Soon they're going to force merchants to be listed on their site without their permission. Doordash will encourage their drivers to do the market research for them by not attaching an AR requirement to it & paying Top Dasher pay to everyone who takes a photo for them regardless of that Dasher's status.
That way when a merchant declined to be listed on Doordash Doordash will get their menu & send Dasher's to them anyway. They want more merchants on their site & they'll pay dearly for it.
I got an email a few weeks ago about other door dash tasks. Things like hanging Christmas lights, helping out at reasturants ( which I'm pretty sure is illegal) , shoveling snow, etc... these are some of the things they were asking about in Wisconsin.
I'm all for options on new verticals. But if they add another thing that affects AR, I am going to lose my f***ing mind with this company.
100% get it, I'd like a nice simple organic new option without a carrot on the stick contingency
I totally agree with you... It's bad enough I do 5 orders in a row and my AR stays the same and then I refuse 1 and my AR goes down... Or they give me a ridiculous offer that I just can't accept as it's just ridiculous, and then they will send it to me another 2 times right after... Making me decline the offer three times.. It's insane, that makes me wanna smash my phone at times lol.
@@RainBitcoins I feel your pain
@@RainBitcoins it's a rolling 100. I do 20 to 30 deliveries a day and It still takes half a week to a week to get 100 orders. Do you dash the same days. Do you dash the dash the same hours. I see a pattern where everyday you do so many deliveries every hour so many. So when your decline are ready to roll off. It's during a period that it's dead like it was 100 deliveries ago and you decline like you did 100 orders ago and your affected. Only way out is to break the cycle and stop declining.
@@Marksin866 I understand, but If I decline a order they shouldn't send it back to me forcing to decline another 2 times. My AR is 78% and its not easy keeping it there, I guess that's the whole idea. I deliver on an ebike, so when they send you a 8-10klm order it's just not doable.
Maybe they should stop playing games & start paying the drivers more overall.
Facts
Maybe you should stop playing games with the app and just find something better suited to your lifestyle and personal reasons.
â@@Marksin866đ€Ą
I hear you, since I first started it's always been a tightrope between keeping merchants, customers and workers happy. Merchants want no commission fees, customers want no fees as well with fast delivery and drivers want as much pay as possible. Same as regular business, making your clients and staff happy while also trying to turn a profit.
That part
I've never been tasked with taking a picture of a menu, however this past week I was offered an extra dollar to have an employee open the bag so I could verify the order. I did it, but it was awkward and I had to show the employee the message and explain it because she'd never seen it before either. Edit: Atlanta area btw.
Iâve had the restaurant open bag so I can take picture of âfrequently missing itemâ
Iâve done this on my own so the customer wonât complain. Etc
I just checked the boxes and confirmed. I know my Wendy's know to make the Dr Pepper and JBc and ff
Interesting do you have a screenshot of that? If so forward to info@yourdrivermike.com if you'd like. Yeah opening up the bag is easy enough but it's definitely kind of awkward like, "uh okay, can you just trust us to do our job" đ đ±
@@YourDriverMike I don't have a screenshot unfortunately. It came up similarly to the offers you've shown about getting extra for taking a picture of the menu, except instead of an option to take a picture at the pickup, it went to a screen where I verified each item on the order. If I get another, I'll screenshot it, but at the time I felt like Georgia has traditionally been a latecomer to new programs, so I didn't think it was anything that wasn't being seen in other markets.
I had had the same screen. Iâve only had it twice both for the same Wendyâs. Iâm assuming the restaurant was flagged for frequent missing items
Verifying pricing so they can Jack their mark-ups even more than they already do.
I've never seen a merchant agreement but I'm curious what their policy is on price adjustments on-app vs in-store. I don't mind paying slightly more on-app but there of course is a point where customers think it's ridiculous.
I have done this took a picture of Popeyes menu received a $1 dollar right away
Yea Iâve been offered that a ton in past year but now Iâve got this special email last night so sounds like more than just that ?
Yea Iâve been offered that a ton in past year but now Iâve got this special email last night so sounds like more than just that ?
