Performance is the reason that you would be installing headers,so it makes sense to install the components that will gain the most power. Unless you’re restricted by emissions factors, or you are concerned about having to make additional modifications to make long tubes fit, go with the long tubes. Also remember it’s cheaper to do it once. Buyers remorse can be expensive.

I know and u could tell by the video on the mid pipes both sound and power. With the h pipe you could hear that old school push rod muscle sound deeper more aggressive and you could tell car was pulling harder bc the h makes better torque. What did yall feel on the headers seemed like on the take off the shorties left hander than the long tubes

The main sound difference is at the engine compartment. Long tube have more ecoing noise from the long tubes, where the short tubes are quieter in the engine bay. You can also hear long tube headers ecoig off things as you drive by, and there more noticeable slow idling through a parking lot ecoing off cars. I am about th switch to short tube on my cleveland. As far as sound goes they sound better for street rods, long tube are better for race track and top of the RPM range. On the dyno the shortys will produce more torque and mid range, long tube will have better top end HP. You only see top end HP for a sec, right before you change gears. So for N/A cars short might even be faster.

Depends on your setup. For example, i have a 4000rpm stall. In a race situation, i would never feel any low end loss, because my engine goes from idle to 4k instantly. And it stays in upper rpms so i get to reap the benefits of the longtubes the entire time, being that my rpms dont drop. Racing is more than throwinf parts together. I did alot of calculating for my truck. My stall speed is also my engines peak tq rpm. And its also about 1000rpm after my cam starts coming alive. So when i floor it i am in the optimal rpm range every time no matter what.

The sound is compressed because of the consumer camera and also extra compressed for youtube. If he was to record this with the Sennheiser MKH416 Super Cardioid Condenser Microphone, I bet there will be a huge difference in sound. Uploading anything on youtube will compressed and destort the hell out of the sound.
