Glad you found a good one! The right coats can be so hard to find. Quick tip if you're unaware, try not to wad up the jacket too much and definitely don't store it that way for extended time. Over time that can crush the soft fibers/feathers that are in the coat which keep you warm, so always be sure to store it fluffed out in all its glory for the best life span!
If you need to wash it, or the stuffing gets flattened from too many book bag trips, an excellent way to fix it with those puffer-style jackets is to pop it in a tumble dryer with a few of those dryer balls (I use 3 or 4). As the drum turns, the balls basically pummel your coat and fluff up the flattened stuffing again. The bigger the coat, the longer it will need, but I've saved a few coats using that method - it's awesome! 😎💕
That's perfect, Ms. Chang! It's so nice that you gave a shout out to the helpful "grub in a sleeping bag" lady and their store ☺ I'm excited that you're going to Canada. I get it! I mean, It's 27 degrees where I am right now, there's snow on the ground and most around here consider 40 degrees shorts weather but I get cold! I'm sitting inside wearing a stocking cap ❄"a grub in a sleeping bag" is exactly how one wants to feel this time of year!
Hi! I work for Patagonia. The Coat Ms Chang is the proud owner of is a Jackson Glacier Parka in Smolder Blue. I am going to send the ATL Beltline mgmt team the link to this video tomorrow!
I'm so excited to hear you are coming to Canada - but I am very curious to hear why Edmonton in February?! I can't wait to see some Canadian content in your videos!
someone recently told me the true meaning of life is finding a really sick jacket that you just will not shut up about 😂 i also get cold easily and HATE being cold and finally have invested in a nice jacket this year too!! it’s amazing how much it brightens my day to no longer be freezing at all times. i’m from the northeast but have lived in texas and i agree with you, i am going to get the same level of miserable regardless of where i am when i get cold so gimme all the warmth!!!
Enjoy in good health! I am right there with you on the need to feel warm without regard to high fashion! And that coat happens to be beautiful anyway-- great color!
😉🌲🌲❄️🌲🍁🌲🌲❄️🍂🍂 I'm in Appalachians of Pennsylvania, under the Eastern Golden Eagle Flyway ⛰️🏕⛰️🦅🦅🪶 so we're several wee tads colder up here...but not Edmonton, Alberta level cold! 😮 😨🥶❄️🇨🇦🍁❄️❄️❄️ Glad you mentioned your travel plans when buying a coat! Happy and Merry Travels 🌎😊
I’m from Edmonton and our weather this week has been below -30 and that’s Celsius not Fahrenheit. Glad to hear you’re coming and that coat is fabulous but my dear I do hope you bundle up!!
I was also curious too, most folks choose Calgary (for Banff) over Edmonton. Enjoy GETCA! Hopefully the down coat won't be needed too much as we had our big cold snap a few weeks ago (below -40C/F). We've been pretty dry and mild as winters go, but it's still a huge temperature change.
Im always cold and Im in sunny Los Angeles. Anything under 70F is way too chilly for me. Dig the new heavy duty, light weight coat! You wear it well, New School Chang!!
Yes girl!! Perfect coat for Canadian weather! We already have two feet of snow in Ontario. (Yuck) Hope you have an amazing trip and an early "Welcome to Canada!"😊🇨🇦
You must be up north. Let's not let Americans keep thinking all of Canada is cold and snowy .... Most of southern Ontario doesn't have snow in the fall, it might fall once but it melts in a day ....and they probably won't get any snow before xmas.
40°F in Michigan is hoodie weather. -12°F requires that kinds coat, plus multiple layers. I love your content. No hate only love, this had me cracking up as a northerner though!
Great coat, and great story of that great coat! Girl, u better bring that coat AND some layers with u to Canada….cold is gonna git ya! Thank u for putting out this awesome vibe for the world.🌈
Nothing like a good long puffy coat to keep that early morning cold at bay. Atlanta still gets cold overnight. Stay warm and what's that coat called? Looks like a must have!
You are a miracle. I moved slightly south from Chicago just above that darn Mason Dixon line and no one here will wear a proper coat even when there are flurries. You will live long and prosper I can feel it. The coat is awesome too.
Now you make me want one 😂 what was the price tag on it tho 👀🤷🏼♀️😂 I've never owned anything Patagonia. & I live in MD/PA & have very low iron (I take 325MGS a day) & I'm still cold!!
Very nice video, glad she's a teacher referring to her job as "Going to work" as opposed to 'Going to school". I never understood why most teachers say "Going to school.
