Hell yeah, I can finally be a waterbender!
Literally what I was thinking as I'm watching this
I like Toph!!
@@indriadrayton1132 Toph uses Chow Gar. The rest of earth benders use Hung Gar and water benders use Tai Chi
Honestly same I enjoy tai chi I didn’t even know it’s the form water benders use cool
I see you favor the White Lotus gambit. Not many still cling to the ancient ways.
It’s funny, but I used to laugh at the people in the park doing this, I think because deep down I was jealous of them. I always wanted to learn how to do it but before social media it just wasn’t possible. After 34 years as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator my back and shoulders and the rest of my body are shot. I was strung out on pain killers and opiates for years and I couldn’t work and eventually became homeless. I took a hard look at my life and decided to stop that and began a series of stretches and I learned that yoga and tai chi wasn’t just a load of bs for the trendy set! There’s much wisdom here! I am housed now and begin each day doing my series of stretches and workouts and I took myself off all the pain medicine. Thanks for your self deprecating way of sharing the Chinese names for the moves, don’t sweat any fools who talk trash on CZcams, anyone who does it can’t have much character or moral integrity anyhow! Liked and subscribed! 💪👊👍🤙🫶🤝
Amazing to hear your life is better, I have similarities to you. Do not ever give up and keep going. It's genuine people like you that keeps this world going round giving people hope wisdom and self belief. Good on you buddy
@@CptZypher thank you sir, I do, everyday! And to you as well! 🙏💪👊👍
Your like a fitness Bob Ross. Thank you for helping my physical and mental journey. I'm down 5 lbs and I'm starting to see some toning. I couldn't do a pushup a month ago. Yesterday I did 60 knee push-ups. No joint pain. Thank you, cap'n
@This dumb guy my German Shepherd, Bella
@This dumb guy haha no, that's just the goodest girl ever
That's so awesome! keep up the good work!
Oh well done ✅🙂 Hun
Plus I'm going to give you a virtual hug🤗☺️ I love Bob Ross (yes I know he has passed away unfortunately damn shame) last year in lockdown in UK I was at my mum's house we both shielding and on BBC 4 at 7pm each nite of the week the started showing Bob Ross the joy of painting. My mum is severely vision impaired/blind n it has helped her to see the world differently in that when she looks up at the sky she's seeing cloud's and in her mind she realises oh Bob did that the other day. In a way what little sight she has n that is blurred, she purposefully looks for different sky's n cloudscape, trees the colours around the area she lives. I'm grateful to Bob Ross for that and the peace he instilled n still instills today. ☺️❤️
How far are you down now
Just looking at this is so peaceful, I could imagine how peaceful it feels actually doing it
You should try it out!
I wish that I could train with him

If people try this and like it, I'll make a continuation of this form! The full thing can be done in around 7-15 minutes depending on how slow we go.
Also, the timecode is completely wrong. The complete form starts 9:19.
Hybrid Calisthenics I’ll definitely be trying this
Yes please! I was going to ask you about Tai Chi videos. It seems that you read my mind. Thanks!
I absolutely love this! I've been wanting to learn tai chi but there's no good resources online for it and I considered asking if you'd make some but in a previous video you said it was difficult to teach :) thank you so much for this! It'll help me get through my online classes
This is so great! Thank you. 🙏
Practiced this form this morning. The natural flow of it all feels great, and actually reminds me of when I was a student in Shaolin Kung Fu (Mizu) :D
The full thing was be awesome to learn!
“Meditation in motion”
Great stuff, thanks for sharing! 🙏
Thanks for watching! Glad you like it.