No I haven't seen this in Medford Oregon yet
Nice, yes does sound like this is something completely new though. We'll see!
When you do shopping you are basically doing the work of regular employees. Basically doing free inventory, bagging and so on.
Which I always consider when looking at shop & deliver, every item is going to be additional time. Sometimes it's not bad but other times it can really add up
I bad part is you can only see what youâre shopping for after accepting it, so you gotta do it or take the CR drop. Shopping orders are always a gamble. I wish there was higher base pay on high item shopping orders or atleast a way or get the general scope of what youâre getting.
@@factoidual I have not had to shop and deliver since using pay by time. đ only retail pickup and food delivery.
I would definitely love to do these types instead of dealing with customers trying to get free food and giving me violations for no reason at all
I'm down for non-delivery opportunities depending what it is. Curious to see more
Maybe try something that doesn't have to do with working with people or around food. Best if luck
This sounds just like task rabbit⊠hopefully this wonât affect our acceptance rate or Iâm just done with DoorDash.
For the past year Iâve had shopping only orders for Winn Dixie here in central Florida, as in u shop for the items , bag them and put them in lockers and/or coolers for the customers to pick up later
I was chosen by DD for these opportunities. Iâm so grateful I can pay my rent by taking photos on laminated documents in dim light. No flash bad reflexiĂłn. Thanks to the once in a bi week period opportunity I can afford a better place to live. My cardboard home is going to be renovated and upgraded for a brand new Home Depot branded big box. Thank you DD you have made my day.
đđđđđ love it
đ
đđđđđ
I hope itâs advertising missions like take a selfie in door dash garb. Or take a picture of your vehicle with a DoorDash logo vinyl.
First mission we got is verify holiday hours, for 4th of July.
Just wondering we've had a big up kick in food carts in my area maybe verifying locations along with menus just a thought
Iâve seen the extra $1 thing for menu photos twice already
Thanks for sharing, I've done a few of those. I think this is something completely different though we'll see.
Iâve not received those promo emails yet
Thumbs up for keeping up with this stuff. Uber and Lyft pay, and benefits lawsuit passed the other day. Could it trickle down?
San Diego here:
I got that email Wed. And now Saturday, I did get a follow up email that I will include holiday hours leading up to July 4th
I have not received this email, but over the past year that I have been dashing, I have been asked to take photos of menus maybe 5 different times. Easy way to earn an extra buck.
Looking forward to trying out these "non-delivery" options.
Iâve had many instances where the take a picture of the menu fails because itâs nonstandard format. đ€·đŒââïž. Could be a service where the dasher provides feedback on the store
Its called manipulation
I see it in West Manassas, Virginia, but the scheduling has also changed. I'm at 12% and can't schedule 1 week ahead.
You can schedule at midnight instead of 3pm(same day, 9 hours later)
Just to let you know the rewards just hit my market Tuesday in Chicago so not even a year lol which is crazy.
Dasher Rewards just came to Chicago?
Hi I received email from DD stating earnings for non delivery what that could be đ€
I got this email yesterday and i also have had the task of taking photos of menus here in central Indiana
Thanks for sharing
I got the email this morning and it was around verification of store hours during 4th of July holiday. Iâve also received requests to take menu photos for additional pay. Iâm happy to do these small tasks if they are offered đ
I think they will be comparing time to order in-store vs dasher wait times to better optimize the timing of dasher arrival.
So many months ago DD sent out a survey given certain suggestions to make money. I canât remember the details but I do know there was a variety of different tasks.
I hope the mystery shopper thing becomes available. I love doing undercover.
Did DD quit letting you click on the delivery location before accepting the dash?
Shop only?
It could be shop only at grocery stores, for their subside pickups. Possibly verifying out of stock items
I thought that too. I've done quite a few of those on Instacart and they're actually not bad. Usually like $7-9 for 15-20 minutes work and you don't have to use up your gas delivering it.
Yes I received it. From the email I received it said July 2-3 I may be asked to verify the merchants holiday hours.
