This netflix show really has the nerve to say it is âwokeâ while whitewashes and has girls fighting over a guy as one of the main plotlines
boomer sense of woke
I really donât care about the woke and gay representation! Just donât take off them original characters đ„șđ„ș
@@dacke13 correct, Bloom was spot on.
Almost only her tho.
Plus it's nonsense that a show for kids who came out 17 years ago had more inclusive variety than a Netflix production who generally make sure to have character of different races in shows where they weren't originally planned (for example The Witcher) no matter how much it could make sense historically speaking (see Cursed), and took all the variety out of a show who already had that type of inclusivity. This just means changing things up randomly and being incoherent imo
I actually got into this faster than I did the charmed reboot but I agree with you about the love triangle storyline. I know it's been a long time since I watched winx but I don't remember Stella ever being a b*tch to Bloom or a b*tch overall. Sure she had her flaws but...idk. The drama with Syke really pissed me off. With the original I really liked that they avoided the new girl steals the guy cliché and the live action went ahead and added that silly drama.
The only change I really liked was making both male and females fairies and specialist. Which with that change as well as the many others, it could have been it's very own magical show.
@@tseringtashi5841 Facts i mean the gay representative kinda made it better to me but other than that the show wasnt even that good
They did Stella SO dirty. She was my favourite character because she was so friendly and nice even tho she might look like the popular mean girl. But in this live action she's just..... terrible. She's so mean. Also the fashion is just insulting.
'Also the fashion is so insulting' OHHHHHHH

being a teenager doesn't equate depressing colors, dark tones, and sad shit, it can also be all sunshine and glitter. we like winx even until now bc it gives us a nostalgic feeling, it makes us feel like children again. fate doesn't do that.
Yesssss this!!! Being a teenager isn't all just drama, dark, and a dreary tone. Most teens just have fun and that's what winx did back in 2004. They made it realistic but magical enough to show that they are like any other regular teen just having fun and enjoying themselves. And they acted and looked like 16 year olds (unlike the live in which they look like 25 year olds).
For real! They took away everything we love about Winx Club. They should have just made Fate a different thing.
@@nosirrah. it is a different thing...no one understands that this isnât meant to be a replica of the original. The animation was just a spring board. This is meant to have the base idea of the original but taken a different tone. Itâs a mature show!! Of course itâs going to be different. They kept a few of the details the same like names, some relationship, dragon flame, etc. but itâs never going to be the same, never was.
@@MysteryGaming101 If they wanted to make a show mature, that doesn't mean that they have to take away all of its color, give them ugly clothes, give them basic drama, basic dialogue , and basic story lines. Not to mention they changed the characters way too much to the point where they're almost unrecognizable (except for Bloom, Stella even though her personality is off, and Aisha a little bit) like there is a large lack of diversity. They literally said that they were trying to target older audiences who watched the show as a child but they didn't do anything but just make most of us dislike it because they literally took away everything that we love about it and made it into the ordinary dark basic show that we see on Netflix all the time. They really had the opportunity to do something great with this đ€ŠđŸââïž
K
They got rid of Kiko. I can never forgive that. I donât care how dark it is suppose to be. That rabbit was one of my favorite characters.
Yeah and throughout this video I was thinking at the least they couldâve given her a rabbit motif. Like hate accessories.
A small bunny in a proper cage would have been a sufficient Easter egg.
I miss Kiko and his favorite carrot juice..
The rabbit was annoying. I don't understand how anyone can love him.
Same I adored him đ
Netflix: teenage girl want edgy, relatable, more adult themed show remakes
What they really want: just a remake of their favourite show for nostalgia
I just want all the colourful and feminine parts of Winx mixed with the power and friendship. It was iconic and Netflix could never!
And now they're doing the same thing with the powepuff girls smh
Literally I have rewatched the original series so many times, even as a young adult. If they could properly translate that fun world and outfits and everything into a live action without white washing as well it would be glorious, at this rate I think the fans just need to do it because obviously we sure can do it better. I feel like if this was a completely unrelated story about fairies maybe I wouldâve liked it more, but knowing that it was meant to be based off the Winx, the show left me soooo unbelievably disappointed. I watched it with my SO and spent the whole time going âthatâs not how theyâre likeâ âtheyâre meant to be best friendsâ âthis isnât rightâ. Tis a timeâŠ.. makes me wanna just rewatch the first season again lol
They want a âgood and faithfulâ remake
Literally like is it such a crime for me to want a remake with pretty dresses and bright colors and amazing lasting friendships

