Its very educational and the teaching is spot on ! i learnt to ski as a kid in Penang where we had a house on the beach so we were skiing most weekends.I progressed to slalom and loved it. What a fantastic video! I too wish I had this information when I started in the mid 80's. Growing up there was nothing cooler than seeing a really good skier throw up walls of water. Now it seems like most kids would rather be pulled on tubes or those inflatable couches which is unfortunate.

When I was learning to ski , back in the 70's I was mostly behind a less powerful boat, so coming up on one ski
a different technique was needed. Just one foot in the ski with the other leg trailing, then once up put the other foot in.
On a more powerful boat, both feet in is fine. I remember doing a dock start behind a Mastercraft.
Also I was told to hold the handle with one hand up and the other down. As opposed to both hands down when going
on two skis. Good video though.

And the mini slalom course/driving the boat outside the course between boat guides and outside buoy. All "GREAT TIPS" very informative and good reminders. The best vid i have found so far. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words. Please share 😎. The hands position is dependent on the foot forward for slalom. Refer 19:50 in the video. For learning on 2 skis, both palms down. If you left foot forward, left palm down, and right palm up. Or vice versa if you right foot forward.

Thanks for watching. You definitely need to try slalom. HO Skis have some great products to learn to slalom. Yes. Definitely you can wakeboard without the tower. The tower just helps with lift and for better jumps a little bit but is not absolutely nescary. It depends on your level but if you just want to do some basic tricks and jumps you Don't need the tower

I feel like the, "throw them in the water and they'll learn how to swim," technique works more in water skiing. Precautions in water skiing like weights, throw off their weight and they won't learn as quickly to control their own weight rather with external weight. I know why people would use a tie for the skis being together, don't use them. Get hurt, learn to keep the skis together. You can't slalom with tied skis.

granted new boats are expensive. But you don't need a new boat to ski.. Market place has hundreds of boats under $10k you can ski behind. Depending where you live, you don't need a boat. There are cable parks and clubs you can ski at for little $$

      Hey guys
After you have spent a while doing it yourself, try a day or better yet a week at a ski school. You will be pleasantly shocked at your own abilities when you know what to do on the water. Who am I ? I am an old guy now who started out as a “recreational skier” from ages 6 - 21...then went on to become a tournament skier who started as a novice skier in 1976 and advanced to Open Men skier in 1979. Along the way, I qualified and skied in the US Team trials and the Masters at Calloway Gardens, won State, Regional and Nationals gold (twice each in slalom and tricks) and set 14 regional records and two national records along the way.
I took lessons from some of the top skiers in the world and later even beat them in record capability tournaments!
I studied their technique on super 8 video in the winter and perfected my own technique in the spring/summer.
There was no CZcams back then...and lots of seasoned veteran skiers asked me how I advanced so quickly.
It was by studying my 1970’s version of CZcams combined with many hours of practice....

That’s what my coach said and it worked I’m doing the course and I’ve only been skiing for a month but you do need a lot of practice for slalom but she give them to much help like a easy up handle
