  • In this video we show a Bosch 18 seer variable heat pump with a Carrier 2 stage performance series high efficiency furnace. This system is zoned in order to perfectly control the upstairs and downstairs.

Very nice. I did basically the same thing in my home. Tempstar full mod furnace with a Bosch heat pump and two zones. Works great.

How the static with both stats calling for full cooling lot duct run can you cool both up stairs at the same time. What about humidity control for the basement. Your bypass with one supply damper closed hi stage heat what's your air temp at the furnace circulating that hot air back to the furnace will make your furnace get hot.

My existing system is 3 zones - one being small, two fairly large. It's 2005 vintage - comfort maker Gas furnace and cheap 3 ton A/C outdoor unit.
So, if I want to install the 3 ton Bosch A/C heat pump outdoor.....would it be easy to use the existing coil and/or ductwork in this simple fashion - when the small zone calls, I'd want the blower to turn on a low speed or stage. When any other combo of dampers/zones are in use, the higher speed fan would engage.
It would seem fairly simple logic - the furnace fan motor was replaced once, but not sure what with.
Might this be as simple as some basic logic controllers and rewire of the distribution fan motor?
Or, replacement of the fan motor with a Rescue or other variable speed (or two speed) motor plus the logic?
Alternative would be remove the gas furnace and use new air handler - we'd still need the logic.
For rough idea - two big zones are about 1,000 sf each and sm zone is 600. The small zone is very loud due to the full CFM of the fan being used when only it is calling for heat or A/C.
(I am getting a Bosch installed right now - the package 3 ton - at our small ranch house in Florida)....

What was the square footage for the 5 ton you were using the system on?

IDS 2.0 you shouldnt need a bypass, but I understand why you did it. Also, those Honeywells are 4", not 5". I install the Gensco Columbia G100 filters because they are 5".

Do you disable adaptive sw4-3 for zoning?

Do you mean on the Bosch unit or on the carrier?

@@OnePointLander we leave the Bosch in adaptive mode. We want it to be able to modulate the compressor in this application. In this particular application when one zone calls we are in our low stage and when 2 zones call we modulate up to high stage