I hate how they made Bloom and Stella enemies - they were meant to be besties!
And also the fashion was insanely bad - how is it that Beatrix was the only person who didn't have horrible fashion
Seconded, I hate that they felt the need to make Bloom and Stella rivals, because apparently there MUST be tension between two girls in the friendship group, before they eventually reconcile.
I remember them being really close friends since it's Bloom who discovers Stella on Earth. Also with the fashion, horrible choice. Y2K fashion has been coming back for at least a year and all of the characters had a certain aesthetic that is very Y2K fashion. The series was filmed in 2019 which was already bringing back Y2K fashion. So very poor choice from the designers.
literally this. why canât they stop putting girls against each other?
Exactly! Itâs even weirder because itâs STELLA. They all have a close relationship, but Stella and Bloom knew each other before they even made the Winx club, so to put them against each other for Sky, when Stella originally had the sweetest relationship with Brandon, is just turning her into Diaspro... đ€Šđœââïž
They were literally the closest

For me, I think the most disappointing aspect is the lack of friendship. We still don't have a good example of what a nontoxic, supportive, empowering female friendship looks like in shows targeted at teenage girls. While growing up, I didn't see one onscreen healthy friendship (Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, Secret Life - there was always some sort of horrible betrayal or insult, and you don't treat people like that) and we still don't see one in Fate. When at its core, the Winx Club was about the beautiful friendships between very different women. Especially making Bloom and Stella's relationship strained over a boy?? Are you kidding me? I am so upset with the writers, directors, and anyone else who had something to do with that decision. It's just insulting at this point.
This!! They were more like a bunch of mean girls who tolerate each other because it benefits them and call it âfriendshipâ even though they barely had any friendly interactions
If they wanted to have a fucking love triangle couldn't they just made Sky a prick who's playing them both or something? and meanwhile the relationship between both girls flourishes, and they become very good friend because no crush should dictate how you treat another person. It even could become a romantic relationship between Stella and Bloom, where they realize that the other person is soooo great and why Sky likes them both, and instead of having to settle with the white boy they fall-in-love, and have a beautiful relationship. This way you don't have the blatant misogyny and can add LGBT representation.

Actual characters died
Bloom being orphaned and the sole survivor of her kingdom's mass genocide
Aisha saving her kingdom from destruction and having near death experiences on multiple occasions because of it.
Stella's parents going through a divorce

I hated that they branded the show as being âwokeâ while whitewashing the cast. The only thing they did that was supposed to be "woke" was calling out sexism, but they never tried to solve it. 'Misogyny!'
As a young latina, born and raised in latin-america, and growing up with the winx saga, i absolutely adore flora, she was everything i saw in women surround me, physically (a more tan skin with dark/brown hair) and in personality wise. And i often feel like these famous movie industries often only portray latina woman in two ways: 1° The spice, caliente latina and 2° the jealous, angry latina. Not only that, but even just as costume choices... It's one thing that these are not fashionable outfits, but they're not even costuming choices that appear to best fit their body types. The words "frumpy" and "drab" come to mind. You don't need a Hollywood budget to put a flattering outfit together, so I really don't know what went wrong here except someone in the costuming dept apparently not understanding the basics of clothing (which seems like it would be a prerequisite).

