Hello everyone. Like every other video posted thus far on my channel, I created this for a school project back in high school. I appreciate those of you who said all the kind words! This video is far from perfect, but I am happy to have been able to share some of e. e. Cummings' work with you. To those complaining about how fast I read, I would like you to direct your complaints towards my English teacher as I unfortunately had a time restriction. I was aware of the problem, but we needed to get through multiple presentations in a class period. Thank you for bringing it to my attention, but there was nothing I could do; I had to meet the requirements for both time and content.
Furthermore, I will not be posting any more poetry-related videos on this channel, as this video was created exclusively for a high school assignment. I have grown a lot since posting this video; I graduated from high school and university. I had no idea how popular this video would become. I wasn't trying to get 20k views; I just wanted my 9th-period English class to see the video. However, I hope that I was able to inspire someone during the almost seven years this video has been public. I encourage all of you who have problems with this video to create your own. After all, if you want something done right, do it yourself.

If you're not an English teacher, you should be. You have what it takes: a passion for literature but the ability to analyze objectively. Great.

This was an enjoyable presentation. I need to say (because I read the comments) there are no rules on how quick or how slow one should read a poem. Poetry read, from it's speed to it's ebb and flow, is subjective to the reader. No one would tell Gertrude Stein to slow down when she read "If I Had Told Him a Completed Portrait of Picasso" would they? No, hell no, for fear of Hemingway being one reason and another would be it's just plain silly to do so. Either way, I think cummings would be proud to know his words still carried meaning nearly 60 years after his death. Keep reading poetry!

I got here through Nerdwriter, after getting a nasty case of e. e. cummings withdrawal. Your crisp and eccentric visuals in the intro are really catchy, even for someone who has been through many many intros. But your reading style! Are you nervous? Are you on a time limit for this video? If not, why the HECK do you barrel through his poetry? Slow down and trust yourself - and trust the poetry. cummings is a ball of yarn, not a typewriter.
I hope you do more videos; you have a very good mind, and you are blessedly good at hitting the real points instead of canoeing over shallow thoughts. I also hope you teach. Just do it slower.

The capitalization question appears to have been a publisher error which the poet tired of talking about.
Please re-make this video and speak at half the speed. Cummings was steady in reading.

The advent of the typewriter influenced his writing or style a great deal.

Very smart analysis, hoping to see more. Lack of fear to tackle a review of Mr. Cummings, one of the last great poets, a very NON traditional poet. Like I said, hope to see more.

What kind of poetry reading is this?
If you are in a rush, don't read poetry please.
Go to the bathroom first, do your job, then read a poem, after you are relieved,

To become REARRANGINGLY - not arrangingly. If you're going to deconstruct a cummings poem and do a textual analysis of it, at least get the words right.
