nolan and Rob's Batman is so different from Bales and I'm just like..... exactly.
Bale on Nolan got Batman wrong. Dead wrong. Stop thinking the "right" way to do Batman is to be like The Dark Knight trilogy. It isn't. THIS Batman is so much more accurate to the comics and source material and just truer to the character all around. I don't think the Nolan films are bad necessarily, but for me, and for alot of other diehard, lifelong Batman fans, the just didn't satisfy completely like this film did. it was a truly incredible experience watching this for the first time. like someone in Hollywood had actually listened for once. it delivered on everything I hoped for.... and then some. if you prefer TDKT, that's fine. art is ENTIRELY subjective, after all. you do you. but there is absolutely no reason to hate on this version. Just because there's a new incarnation, that doesn't some how take away from the past, from what came before. that's an incredibly immature point of view and way of thinking in general. look at it this way, you still have your Nolan films that you love oh so much, and now we have OUR perfect Dark Knight and hopefully perfect Batman trilogy. so we can ALL be happy. it's not a damn competition.