The fact that they didn't include Techna is so insanely sad. She was the one girl of the group that didn't care about how she looked or all the boys. She was more focused on stuff working properly, things being technical and funcional. And she was a huge huge technology nerd, and thats something literally no other show has it feels like. Its always the boys that are good with technology, and as a girl that loves computer games and technological world, I always loved watching Techna show how fierce she was. She many times schooled all the specialists on how to fix their own equipment just because she was so damn good about it, and she used her magic to make stuff even stronger. You CAN be a computer nerd, and still be beautiful, strong and feminine in your own ways! The irony of having all this shallow buzzfeed feminism when the entire premise of the reboot is rooted in sexism. The things they removed to make it edgy and serious is all of the stuff that's considered feminine and girly. The fashion, the sparkles, the fairies, the focus on the girl's friendships. All the things that were unashamedly girly were taken away because it's seen as silly and not to be taken seriously because it's associated with women.
This isn't mentioning all the sexism within the writing of the new show.
Just like when middle aged people write teens, it's very obvious when men who don't *love* women try and write ''woke feminism''

This was exactly what I was thinking. The aesthetic is one of the important things of this show. Winx just instantly makes you happy with the bright colors and fun clothes.
The animated series are already a goood representation of empowerment. Why did they have to change that?
This seriesâs only salvation is telling that this was just a nightmare of Tecna saw while being frozen in the Omega dimension LOL
Just a note in case ppl didn't see the show~ there were male fairies and female warriors shown in the OG. Alfea just happened to be an all-girls fairy school, and Red Fountain was an all-boys specialist school đ

Becouse they can't.
But this is a sci-fi show, with magic, fairies and a whole different world in it..
So it wouldn't bother me if stella was girly and badass..
But realistically speaking, girly and badass don't really go together.

I don't think liking fashion, or things traditionally seen as 'girl things' shouldn't rlly be called embracing your femininity because femininity is not based on those facts and idk I guess it bothers me because I never have liked those things but that doesn't make me any less feminine, if u get what I mean.
@@kia-er2po otherwise I think you're 100% right, and its honestly ridiculous that some people think you can't be badass and have a good sense of fashion and enjoy 'girly' things at the same time?? I'm not going to lie Netflix literally killed me with these unoriginal ideas the lack of diversity , the terrible makeup and don't even get me started on the costume designs. It was no doubt that Netflix not only white washed the show and added so many stereotypes, but also drained the show of its uniqueness and tried to make the PG fantasy fairy world we know and love into a "relatable teen drama". smhđ€Šđ»ââïž
Going into the issue of the actress of color in the role of the little mermaid, i have to say that it bothers me, not because the actress is black, but because instead creating an original, new story, they decide to paint over another. It is as if Disney or Hollywood is saying that this type of representation does not deserve its own original product, so they prefer to modify an existing one.
(srry for the bad english btw)

This. I've always hated race swaped remakes, especially when it's a race swapped white person to hispanic or latino. As a latina, it angers me that companies think that minorities are just little goodie points that they have to get in order to have a successful film, when really it's the shows that are unique and not agenda based that people oh so desire.

