Nice work lads👍 Coming along nicely now. Really enjoying all your videos . Some great tips and knowledge of mr2s
I will be dropping the engine out of my jdm tintop gen2 turbo in a few weeks time for a full maintenance overhall. With all the information and the tools and service parts to hand. Roughly how long should it take to drop it out and re fit? I have plenty of experience playing with cars and i am confident enough with my skils. Obviously unforseen thing can slow you down. Only asking because i will have time restrictions on the garage i will be using. Again respect from ireland for all the work you guys put in🙏
My long term plan is 2gr 🤟

Thanks for the feedback. It really depends on the prep work you do ahead of dropping engine. The process can be done in a day but there are always delays with that one nut or bolt that is stubborn. I would recommend a day to disconnect all the parts attached to engine and body, drain fluids and then the next day to drop engine and do the required maintenance . Third day to install and button everything up, fluids etc. assuming your working alone

@bitingantz Thanks for speedy response . That great news as I should have a week and a pair of spare hands for the lift in and out.
I have put a complete list of parts tools and the plan to do the job based mainly on your detailed videos.
Keep up the good work chaps 🙏

With a week and a good plan you should have no issues getting it done. Let me know how it goes.

Awesome. Think I might pull the trigger and undergo this swap on my NA. Where do you recommend sourcing a Gen4 3SGTE from? Thanks

Local engine seller or eBay at this point would be your source

Is it best to drop the whole thing with transmission attached and keep attached when you put it in? I'm planning to do oil pump and some other gaskets. I assume I'm taking the trans off at some point just for ease of moving it all around?

Yes drop as a whole and do what is needed outside the car. If your only working on timing side it can be done with engine in car but space it limited to work.