I only seen the menu photo for small shops like local spots or food trucks north Dallas market
did DoorDash acquire Observati? Could it? Would it? Should it?
Not related to the topic but wondering if other markets deal with this. While working hard to get AR up u find yourself taking delivery out of the zone then as u r traveling back dd will send a garbage order that obviously nobody else wanted which forces one to decline to create drop in AR. It's like once to start getting numbers up they draw u back down.
I did get the email about one off task. Interested to see what it will entail đ€·ââïž. Iâm on the East Coast in MD
Thanks!
I got the menu pic offer in March when I first started with DD.
Hope it's more beneficial than the platinum status got a 10 miles for 5.50 order today, I'm starting to believe they are making it harder to maintain platinum status. Mystery shopper is what I was thinking when you started talking about this new pilot program... sounds like spy work.
I have not seen much difference between any status from what I end up delivering other than the amount of orders Iâm offered when my acceptance rate get to 80%. I now mostly use the hourly as it comes to about the same as per order hourly from what Iâve tried.
Sorry to hear about that Platinum offer, overall though do you think it's making you more money per hour?
@@YourDriverMike I can't really say one way or another because, I've had top dasher and when switched had Platinum since it started. I consider myself new to this 500 lifetime dashes so far. I tried shop and deliver(not4me)I just do pick up and deliver is all I wanna do at this time.
@@YourDriverMike Seems as to me Iâm getting about the same orders and I really dont cherry pick I make about the same or better. Depending on the time of day and what side of town Iâm on the hour is good because there are many times Iâm waiting at the restaurant. The ten minutes I have to wait to unassign an order without penalty and drive to another that may give me the same results of waiting donât seem worth it pay per order. It seems as you have to cherry pick $7+ orders on pay per order but again everytime my accept rate got to 80 my offers slowed. This doesnât matter as much when itâs busy because they need dashers. Iâm full time now so during the slow times Iâm guessing when acceptance matters. I average between $18-30+ on pay per hour during a full time week but closer to the 18-22. Iâve seen hourly at night as high as $19.50/h on a night peak pay so even if Iâm waiting at that rate Iâm doing pretty good if I get a tip.
They often try to send me on a 30 mile trip to take an order when there is a much closer restaurant to the delivery location. If often happens when said pickup is directly across the river from the drop. But yet it knows it's going to be 30 mile drive.
.. what shift do they send the most shopping orders ? Trying to figure that out .. đ€
2nd shift 4-11pm
I got this email a couple of days ago for non deliveries opportunities
Around a month ago I was sent a survey that this seems to be tied to. It was about what they called dasher tasks. Things like helping a merchant as a backup cashier or in the kitchen but even asked about odd jobs for homeowners like hanging Christmas lights. So itâs probably just going to be random odd jobs. Iâd assume in the trial period it would be simple thing just for DoorDash until they decide to go with it and offer it to merchants or the public
Helping a merchant as a backup cashier? You'd need training on their system etc can't see that happening. It's got to be something that can be done quickly without any additional training or we'd assume risk to the merchant (liability)
@@YourDriverMike it was just one of probably a hundred scenarios that were mentioned. I agree that training would be needed but most pos systems are quite simple and donât require much at all. I canât remember the whole list but dish washing, backup cook, and unloading freight were other things mentioned. The tasks for DoorDash i can think of off the top of my head were verifying hours, and investigating undelivered orders. There were some for homeowners as well and hanging Christmas lights was one of them. I only remember that one because it went a little more in depth saying that it would be the customers responsibility to provide any ladders. I definitely marked that one as I wouldnât be interested. It was basically just random odd jobs. For Iâm sure many more than me to be sent a survey about a month ago and now the email you received to not be related somehow would be pretty unlikely. I was simply just trying to add a few pieces to the puzzle. I donât think anyone will know what DoorDash has planned until they start trials in certain areas like they always do
Something that needs to be audited is verifying the time it takes to get orders ready for pick up once order is placed. Locally I will get message saying it is ready for pick up but the restaurant has not even started preparing the order. So frustrating.