26:10 As a massive fan of OUAT, I'd also like to point out that they actually explained why Emma always wore that jacket! They made it connect to the lore of the universe and her personal story, so it wasn't just "Emma Swan wearing red because red is her favorite color." That jacket had meaning, which makes it even better of a parallel to "the girl who wore read because fire."
Flora was one of the only representations I had in tv growing up, being a brown latina girl, it was really sad to see her get white washed
The thing that pissed me off was them saying him explaining something was âmansplainingâ thatâs not mansplaining! Mansplaining is a man explaining something to women something she already knows in a condescending way. And when the mom says âdonât start that feminist crap with meâ when bloom got mad at her for taking her door, Iâm sorry maâam but privacy is a human right not feminism. And why does every remake of a kids show or book have to be dark? Why canât they be like the original tv show and not a horror/drama.
Omfg thank you yeh the mansapling part was so uncomfortable it honestly felt like the show was mocking feminism and actually problems females face by not even understanding and implementing the terminology correctly
@@nuttymadnatter4715 Exactly!!
yeah, that bothered me so much oh my god and the weir references to the gender spectrum and harry potter, they thought they were being so clever
Yes!! Bloom claiming Sky was mansplaining in the first episode put me off her so much and when Dane went to speak to Terra she turns to her dad and brother saying shit like "I know the man is always meant to help the woman but I don't need your help" really confused and annoyed me. She could've just said that she had it under control or something why did she have to bring up the whole patriarchal society topic?? It seemed like the show was desperate to make us understand that the girls are feminists and strong. But why do we need to see it in words? The original winx literally SHOWED us that they were strong and never needed that damsel in destress arc this show could've done the same but it is very clear to me the white men that made the remake know nothing about true femininity without acting like buzzfeed took over the script.
Because they want to change the target from kids to teens and nostalgic adults that would pay to watch this mess
Itâs sad how the entertainment industry wants to make a âmatureâ show they need to put in live action, people need to start respecting animation cause Iâm really tired of this
God ikr! There are plenty of mature and dark animated series and lots of them are pretty great.
Winx was already mature, just remember the time that the bad guys just petrify and entirely city o-o. I know if I rewatch the show I will find more things.
Exactly and how is this meant to be mature with all the whitewashing and anti lgbtq+ remarks it just makes it more childish and discriminatory than the original
YES. Animation is not only for kids, it has its own good points that we see time and time again not working on live action because it doesn't have the same magic
People need to understand this. The cartoons that are emerging on this platform is the only thing that's giving me hope
I totally agree.
However, I think that sometimes moving something from animation to live action can make somewhat interesting emotional shift. Like looking from a different angle at the same thing. Same thing applies with moves from claymation to cgi to whatever else, right. Sometimes it's also really cool reading a book that is made from a movie. Sometimes these things get adapted to video-games and what not. It's cool seing how Ă different medium makes the story, world, characters shine in a different way.
But in this case, you have to have a vision to bring winx club to real life and not to the typical lame Netflix show hah. And I also guess that animation is not yet seen as a companion to live action when it comes to not-a-kid people, so, I suppose we have a way to go. I personally think it's not that a long of a way, but I suppose it still exists. (I also feel like older people are more likely to watch animation than kids and teens. Because animations is exactly what you're taking about, deep and mature. Not really kid stuff. Teens probably could but it takes a whole for a person to appreciate art haha. It's not immediate for everyone... I guess it's up to your definition of animation lol. Like, spongebob is animation but when I hear animation I think dog Island or something. I suppose spongebob is a cartoon. And spongebob has its deep and mature episodes too.)
Speaking of Euphoria, it would be amazing if you analyzed the showâs outfits as well. Itâs probably my favorite modern costume design.
Well you got your wish!
Instead of actually asking fans what they want, they make assumptions and crash and burn...
Any girl who grew up watching this show would clearly state what they want to see: The full cast of characters as they remember them, maybe with slight changes (like weight changes?) They want a lot of fashion and outfits - that was CORE to the show!!!! The show runners honestly failed the fans.

i donât like how people think just including a black person is diversity. diversity is including more than 3 types of people. i saw no latina or asian representation. as a latina, that really upsets me, flora was/is my inspiration, my love, she was basically me. she even LOOKED like me, and musa was also very very inspiring to little me. i wish people could actually tell the difference between actual diversity and including a single black character. just because you added a few black characters does not mean youâre diverse, youâre leaving out tons of other people.
Where are ginger mermaids?
I grew up with Winx and they are an integral part of my childhood. My friend and I literally called each other Bloom and Stella because we were so close (and they were our favorite). This series leaves me upset, bc they could have literally named it something else, changed the character names, and had a semi-competent story. Ofc there are still other problems within the plot (Aisha having no character development and only existing to support Bloom or Terra's weight constantly being the butt of the joke and it being normal) but it would have still been better. This is why banking on nostalgia is a double-edged sword; yes you almost always have a large guaranteed audience but that large audience will also be ruthless in judging you if you ruined their show they loved so much. And with Winx being such an iconic and well-done show, the bar was very high, and Netflix just didn't reach it.
ALSO: Why did they have to make Stella (my favorite) a BTEC Regina George? Can Netflix producers not see blonde, fashionable women and also see them as intelligent, multi-layered complicated people? Also Techna/ Icy, Stormy fans be happy, y'all were spared.
Tecna and Flora were my favorite characters, so when I found out they took out Tecna and changed Flora, it was an automatic turn off for me. You canât have WINX CLUB without the actual Winx
the lack of strong female friendships combined with the âcalling out sexism but not solving itâ is SO chilling adventures of sabrina. caos constantly pointed out issues with misogyny, patriarchy, and toxic masculinity in the first two seasons, but never did anything about it. sabrina has no particularly strong female friendships and spends most of her time obsessing over boys/romantic relationships. tl;dr rather than just telling us that women face hardships, why not show us women overcoming those hardships with sisterhood and mutual support?
Because sisterhood is not interesting for a show đ„±
This!! This is what bothered me about sabrina that I couldn't put into words! People who don't make you feel like that are not your circle and that counts friends, family, partner...
You deserve to be treated like a human being, a girl human being at that, with all your girliness that comes with it. Not a mother, a man, a therapist, a cleaning lady, a best friend or whatever role other people want to put you in for their benefit but just relax and be a princess. â€ïž
And i know you know but just a little reminder- Us, white people, made movies and animation with white women as princesses. It means nothing. It made this dangerous portrail that we are more delicate (or whatever) but it does not mean it's true, we just made more movies trough history, don't you ever take it as fact!
We had the resources and liberty to put out narratives we wanted trough media, it was one sided fantasy, not true! During slavery black women were put in a role of more "Savage, unworthy, manly", they did not choose those rolls, they were princesses taken from their homeland and enslaved.

