Thanks for watching!
Hugs and Happy Stamping,
Jill Foster
I’ve collected “hedgehogs” for over 30 years! When I first discovered the Penny Black hedgehogs (wood stamps), well, I have a collection of those (maybe not as large due to limited storage). And when the clear stamps started, well, I had to have them all! They are some of my go to ones because my family knows how infatuated I am with them - even former students! Needless to say Penny Black has been a favorite of mine for many years. Now as I’ve “matured”, I’m head over heels of the Teddy Bears! Your card ideas have been an inspiration to the many ways I can use my Penny Black stamps. Thank you Jill!❤
Awh! Your comment makes us all smile BIG!
The hedgehog is my favorite! He is so adorable.❤
Hi Jill , your videos are such a delight to watch. I love all the old wood rubbers stamps. The Penny Black wood stamps were some of the first stamps I bought. I always stress over the card design. Your videos have made that process so much easier. I like your idea of displaying those wood stamps and changing them depending on the season-great idea. They are too nice to keep in a drawer.
Thanks so much, Lisa!! :)
I love all of them but the teddy bear is my favorite. ❤️
Thanks!
These are all adorable! Ovals are my favorite die for any background or opening. Thanks for all of these great ideas, Jill!
Thanks, Elise! I love ovals, too!
I think I like the floral card the best. I love all your videos. They’re so informative and cute.
Thanks, Camile!
My favorite is the 3rd card with flowers, but they are all wonderful ❤️
thanks!!!
Lovely design and truly adorable cards Jill. 😀💖
Thanks, Alison!
This has been my favorite of this series. You can never go wrong with hedgehogs 🥰 and I also really like the flower card. I love your color choices. Great job as always.
Thanks! So glad you love the hedgehogs, too! :)
The die cut flowers are my favorite.
Thanks!
Your cards are just fabulous and love the watercolor effect.....thank you.
Thanks, Terrie!
Good morning Jill, i love your cards but i think i'm in love with the hedgehog, so adorable❤
Good morning! Thanks, Corrie!
Thanks Jill! It’s sad that’s there’s only 1 more video remaining in this series. I’ve enjoyed all of them & that leaf die is pretty spectacular 😉
Thank you! Love that leaf! :)
Jill, you are amazing! There is not a Penny Black card I do not love. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
Thank you, Anita!
I prefer the wood block stamps. I have several PB stamps mainly all on wood blocks and I love them all. Loved all the cards you made. So pretty and cute.
Thank you! Yes, there is something so fabulous about woodblock! :)
Another great sketch that I'm excited to try! The hedgie is my fav. I love him popping out of the clay pot with the pretty daisy. So adorable! xx
So happy to hear that, Loll, can't wait to see what you will create! :)
Yes Teddy is my fav too!
I treasure ALL of my PB stamps!!!😊❤
Awh! So happy to hear that, Anne!! :)
To make room for my craft supplies I spent time over this past weekend removing the stamps from the blocks. Then they were placed into clear envelope sleeves that included a scanned copy of the stamp and sorted into categories and plaved in a clear kitchen bin for easy access. Next, the images were removed from the blocks and put onto a paper for storage in a three-ring binder so they could be referred to when coloring. The sheets were then decoupaged. So far, I amvery happy with this change.
Wow! You've been busy! :) TFS!
Hi Jill. Your cards are gorgeous. I love your hedgehog card as I love hedgehogs as they are endangered species now in uk 🇬🇧. Thank you for all your wonderful work.🩷🌸🩷🌸😊😎xxx
I didn't know that about the hedgehogs in the UK! Thanks for your kind words, Patti!
I loved all of the cards too hard to pick a fave. Love the leafy die cut
Thanks!!
There's nothing like a wood block stamp! I love today's ideas the window with the embossed texture behind is lovely! Thank you.
Thanks, Yvonne, yes, those woodblocks are special! :)
You are not alone Jill. I fuss and try 10 different ways to position the images before I finally place them on the card. Hey, we want to create a beautiful card. There’s nothing wrong with that. ❤
Glad I'm not alone, Christine! :)
I dug out the stamps I could find. I have moved in with my mother to take care of her and I'm slowly bringing over my supplies. I swear I thought I had the bee one but the one I found in a pot just has a flower. I will keep looking. That bear card is adorable!
Thanks, Patricia! Hope you can find what you are looking for! :)
Another great design. This has been an awesome series. I kinda hate to see it end.
Thanks for your feedback and kind words, Sherry!
The flowers are my favorite..I need to give critters a try...lol. doing the same thing over but it makes me happy & then random people get a card to make them smile..people I don't know
I love both wood-block mounted rubber stamps and cling-mount rubber stamps. I think there are advantages to both styles. I'm not as big a fan of clear-mount stamps, although I have to say they have improved greatly over the years and don't turn yellow like they used to.
Unfortunately, I lost all my wood-mounted rubber stamps in 2011 due to a wild fire that struck my community and took my entire home & its contents. Now I primarily have cling-mount.
So sorry to hear about your losses in the fire! HUGS! Thanks for your kind words- enjoyed your feedback!
Love these cuties! I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you for sharing
So happy to hear that- thank you!