Beautiful.
Amen
Part of the ship, part of the crew
Can anyone explain me the meaning of the comment.
More Tai Chi, please!! You are kind, helpful, and have such a calming presence
Please make a full Tai Chi video. Thank you.
I appreciate how THOROUGHLY you explain the moves. I’m slow at learning physical coordination and have had so much trouble in dance and martial arts classes my whole life because the teachers show us the overall moves and then expect us to do them. I need your kind of breakdown to understand, this was so much easier to get!!
Hey! I’m a tai chi instructor myself and your videos on developing physical strength and agility have been a huge inspiration to me. I realised how helpful it is to improve my foundations. I was very excited to find out you even have some experience in tai chi! It’s extremely rare to find people practicing from a young age here. Much love from Germany!
Damn, I can’t imagine how I’ll end up w/o watching your videos. Growing up as a kid in China I’m always ashamed of not being able to perform push ups and pull ups. While I learned tai chi as a mandatory course during college (yes mandatory), the teacher made it such a humiliating experience that no one wants to touch tai chi after the exam. those mandatory courses just to pass qualifications and body shames from PE teachers really killed all the joy despite I do want to learn those movements. Your videos show that I CAN actually do them without “just keep trying” mentality or being genetically gifted and I could just focus on progressing one day at a time. I just want to thank you for sharing your philosophy on doing whatever movements that completely changed my views on them and allow me to leave those PTSDs behind. Thank you so much Hampton
I loved it Hampton. I think this is something this 62 year old can do everyday!
Try it out and let me know what you think!
Actually Tai Chi is for every age. I love Tai Chi. It keeps you healthy and it's like a meditation.
Thank you for sharing all of this information with the world!! I am recovering from knee surgery and have been looking for ways to incorpate gentle movements back into my life. I have always appreciated your kind and humorus demeanor, physical activity can be daunting when you haven't done much, but your support makes it worth the effort :)
Huge respect for someone keeping such mindfulness during this time in the world, im glad i get to be a part of the crew
Oh so seriously timely, was just missing my class. Yes, please, more would be great.
More coming!
I would love to see a play list of Tai chi. You asked, I answered. More tia chi
My favorite part was time marker 7:49-7:51, "Be water my friend."
I think I recall hearing Bruce Lee say that during an interview when his career was really booming. Thank you, Hampton for this awesome information and for the demonstrations too. Please take care and stay healthy. (Smile)
Having the 2 parts to your video is awesome! Talk and no talk combination is incredibly helpful !
"let me know if you want more Tai Chi content"
This is me letting you know :)
I love the sound of the nature in the background
Young man, you are a well composed, thoughtful and intelligent teacher. I would think that you will have a bright future. By the way, I myself, do enjoy hearing the Chinese language for the forms. 😊
It's rare that someone can do both the "hard" stuff and the "soft" stuff so well. Nicely done!
Thank you for this. Be like water is one of the most profound teaching I've ever received, and one of the hardest to put into practice regularly.
I am a doctor who is interested in physiology and I found out different types of exercises effects different receptors in the body and do different stuff. Slow fluid movements with lots of mucles involved especially good for muscle strength, bone health and joint health. It also increases attention span and decreases inflamation. (This is just summary since going into receptors, immun response and neurotranmitters would be too much for a youtube comment)
Aerobic exercises also have antiinflamataury effects since it increases cortizol(stress hormone) but this has different effects since it directly stimulate main inhibitory receptors than just do temporary stress response,I realised this type of excersize with breathing exercises actually helped my adhd symptoms. So in short we shouldnt stick to one exercise type and do some variety time to time.
Brilliant teacher! You make sure we get it! Wd love more taichi, pls!
This is so freaking cool. I've been wanting to add this to my mindfulness and meditations. I have covid again so I have to take it easy and I need to relieve stress as well as move my body gently. This is PERFECT.
Hope this helps you!
I would love it if you made more tai chi videos. You're a great teacher!
Over a decade ago I took a class in Wu style tai chi and learned the whole series. Hampton, you brought it back to my attention how meditative/helpful tai chi is! Is this the speed at which you actually practice? Id love to see you do a separate follow-along video where you don’t change camera angles so we can see what direction we should be facing. Thanks for all of your efforts on our behalf and have a beautiful day!
Wu Style Tai Chi for the win! Do you still remember the forms?
OMG, watching you do the form was simply beautiful! Thank you. I am getting older now and can't seem to find exercises I enjoy doing so want to try this. Again, you looked so beautiful doing the form!
I would love to see an extended form. My wife and I us this as part of our morning warm up routine.
How love to hear what you've learned. The more we share constructively, the better we all become.
I'm feeling he gonna KAMEHAMEHA at some point.
Same
He can easily do it. But it might be a bad idea for other people to know.
@Kazik Majster Umm... Are you talking about "KAMEHAMEHA, the Great", who was the founder and first ruler of the Kingdom of Hawaii? I lived there for a few years in the early 90s so I remember very little about the history but I so happened to remember that. LOL! (Smile)
@@Love-Is-Kind no he is talking about an anime called Dragon Ball Z
@@the_bob_147 Ha ha ha! 😂🤣 My bad. Whoopsies! 🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️😂🤣👍🏽 Thanks for clearing that up for me. I’m going to sit alone facing the corner of the room with my cone of shame now. 😊😉
This is Fantastic!!! I know I am late, but I hope you make more of these. Great form and I love your comments and ease. ❤❤❤
09:18 is actually when you show the whole thing :D
It's perfectly balanced, as all things should be
So thankful you're back Hampton!👍💪🤗
Just by watching it, i feel relaxed.
You are such a good teacher! Thank you! I’m so glad I found this video. I’d love to see more from you.
More more more .. I feel amazing 😍
I have CKD stage 5 I've been eating healthy foods fruits vegetables no oils. Some fish and shellfish I've been doing yoga and now Tai chi I enjoy it very much.
I had my very first lesson yesterday and it does look very interesting to me, but also a bit difficult to remember if not repeated enough. Thank you for this video! It is very helpful!!
I’ve seen that Tai Chi is good for promote mental relaxation and reduce stress so I am here to learn,
Thank you a lot ❤ from uk 🇬🇧
As a Chen style practitioner, I find your movementes both odd and familiar, and it made me miss so much the good times of practicing outside with mi group ans shifu. I hope you can continue making videos about Taijiquan. It is a beautiful art an I'm always happy when more people can learn about it.
Yes please, more please. 😊
Thank you very much for this tutorial! Tai chi always looked interesting to me but my social anxiety used to be so bad that I didn't even dare to dance even when I was alone in my room where nobody could see me. This fortunately isn't the case anymore. So I decided to start doing tai chi every morning from now on. I'm hoping to be consistent with this and to learn the principles behind it so that I can one day be at peace with myself and maybe also get off of my medication. Small steps! 😇
Part of the ship part of the crew thanks captain hybrid!!
I for one definitely want more Tai Chi instruction videos.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you brother.
Love the way you teach and I really appreciate your simplicity..
Best wishes.
Thank you for this video, I've always wanted to learn Tai Chi! I hope to see more of these vids!