Yep, it was just straight up obvious what they were tryna do by changing it. It was literally fine the exact way it was in the cartoon. We just want the nice story lmao and make it so it's loyal to the actual cartoon. They just added too much of the real world to it and that's what ruined it.
I don't think they're trying to be more diverse. How does ERASING the skin colours of Aisha, Musa and Flora make the show more diverse? No, I think those white male producers are just racist and cannot stand an all-female main cast that includes more than ONE woman of colour.
In their tiny racist minds, all non-white races/ethnicities are the same, so all the Asian and Latina audiences should just be satisfied that they have been "represented" by a black girl and not dare asking for more.

I loved winx club, me and my friends would pretend to be fairies in the playground at recess and honestly after I found out that Flora was inspired by Jenifer Lopez I fell in love with it more because I didn't know of any other Hispanic cartoon character at the time and even now I don't know many Hispanic characters that arent overly sexualized. Whn Netflix made this abomination called Fate. I was angry that they took out Flora. She was the one Hispanic character I looked up to and they completely whitewashed her and changed her name to Terra (Ik she is technically her 'cousin' but still whitewashed the Hispanic character). We barely get any representation as it is. I am really disapointed

âDiverseâ these days means there are white and black characters. No Muslims, no Arabs, no Latinx characters, no Polynesians or Natives from any country, rarely an Asian. So annoying. And when your characters are literally mythical beings, who cares what their body type is? If they look like real people then yeah, you have to think about body diversity as well.
âBlackâ-racially ambiguous/mixed people. Itâs okay you can say it
Agreed most black characters that are added barley have an important role in the show or story and most are added as mixed race or lighter skinned.
Edit- I also noticed how dark skinned girls are always played as the standoffish character whoâs unwelcoming to the new (most likely white) new girl
Every time they have a Muslim girl in a show they make her take off her Hijab, fall in love with the whitest boy and hate her parents. We don't need representation if the representation only serves to harm us and promote the idea that muslim girls are ALL "oppressed"
Don't forget the gay characters who don't contribute nothing to the storyline. As gay man, I lowkey role my eyes when I see gay characters on TV shows, because I already know they're going to be stereotypical and boring with NO character development.
We're not even gonna talk about ableism...heaven forbid we cast someone with a disability and have them be confident and self-sufficient.