Usually I’m a sucker for the critters, but I think I love the floral card most this time. I love how the flowers and leaves fill up the space perfectly. Also, I love that you use the butterflies frequently! Butterflies are awesome❤️. Thanks for another amazing video!!
Thanks, Chris, I love butterflies! :)
I love that you use the old wood block dies, I still have several of them and you have inspired me on your series of Permission to Play. I love all of your cards.
Thank you, Audrey!
I have about half a dozen of the woodblock stamps. They are mostly snowmen and cats. I use them to make cards and as decorations on a shelf in my craft room.
Thanks, Carole, I bet that's a cute shelf! :)
I have several Penny Black critter stamps, many are hedgies. But until I started watching and saving your videos and techniques, I had no idea how truly charming those critters are. Thanks for showing us how to give these images the personalities and focus they deserve. You're a star, my friend!
Awh! Big hugs and thanks!
I love the flowers!
Thanks, Shirla!
Love them all but that hedge is soooo cute. Thanks for helping me learn to paint. I have a ways to go but I do enjoy it.
So glad to hear that, Jill!
Again super cute!
Thanks!!!
Nooo! One more?? Say it isn't so! Jill, you've given us such a sweet sketch today - I've not made one card using die cut leaves and flowers! Perhaps it is time - I LOve yours! and it's clear now that we come to the end that I need to invest in MORE Penny Black and some of your wonderful frame dies! =] Michele
Awh! Thanks, dear Michele! :)
Such cute cards!
Thanks!
All are adorable
Thanks!!
I like the one you made out of the wooden block stamp. I have a lot of old penny black wood stamps. Mostly flowers. Still use them. Love them. I still think they stamp better.
Thanks, Peggy!
love the hedgehog, although I loved them all as well
Thank you!
Oh, my goodness! Where have I been today? Video 9 in the Permission to Play series released over 7 hours ago and I'm just now catching it! Love this idea. Each card is just a little bit different even though you're using the same background die and embossing folder. Changing it up makes it seem like you're not doing the same design over and over. I want to let you know what an enabler/influencer you are. A while back, because of you, I had to get the toffee crunch ink pad and now, just this week, I purchased the watering can ink pad. In the past, I shied away from critter and people stamps because I've never been one for "detail" coloring, but you make it look so easy. I'm now looking at those stamps in a new light!
Very sad to see the end of this series coming up so quickly, but I guess that just means we have more great products and ideas to look forward to from PB&J and that's always a good thing!
Linda- you are the kindest- thank you!
I love the hedgie! Although all of your cards are beautiful and will be loved by whoever receives one! I'm thrilled to see options using this oval die, I have it and fresh ideas are wonderful ❤ I can honestly say that I too wonder sometimes if I am using one stamp, die or layout too often! 😅 I have to remind myself that all the cards are not going to the same person.😁
Yes, good reminder, Jan! :)
I still have some wood block Penny Black stamps, but lots of other PB stamps too. Love all these things you've been showing us. Wish I could paint as fast as you do. Thanks.
Thanks!! :)
Since you asked - I just realized I've never used my wood block stamps, they are just sitting out where I see them everyday and of course still love them. So, next time I sit a spell, I'll use them all and see what I end up doing with the images. Fun time.
Have fun! Thanks!
Yes! I feel that i cant reuse dies or stamps repeatedly - which is why i have too many craft supplies. 😊
Heehee! Thanks, Lynn!
I am loving this series of videos. I love the simple designs and the critters. I have so many of them and am now inspired to get them out and use the. I think you need to keep making the series... not just a finite number
I wish someone would make a stamp positioner for wood blocks. I have to use the old stamp positioner and even then I still am not good at getting a brilliant impression. I do love all my rubber stamps though
Thanks, Lorna, appreciate your feedback!! :)
I like the flower card the best
Thanks, Carol! :)
Love the hedgie card, but like the bear also!
Beautiful cards and I love the touch of red/rust butterflies. The background 3D circles and oval cut are wonderful and really 'make' the card. TFS
Of course I have that conversation about reusing the same stamps and dies. Also, I have a group of about ten plus yoga friends that I exchange cards with and I can't remember if I gave them this or that critter or character. I mess around endlessly with the final design of each card.
I still use my wood block Penny Black stamps but I have started to remove them from the wood as it gives me more options for use. I have not mastered using stamps with a Misty type stamp position tool.
Images are definitely timeless.
Thanks, Sharon!
Such cute cards!
So….you had to fussy cut the stamped images, right?
Thanks, yes, I did fussy cut these images.
Love my Penny Black because they are so cute! One question, why don't you just use watercolors?
I'm not answering for Penny Black, but I would imagine, and can only guess, it's probably because Ranger Ink's Tim Holtz Distress inks have such a nice assortment of colors and they too are water-soluble.
Thanks! I find the Distress Ink reinkers faster, easier, and I love the intensity of color. :)
Im loving this series. So much so, that I opted to buy the e-book. However I wasn’t given a link to download it. I’ve sent an email and attempted to call the number on the website but the voicemail is full. Can you tell me where I download the book after purchase?
The hedgehog. Thanks!
Thank YOU!
liking the hedgie!!!
Thanks!