By the way I received the email. Waiting to see if anything is offered.
A week ago I also received an email saying I was âprioritizedâ for shop and deliver in my area. Since then each day I dash I get almost nothing but shop and deliver for several hours. Still not sure if this is a blessing or curse at this point.
I got the email a week ago, it's verifying store hours for holidays, ask for store hours is all it said but I'm sure there is more.
Hey Mike!
Hope youre doing well!đ†Sounds interesting this new pilot trend!đ†Have you tried it out yet? Is this a new test pilot? Perhaps a new added update? đ€ Anyhow, may all your shifts be profitable and stay safe always!đâ€
I was waiting for him to say but only in Delaware and Alaska.
I got it two days ago. Iâve taken menu pictures for prices once. Been dashing for a year. Last 6 months I have been dashing 12 hour days.
Just received another email this morning. Itâs about 4th of July hours and verification. SMH đ€Šââïž
Could DD be adding house cleaning, dog walking, misc task like that?
I believe it is something completely different than what youâre saying. I think it is a way for restaurants to get extra help when they need it.
For example, if job blows restaurant has four people called off today needs three dishwashers and a server doesnât have enough. They can place an order through DoorDash and you actually go work a shift.
I just received an email about one of the task they're looking for in this new pilot program here is some of what the email said.
While Dashing during the week leading up to 7/4/2024, you may receive offers with pay details, to go to certain Merchants to ask for their Independence Day (July 4th) store hours. Most of these tasks will be released on 7/2/2024 - 7/3/2024.
Why am I doing these tasks?
You can now play a part to help your fellow Dashers! For every store you submit accurate hours for, you will save on average, two store closed cancellations for Dashers and Customers. Note: Your inputs will be used to help us update store hours and impact store operations, so please ensure their accuracy.
Seen the $1 take picture of menu twice
nothing yet in Nashville tenn. I did get an email say since i am very consistent with shops, i will be getting priority on the shopping orders
Iâm up the road in Portland and got the email. Also received the prioritized for shop and deliver.
I received the email last Wednesday 6/26 and I live in the Oshkosh, WI area
They need to be careful in cities like Albany Ga
Thatâs old news my friend it started in November here in South Carolina
Would screen shots of online menu count
Ive never seen the email about "New Earnings Opportunities" or the one about $1 menu photos, despite being a Platinum dasher
It might be verifying prices. Seems like every time I go to Dollar General. Their prices are different than what DoorDash shows.
I got it but didnât think it was anything special..havenât seen anything pop up while dashing yet.
Only if in route to an order or drop off or I was in the area. I wouldnât go there just to do none delivery one off task offers
I mean how can I know if I want to opt out without any details ?
Good point, currently beta tested markets should get more info soon
Iâm switching especially on busy weekends from pay per order to pay per time to drastically increase my earnings. I had a good cancellation so I got to keep his food especially since he was rude despite my communication with him. Iâd admit it got cold but I got microwave đźso I reheated a part when I got home
how desperate does DOORTRASH think there drivers are only worth a dollar? when are they going to raise base pay?
so you would just wait and not take a photo? Lets say you have 10 jobs a week with that phot. $10.... if you ignore that for a whole year that is $520.
Raise base pay?...Get Real, they're probably trying to figure out how much more to Lower it!
that's rite I'm not a doordash puppet!!! I not sure how many establishments you pick up from but I'm sure it's not going to add up to $500. maybe if your lucky you might make $20 start knowing what your time is worth
They should make a food critic option. "Pick up Baja blast, and explain the notes, flavors and aftertaster in detail: 15 dollars"
What if they have you go to a restaurant, order an item, take a picture of it, then they compensate you for the cost plus pay you?
You would get a free meal and get paid in the process.
