This movie to this day, is still one of my favorite Thomas movies, and despite how flawed and poorly rushed it was especially the ending, it had a great subplot and Thomas and James at each other’s throats was brilliant! Plus The Most Important Thing is Being Friends song is still quite catchy! 😃
So about Thomas acting like going to the Mainland was a big deal despite being there before (like in Special Letter and The Great Race), Thomas was likely so excited because he was getting to go somewhere he didn’t know by his own choice rather than being scheduled too, and when he usually goes to the Mainland it’s probably around the Barrow area. Also as for why Edward was at Tidmouth Sheds, maybe he was missing his friends and wanted to spend time with them. I also think that it would be cool if the Steelworks here was the one Sixteen could’ve worked at, and his accident with him being bought off is what could’ve lead to Frankie and Hurricane struggling.
I still remember watching Journey Beyond Sodor with my grandmother on my TV; and then, I loved the film. But due to 2017 taking a disliking at the start and me being "influenced" by other creators, I tend to "dislike" the movie despite me sating how I love it before. Now coming back to this in present, while yeah, a lot of issues are still a thing, there are a lot of good that I forgot about JBS. For example: the voice acting, the animation (at some parts), the scores and music, and the story itself (except for the rushed/abrupt ending). So in summary, JBS is a pretty good family movie and nice breath if you just want to laugh. If definitely inspired S21's humor. 8/10 Oh my god I wrote a lot.

Also Beresford is like…the most pointless Thomas character outside of Captain (IN BOTH HIS APPEARANCES!) If they would have cut him out, it prolly wouldn’t have made a difference. But yeah, I give this movie a 7/10. Definitely better than other like Great Race, Day of the Diesels, BWBA etc.

Like the animation on the characters is easily the worst part because we all know it is visually distracting and how it feels like the engines don't have weight to them. Beresford was a useless character that should've been taken out completely and actually use the 70 minutes to actually flesh out the ending. Oh really the ending of Hurricane and Frankie should soothed up just because there is too much work at the Steel Works was so rushed. Seeing this kind of redemption trope like this is My Little Pony Equestria Girls level of stupid and lazy. Everything else might be stuff I still enjoyed or things I used to like but not that much. James is easily the best part in this movie because he is hilarious with his banter with Thomas and how he is the one who has functional brain throughout it all. Merlin is good, but so underused like I want him to be the only important experimental engine since he has all the material to be a great character with his basis, backstory, and a celebrity voice actor who did an awesome job. Overall, Journey Beyond Sodor is just good. I was a little too nice to it back in 2017 when all the crappy BWBA came in. The animation just doesn't look like Thomas at all because it was never supposed to be a cartoon in the first place. But, everything else is pretty solid for the most part. It's a lot more straight forward than "The Great Race" and certainly not as a complete snore fest like BWBA was for me.
you wanna know something? when i saw the trailer for the first time, i thought this would be the series finale, and this is why, the scene where thomas prepared to be dropped in the lava is what made think that because i was used to the show being realistic (even though they've been phasing out realism since season 5) and in real life when one dies, they're never heard from again, literally, and they can't continue the show if there is no thomas, but i was wrong, thomas didn't die after all, he got saved by a bucket, also, when i saw the bouncing in thomas and friends i didn't think there was anything wrong with it, in fact i imagined there being bouncing in thomas and friends (specifically the CGI series) as early as 2012 no cap, the trailer also made me predict something that i ended up getting right and that's the show's removal from PBS in 2018, since i thought the show was going to end after journey beyond sodor, i knew that PBS did reruns of older episodes, but wasn't sure if they did reruns of ended shows, but a year later i realized they do play reruns of ended shows, in january 11th 2019 i launched an intentionally short-lived TV station called KSOD-TV and the shows i aired on it were thomas and friends, SML, the annoying orange, the TCC, shining time station, TUGS, the mario and sonic cartoons, futurama and some i don't think you've heard of in late march of 2019 i hyped up airing journey beyond sodor on my TV station and said i'll air it on april 1st, but on april 1st i aired the fanmade version by the JBS group instead of the official version, i shut the TV station down on may 15 2019 because supposed to be a placeholder, i'm now making a reboot of it, and it's going to have more shows and hopefully be picked up on cable outside the local area.

For example, next month I'm gonna be doing a review on Blue Mountain Mystery as that turns 10 years old this year. As for other seasons, I don't really feel like doing so sorry. Too much work, and I probably wouldn't know of much to say about each season that hasn't already been said by other people.
