Those slurry bomber pilots are crazy! My father worked for a shady company called Hawkins & Powers in the 90s and early 2000s. They had two birds go down in 2002. I was watching live news coverage of a California wildlife they were fighting when they showed an H&P owned C-130 preparing to drop slurry and the right wing separated from the fuselage, rolled over and nose dived into the ground. We knew all three crew on board. One month later they had a PB4Y go down under identical circumstances. Wing separation at the fuselage. Again, we knew both on board. 20 years on watching slurry bombers still gives me chills after watching 5 people we knew die doing it.

As a sheet metal guy, the tail of the 727 just falling off like that has really got me curious.
I was curious, too. Apparently the plane was being scrapped and they set it up to look like it was at a gate. Note the missing engines and and exit doors. Actually, pretty funny.
It still annoys me how little Lucaas actually knows about how planes work. For example, 2:15 he doesn't even know what ground effect is... the gear was up so that the airflow under the plane was smooth so it could ride the ground effect to gain speed before pulling up into a climb. As it's a cargo plane, I suspect that it was fully loaded and quite heavy and the pilot wanted to make sure it had enough speed beyond V1 to rotate properly into a full climb. Of course, Lucaas won't understand a single word I said.

You've got me wel trained... as soon as I hear about landing gear being retracted super-early, or a plane trying to get on/off a runway in a major rush, I now automatically assume, "Oh, Aerosucre again..." LOL

Excellent, the fastest landing gear retraction I have ever seen was that of the auto retraction of the British Buccaneer jet.
I could just imagine calling my insurance company having to explain I hit an airplane on my way to work this morning. They would probably hang up on me.
