    Are you struggling with portion control? You’re not alone. Registered Dietitian Whitney English shares easy ways to figure out how much you need to eat to fuel your body and feel satisfied.
    The size of a healthy portion is not identical for everyone. Even if you’re the same height and weight as someone, you have different metabolic rates, activity levels, and energy needs. Here are four things you can do to figure out how much food is best for your body.
    - Plate your meals. It’s easy to eat more than you intend or realize when you’re snacking straight from the package.
    - Eat slowly. It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register fullness. Savor each bite so you don’t miss that cue.
    - Sit down to eat. The distractions that come with eating on the go increase the likelihood of overeating.
    - Focus on your food. People eat more when they’re not paying attention. Turn off the television and your devices to avoid overeating.
    When you’re mindful of what you’re eating, you’ll feel more satisfied, and it will be easier to eat only the portions that your body needs.
