You need to hear Ghost River. Marko and Floor has a dialogue there as well. And you need to hear Isäni Ääni /The voice of my father by Marko, a soloalbum by him, where he sings in both Finnish and English. 😊

Thank you so much for helping me, I find new music through reaction channels as I find it easier to try new music alongside other first time listeners, and through you, I have found Nightwish, I was aware of them before but never fully invested, but you having this channel has opened my eyes, and I can't thank you enough

this is for me the most musical theater they get. at first didn't care for it but now, It's amazing.

To me personally, this has always been one of my favourite Nightwish songs and when I realized back then they'd finally play it live my very first thought (despite "FINALLY") was just "oh my god finally this will get the recognition and hype it deserves ;___;♥"... And luckily, so it did! (Imho still one of Floor's bestlive performances with Nightwish ever.)
I think it has some Phantom of the Opera vibes to it in a way and overall could be straight from a musical theatre play. Floor's respective training sure came in handy here and made her and the rest of the band slay the performance even more!!
I really hope this won't be just a one-time part of their live setlist for the best of. They hopefully are aware of how many people now adore this one performed live and maybe put it on the list for other tours as well. (One can dream, right? :P)
By the way, I indeed would love to know how many times you listened to that one part while editing ;P

Floor is a valkyrie who choose those who may die in battle and those who may live. Selecting among half of those who die in battle the valkyries take their chosen to the afterlife hall of the slain, Valhalla.
My second favorite Nightwish song (after "Yours is an Empty Hope). I think of "Devil..." as a mini-mini opera". Great that you pointed out that they are acting, not just singing.
Mini-mini-opera makes sense to me! It reminded me somewhat of the story behind a tango actually. It was very clear to me that there was a sense of anger and betrayal...as is the tango. Very well executed...yet again :)
This was turned all the way up to 11! Manic, crazy energy levels.

I just found out on my video from this concert that she was apparently sick or recovering from the flu at this time which is pretty amazing. You can barely tell except for certain tiny tiny moments and I only notice because of the amount I have heard her voice now live. So good.

Yeah, you're right, maybe someone should tell Marvel to hire Floor and NW if they want to get epic storytelling and music. And, no surprise, any song you listen to from NW becomes your favourite until the next one you listen, back and forth

Love your reaction. I always was drawn to this song on the album but it never felt complete. This was before Marko and Floor joined Nightwish. But this rendition also brought me to tears when I heard it the first time. So I get the emotions. Music is a powerful thing.
One of my other favorites is Weak fantasy preformed at Tempere. I think you would like that one too. Kai has a great moment in the beginning of that performance.
I actually came across a version from 1998 with a different male vocalist. I was investigating as I heard Marko add a word that was not in the official lyrics. I much prefer Marko's voice. Marko and Floor finish the song I think. But to be fair...haven't heard Tarja sing this yet...
@Viking Reacts Tarja does a wonderful job on her version of the song. Don’t get me wrong. I love her style of singing a lot. But with this song I think Floor adds more drama and storytelling. And Marko is just perfect with everything he does and adds so much to it too. Just so much love for this band and everything they do.

Listen to some old NW with Taria before Poet and try to understand the concept behind The greatest by listening of some songs from this album. Both of those huge songs sounds much better if You understand clearly whats behind them. Thats why I suggest to grow the beard a bit. I hope You didn't regret this delay so far.

At 9:08, you carded 'That last bit of keyboard by Tuomas was amazing'. Where you talking about that slide? If so that was actually Troy on his guitar, not his bouzouki, with an e-bow. At 8:42 there's a side shot of Troy and a bit further on when they shoot and slight panning overhead of Emppu you can just get a glimpse of Troy's feet on his riser.

Slaying the dreamer or kinslayer from the same concert, in kinslayer Marco forgot his lyric, both great tunes and the crowd make this concert a great watch .
Marko forgetting his lyrics? I can hardly imagine! But I will surely check it out. Did you know that he actually made a small mistake in this performance? The second line in the official lyrics say: "Poet of ancient gods" and he sings "Poet of THE ancient gods". Nothing special but that is why I had "the" in between parentheses in the subtitles ;)

You cannot go wrong with any song you choose, whether your own or sub suggestion, as there is not a bad song among the lot. Shudder Before the Beautiful, from Buenos Aires 2015 and that shows' opener, is one such song.

@@VikingReacts VERY much so. if you really want to hear the drums well, check out the bloodstock video of this song. this version is superior in every way but the drums are much more crisp in the bloodstock 2018 video, i recommend you checking it out on your own time. so glad you enjoyed this song, it punches you right in thr face in the best way possible

They have indeed been recommended a lot. I've decided to react to them as soon as my own brew of mead is done ;). I just transferred it to start aging. A few weeks and it should be ready :)

Holy Hell! I remember this one as one of my first Nightwish songs just right after the release of Oceanborn. For months and months there was nothing but NIGHTWISH 'OCEANBORN' for me. I mean, that CD probably never stopped spinning till it was dead and broken \m/

Actually Marko is not underrated at all. Here in Finland he is one of godfathers of Heavy Metal 🤘 I saw him live first time in 1987, thats’ 34 years ago, with his band Tarot. It was great time. Greets from Finland 🤘🙏🏻❤️🇫🇮