I have a coat I always describe as a sleeping bag! Only my eyes peak out. 40 is cold. Although, it’s 20 and I haven’t worn my super warm coat yet. You gotta save it for the real cold weather. 😅
Yes, I agree I live in Buffalo NY and I have one of those. I call it my walking sleeping bag. I spent time in Atlanta you have cold winters and roasting summers. Come to NY for a beautiful summer.
Grew up outside of Chicago but going to grad school for a few years now in Tennessee, and I never realized just how different the "winter" coats were down here until this past winter when I was looking for a new coat. I hit like three different stores and all of the coats there were noooooot up to snuff for what I needed. I mean it makes sense because the winters aren't nearly as harsh here, but I figured there would be at least a couple that would work! Ended up waiting and bought a coat when I was back home in Illinois for Christmas XD
My mom worked in Pennsylvania for two years and had a coat similar to yours. We are from Texas and while it does get cold, it does not compare to states that actually have a winter.
This is exciting. We live in Canada. Not "Canada Canada" but it still gets cold enough. When we go somewhere warm in the winter, there is always this hope that a hoodie will be warm enough when we get back because I don't want to take an entire suitcase full of winter coats for the family when going to Mexico. This might actually do the trick.
oh you're going to alberta this febuary nice im from quebec your coat is very good for our cold weather a lot of people in canada wear some coat like this! you made a good choice choising this! :)
Live in Texas, DFW area. Needed a coat for wet and cold weather, found one on Amazon kind of like yours. Tuesday had to go to work it was 17F, I was WARM!
Wonderful! I bought a warmer sleeping bag grub coat today from Columbia on Cyber Monday! I have to go to Missouri in January, and I had to buy a warmer coat just to live in Utah. I might literally become a blonde popsicle in Misery, ahem, Missouri. 😂 I had no idea until recently that coats had warmth ratings. That should be more talked about.
I suggest you call the store manager and tell them how happy you were with the service of that woman. That is some good customer service. A lot of people complain to the manager, so it might be a nice change of pace for them to get compliments.😊
I am in Northern VT and have the slightly shorter version of that coat. Forty degrees in Vermont is shorts weather, but there’s no better coat for -20. I’m never cold in that coat.
I would die of heat exhaustion walking in 40 degree weather in that coat! Definitely a great pick for recess duty though, standing still I get cold FAST. Especially if it's windy.
❤️🔥🙏❤️🔥tha k you from canadas little sister Michigan ❤️🔥🥰❤️🔥 I’m having hubby look into this super warm ac loaded cloak for those born in the most extreme weathers ⚡️❤️🔥⚡️ that being said, layers are our best friends❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 Live you and the fact that you PROMITE the “real life” things and being ga that truly make the difference 😘❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 those “little “ things are the most important… the tales “details “ are the way we SEE each other. 🦁 I Love and thank you for being HERE ⚡️❤️🔥⚡️ Now✨Biggest Love
I have fo take the bus places & I have fibromyalgia that hates the cold. So I really bundle up anytime it hits 40 or so. With everything on i say i look like a walking burrito.
I hope you enjoy Canada .... Edmonton Alberta isn't always the friendliest place.... Its basically Canada's Texas.... Which isn't a compliment. Please don't let them scare you away from visiting Toronto or Vancouver in the future too.
That's true, but Canada and the US are so different that e.g. Alberta (where Edmonton is) is still less conservative than most of the _least_ conservative US states.
I think I need to know what that jacket is, I live in Minnesota and it's starting out cold again tomorrow morning , this morning the real feel was like 3° 😕
Holy shit is that store expensive. 😂 I’d be walking out after looking at the first price tag. Good to see at least some teachers are making good wages.
“Grub in a sleeping bag” had me rolling
That's the look I'm totally going for at this stage in my life!😂
"I want what she's having" 😂😂😂❤
even as a canadian, i shuddered at “edmonton in february”. good luck and don’t die.
Winnipeg has always been my idea of a frozen hellscape. As a Canadian in the Atlantic provinces.