I like hearing the Chinese names, it’s not pretentious, it’s accurate.
This is a fantastic routine. I love the moves and appreciate hearing the Chinese names. Also, like your chill vibe. 🙏🏻
Please do more of these. This is unbelievably cool and accessible. I have a genetic condition that makes exercise difficult and this is absolutely perfect :)
I really enjoy the tai chi content i think its great as intended as a morning meditation wake up movement. Im going to practice this thankyou so much
Hampton, your friend from Canada, I am a follower of you, you are an inspiration for me to get better in my life (Physically and Mentally), I ordered your book, it is almost here, and can’t wait to have this master piece in my hands, I love what you do, even I am way older than you, 50 years, I have learned so much from you, not only from the physical aspects, but life in general, I am blessed that I came to know you through your various videos, and those lessons on Tai Chi, is just among one that will help me cope with my depression, I already transitioned my diet from garbage to a more healthy version home made food (50% Vegetables, 25% Protein, and 25% Whole Grains), and the transitioned from eating fast food garbages that led me to 110 kg t 5’4”, I can say I am obese, and I will follow your exercises routine, and transition a from a couch potato.

I have been studying Tai Chi for a couple of years on and off and this is a great way for me to practice briefly and center myself at home. Thank you!
He's a great teacher😲
Loved the crickets.
Thanks for this! I did Taekwondo for 14 years before my knee finally gave out, and I've missed martial arts a great deal. I've been wanting to find something that captures the same type of motion without being too heavy on the joints for a long time now, this is fantastic!
Been doing this close to every day for a few weeks. Its so good to help the days not blend together to have something thats just for me in my life. Highly recommend doing it every mourning. Its only a few seconds long but it can change my entire day.
I'll try for the first time, it looks so relaxing and satisfying 🎉
More of these videos PLEASE!!
I love that you are sharing Taichi with us, now! When I saw the title of this video, I thought, "Of course! This makes total sense for Hampton to do Taichi!" It just fits. Thank you! I have been learning Qigong this past year and Taichi is always something I have wanted to learn. Thank you!

I’ve been weight training for around 25 years. Due to so many injuries from racing motorcycles and hard work, I’ve been put on disability. I’ve looked for something I can do at 55 without hurting myself. I think I just found it. Thank you for sharing this with me.
Thank you, please more tai chi. Very first time ever trying it and it’s being so munch inner focus and calmness everyone needs
Thank you so much for this one. I am not exactly at a good mental space right now and this was a bit of exercise that didn't overwhelm me. It was fun!
Yes! More tai chi please!
I love this! I like your explanations and I love it when you use both the original Chinese and the translation. I like this bc I’ve been needing beginners guidance on where to start after tai chi walking.
I can't wait to do this!
