    Recipe starts at 2:12. I used a BPA free crock-pot liner bag for easy cleanup. Recipe link is in description box above. I would suggest using 1 can of biscuits instead of two unless you like a lot of biscuits. Remember to make your dumplings small so they cook correctly. Times may vary depending on your Crock-Pot. If you want it to have a thinner consistency then just add more water or broth.

      I made this and I cut the dough into small pieces, but even after 2 hours they still didn't seem cooked. Very doughy. Not sure if that's normal. Any suggestions? Loved your video btw.

      Thank you so much! Do you mean you only cooked it on High for 2 hours? It needs to be cooked on high between 5-6 hours.

      Oh oh okay.... I'm not sure then... I make this a lot and don't have any issues... Some crock pots do cook at higher temps than others so that could possibly be the issue 🤷 I'm sorry!!!

    Wow, great recipe. I'm a single guy living on a boat so I'm always looking for easy things to prepare and cook. This was the bomb! I can't say it enough. The two things I changed were adding pepper at the beginning while it was cooking and adding frozen peas when I through the biscuits in. I also cut my biscuits into fours instead of rolling them. I think this may have made my dumplings a little fluffier, they were good. I have a small 2 quart crock pot and it was perfect for two hearty meals. Would love more easy crock pot recipies. PLEASE!!!!

    Been looking for a quick, cheap, fast C and D recipe, and I think this one is a winner!!!
    I would add another onion and a clove of garlic! I also like a bag of frozen peas as well.
    Even some chopped mushrooms. Instead of water, I'd put veggie bouillon.
    It's rare I eat salt, usually just on french fries or mashed potatoes. I make my own "all-spice" in a shaker container I use instead of salt on foods I make. Pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, basil, thyme, rosemary, parsley, chili powder, and oregano. Been doing this for many years now, and it always makes everything taste good without overpowering the dish or using salt!

    This worked out perfectly for me except I added chicken bouillon cubes for more authentic flavor as well as chopped carrots 🥕 and celery and instead of water I used plain chicken broth to cook the chicken till it fell off the bones. Then I removed the bones and put just the chicken meat back in and added the veggies 🥗 , cream of chicken 🐔 and biscuits in last. It turned out incredible!

    What was the texture of the dumplings using this method. I tried making Bisquick dumplings in a soup. But the dumplings were so fluffy they didn't even taste cooked. Turned out they were supposed to be fluffy like cake. Really didn't like it. Trying to find a method with a better texture. Growing up my grandmother used to make doughboys. They were heavier and denser and had a bit of "chew" to them. That's what I'm trying to find. It would have been great if you showed yourself cutting into the doughboys since they were supposed to be the star of the dish. Nice video! Thanks!

      @ChristyNicole  Před 3 lety

      Yes. It's a crock pot liner. Super easy cleanup! Some crock pots run very high for some reason and that does happen. I've never had that issue though. Definitely would give it a shot and see what happens.

    • @lemyaknight
      @lemyaknight Před 3 lety

      Don't be scared🙂 if your lid fits good then you can also put water between the bag and the crock pot insert to prevent the bottom from sticking and burning the food inside the crock pot bag ( it will steam the food layer at the bottom instead of burn it especially since some crock pots run hot) also if you forget the crock pot on too long or if you're at work.
      I do it all the time just in case.

      Awe thank you very much! We had to cancel Universal, New Orleans and Italy for this year 😭😭😭 We will definitely go camping more since we can't do much of anything else. Going to make the best of the situation 🤷

    Was that a chicken breast or thighs or does it matter. And also with the onion it seems to disappear when I cook onions and I don't really taste it, does it matter to really use onion or can you really taste it? The recipe looks really good.

      Thank you! I used chicken breasts. I've always used the onions, but feel free not to.