I donât care itâs a way to make money when itâs not busy and you canât get orders, I just fear this thing wonât last long because it seems if you are correct about what it could be, it just means that it seems almost like a 1 and done type of thing
Email I got 2 days ago is the normal Platinum Gold and Silver
Itâs like a secret shopper, right? Thereâs a few apps that do that already
Got the email today! Hopefully itâs a good pay. Wonder wtf it is
Update⊠they sent me email taking a survey took like 2mins. $20
wonder if doordash is gonna have a go at a service like task rabbit, where if you provide proof you got tools they could dispatch ya to do weird one off stuff like change a doorknob, put together some ikea funiture, or other minor handyman tasks.
Interesting. I would hope they don't auto opt me in for doing those type of tasks because putting furniture together is not my jam.
@@eringibbs7752 I hope its not the case either. While I can do all those things I listed, Task rabbit was a nightmare because 90% of the customers on there didnt usually pay anything close to what it was worth to go mess do any of the tasks on there. Ikea bought them and now its mostly just a dispatch service for furniture assembly. lol
I've shopped at a winn dixie for pickup. It was kind of weird.
@YourDriverMike the new earnings opportunities is making sure 4th of July hours are correct. Thatâs it.
It sounds like there are a few different people saying otherwise because they have already done one-off tasks.
Sounds like secret shopper to me
Very curious what this will be!
I want you to take pictures of a restaurant's menu where they don't have a contract.
Couldn't Doordash verify prices of restaurants off of restaurants apps that customers order from?
đ€ sounds sketchy so for a 1$ we are investigators and why would a restaurant k owing you are a driver wouldn't want dd to have pictures of the menu.
Just had my first non-delivery today. It was at Winn-Dixie for 16 items. Pay was $13.77. took me maybe 20 minutes. I was really confused cuz I'm used to shop and pay orders. You have to purchase just like you normally would. Except there's an extra barcode to scan to let them know it's a bag order. You then have to take it to the curbside pickup area after you've paper bagged everything. You have to input how many types of bags for ambient freezer and cooler. Place the stickers in the bag. Put it on the shelf. Scan each shelf and each bag scan code. Like I said it maybe took me 20 to 25 minutes max. Easy pay!
Sounds like a shop only order on instacart. Sometimes they aren't bad but you also cannot be tipped for it. So the pay is the pay
@@myarmsurhearse base pay was 11, with a 2 sometime dollar odd tip
Bro Iâve only ever got the $1 for menu pic maybe twice in 6 months⊠itâs not that great.
Iâve done menu pics
Thanks for sharing, wondering what this new thing is
So in a nutshell, if DD could turn the dashing sensation into an addictive video game ,Dashers would be signing up in droves and pay DoorDash to Dash.
Number of employees. Condition of business how much help employees were and or product line and prices
Got the email yesterday. Iâm In Ocala, Florida
Thanks for sharing, the email I was forwarded was a FL market as well
@@YourDriverMike youâre welcome!
I don't deliver enough, I don't get many promos until my rates get even higher
GOOD LUCK!
Whats the odds YOU of 1000+ dashers in your area are selected for the $1. lmao. $1.
Iâve gotten them all. AR 10. Ok. đ
Am top dasher but not getting oder
No I have not got the email
Got the email a few days agoâŠCleveland market
I got that email in the Atlanta area
Been getting the $1 menu photos since mid 2023. But that is all
I havenât gotten any email of non delivery
Thanks for watching
the big clue it says collecting info
Got the email. đ
I think it may be secret shopping
Could be, or some secret auditor task? We'll see
It sounds like Doordash is in the survey game
Seems like youâd make more money by Multiapping in your downtime.
I havenât got the email đ đ đ
Perhaps itâs a secret shopper?
Thatâs what Iâm thinking. Could be ones verifying inventory of grocery stores and pricing.
I'm thinking it could be an extension of that menu picture task, we'll see
Maybe the merchant needs a dishwasher or Is Understaffed and u can. Opt in to help them to do simple task for pay đ that would be cool. Kinda like task rabbit!!
So secret/mystery shopping.
Imagine if no one tip( the app would shut down)âŠ. The app and company only work cause ppl tip cause no one is driving a order for 2 bucks
Lol got the email last night. Paying us to be spys!đđ
Thanks for sharing, which market?