You're about to be out-of-stock on these jackets! 😂
Im pretty sure this is actually the Silent Down Long Parka!

I’m headed to Edmonton at the end of December…My brother lives there! I hope my fellow Canadians (a Canadian in Iowa) treat you well! 🇨🇦❤
Watching from Minnesota and that's EXACTLY the kind of coats we need up here. Great choice.
Ms. Chang u and u wife are great people please keep smiling and I wish I would have found u sooner.
That's definitely what MI teacher call a recess jacket!
Yay! So exciting you're coming up north!
Enjoy in good health! I am right there with you on the need to feel warm without regard to high fashion! And that coat happens to be beautiful anyway-- great color!
Since Mr. Limabeans, you had me!!! You’re awesome! Blessings in 2024!
You are so awesome Ms. Chang, I can not get enough of you! I lived in Macon county G.A. for a bit, ❤ your accent hun.
I LOVE long coats as well. Everyone at work calls me Nanuk of the North because I’m so bundled up. I hate being cold!🥶
🫡😇🩶🩵💙🧥🧣🧤🕶🧦👟🥾 Jere, you look snug as a bug in a rug!🪄🧥✨️🐞✨️🐜✨️🐛✨️. Good on the cozy Patagonia Gal for taking proper care of you! 🇨🇦 💖❤️🇨🇦

Good recess coats are very important!
You are so fun!
Dont know why I've watch a few of your videos.
Like your positive energy. Keep it up.

I don't even have a coat that warm and I am Canadian! Lol❤😂
That’s awesome
Me neither.
Awww southerners picking a coat, so cute, lol. I am from Ohio where 40 degress is when you stop wearing shorts, lol.
Nothing like a good long puffy coat to keep that early morning cold at bay. Atlanta still gets cold overnight. Stay warm and what's that coat called? Looks like a must have!
Someone posted in a reply upthread - Jackson Glacier Parka in Smolder Blue

The perfect playground sleeping bag coat!
When it’s cold the holidays are near🎄🎅
Shout out to Krog Street Market!! So exciting to hear you're a fellow Atlantan, Mrs.Chang - it's been too cold around here! 🥶
Some people just don’t understand the coldness that is recess duty! It truly is freezing! And I’m someone who runs hot. 😂
Now you make me want one 😂 what was the price tag on it tho 👀🤷🏼♀️😂 I've never owned anything Patagonia. & I live in MD/PA & have very low iron (I take 325MGS a day) & I'm still cold!!

If no one has told you, you’re the bomb you’re a teacher I would’ve wanted back in the 70s and 80s. lol. Your students should be very honored.
😅😅😅😅
This is why we love her ! ❤❤❤
🇨🇦 hope you enjoy your trip to Edmonton.....oxox from Ontario Canada
That woman understands the meaning of customer service!
I totally understand where you're coming from ... seriously! I'm from Oswego, New York ! So I know what cold is lol
I like your watermelon! ❤️🍉🕊✨
LOVE U MS CHANG ❤
I have one from llbean like that. I absolutely love it
I have a coat I always describe as a sleeping bag! Only my eyes peak out. 40 is cold. Although, it’s 20 and I haven’t worn my super warm coat yet. You gotta save it for the real cold weather. 😅
I live in New Orleans. Might be able to wear that cost two days a year. But have a great time in Canada.
That is such a teacher's coat in the best way lol
Yes, I agree I live in Buffalo NY and I have one of those.
I call it my walking sleeping bag. I spent time in Atlanta you have cold winters and roasting summers. Come to NY for a beautiful summer.
Meanwhile in VA it's Christmas Eve and almost 60°F. ☹️ I want SNOW!!! ❄️🌨️☃️
Throw you a personalized link into that description, Chang. Get a little amazon store front action going.

4.4 degrees Celsius, BTW. That’s pretty standard where I live.
I know my threshold is ridiculous
@@mschanggifted😂
@@mschanggifted It is still pretty cold.

I live in Central Florida and ppl don’t understand when it gets to be 40 degrees outside it’s a different kind of cold then up north.
You can not go wrong with a puffer coat, even if it does make you look like a "grub in a sleeping bag." I love mine, lol 💚
I understand, as I've got older. I freeze at 60° 🥶🥶🥶😅😅😅 So thats the perfect looking coat.

I mean hey do what you need to get warm its smart some people think its cool to be cold when its not
The secret to a successful and productive life: learn to recognize the right woman to ask for advice, information, and assistance.
You can roll it up into the hood to put in your bag too! Makes it even tighter 😁
❤let’s go!
I need this coat. My last cost is done and where I live in Australia it doesn't snow but it gets really cold in winter and stinking hot in summer
If you come to Canada 🇨🇦 bundle up 😂 where I am now its-17 last winter we hit -40.
Hopefully not this winter lol
Conversion to Celsius is 4⁰
Lol, Edmonton in February is a choice.

Edmonton Alberta? Have you been there I know that place
Patagonia coats are in the 300-600$ range. Idk how a teacher can afford that 😅

Same here in PA
Jackson Glacier Parka. I don't work for the company but someone who does commented what coat it is. 😊
Ooh I just moved to Edmonton two months ago! Are you in Edmonton for business??