Can we talk about how everyone seems just off character?? Bloom is so angry, self-centred and rude in this series with no explanation whatsoever. First, we see her being so self-important with Sky. Someone, seeing how lost you were, went out of his way to explain how things work and show you where you were supposed to be and you say he's mansplaining??? That's not even what that word means??? Then we see flashbacks of her being moody and closed up in her room. Why?? Was she bullied at school? Is she shy?? We get no explanation concerning that. Then she shouts at her mom and gets surprised when she gets punished for that??? The selfish standoffish way she also acts with the other girls irritated me. Then we have Stella who they put out to play the stereotype blonde, Musa who just wants to kiss her boyfriend, Terra who also plays a stereotype as the friendly chatty chubby person, and Aisha whose only goal in the series is to be "besties" with Bloom. It's like Netflix just said Let's bring together all the stereotypes of the world to make a movie. The angry redhead, the bitchy blond, the friendly chatty plus-sized person and the black girl who is only known for friendship
Excuse me, her mom literally called her names, how is it wrong to get angry when your own mom calls you names. Are people still raising their children like that?
@@wanjahe8749 Her mom was blunt. She said she was acting like a weird loner, since when is that abusive, being real with your kid. Bloom was pushing back and being a brat before she even said that too her, and just because she got offended doesnât justify disrespecting your parent. A simple âI didnât like what you said.â would suffice not cussing at your parents? Then yâall act like her mom beat her up when she took her door, like she was being unnecessarily disrespectful just because therefore she got on punishment. Like when Aisha put her fire out in episode one or when she was embarrassed because she couldnât do magic at the alter thing then she was being mean and sheâs always disrespectful to the head mistress. Just say yall dont want to be disciplined and call it a dayđ
My biggest issue with her was that she was soooo ready to believe all the villains about anything, but then immediately is like "how can I trust you". And then when anyone on the "good" side says something, shes like "you guys have been lying to me this whole time" as if she isn't 16, with unstable powers, and loads of trauma. Then she releases Rosalind anyway???? Like if I found out the person who might know about my birth parents committed mass genocide, I'd be like "hmmm maybe I don't want to let them back out into the world" ugh idk her whole character made it difficult to watch because every episode I'd be like ma'am u are doing the absolute dumbest possible thing you could be doing in this situation
I think we watched different series (which btw I prefer to the cartoon). Bloom was always feeling like she didn't belong, she couldn't fit in, not even with her family, and that's why she was always staying in her room, which was different from the Bloom we see in Alfea. Her mom tried to force her to open up by taking the door which escalated into Bloom's powers causing havoc. Why was she standoffish and aggressive? Some people react this way when they feel confused and in all honesty it was a nice change to have an angsty female character running around for answers with the male character being understanding and supportive. A massive aspect of Sky's personality and overall efforts are to find a fairy to support as with Stella he has horrible chemistry and we see him feeling troubled and hurt because he cannot find a proper partner, that's if anything Netflix inverting the stereotypes. Stella was awesome. Mean blonde girl trope? Kinda yes, but nicely done. Look how much depth she was given. I can write another huge text for Stella but let's not.
The mansplaining thing, imho this whole incident along with everything happening with her mom plays into building Bloom's character. I feel like the overall message was that Bloom was in search of an identity and in doing so she would try to define herself behind all these big ideas without essentially knowing what all these big ideas mean. She understood that she was in some way different from her family and couldn't really see her mother as a role model, which created all that tension. Who is right? Nobody tbh. They both made some valid points, but demanding your kid to socialise by taking away their door is not the way to help but impose your view on them. Why her mom cried feminism and is taking Bloom's door away relevant to feminism? No! Because as Bloom said her mom was a cheerleader, basic bitch type of girl. Bloom was not wrong. We don't like the way she acts out because she is supposed to be this closed off weirdo who seems out of control, that's what she is throughout the season. Her mom had no idea about social matters and Bloom has no idea tbh, but for different reasons.
As for the rest of the characters: Sky and Riven were great. Beatrix is a nice juxtaposition of Bloom as a powerful and definitely more knowledgeable person (not someone hiding behind strong words like feminism but with very little idea as to their real meaning - which also brings down any argument that the writers are dumb or confused, pretty obvious the viewers don't pay attention). Aisha, yes, I'd like to see more of her in season 2.Terra is the exact opposite of that stereotype. She is projecting this image of the friendly bubbly person but she is way way more than a simpleton. Musa is this nice person who struggles being around people, she is socially awkward but as we see not because she lacks social skills but because of her powers. In fact, my impression of her is that her powers act like a stop to her character and she would be someone immensely different had she not been an empath, which is where the whole boyfriend thing comes in. I do feel like Musa would be kinda boy crazy if she had better control over her powers or she had different powers all together. I really think some of y'all are pissed because the show changed to a Hogwarts vibe from the super-cute-girls-with-hot-bodies-going-to-Ibiza vibe and imho that change is an upgrade. Not to mention the dudes look like interesting guys and not California surfer duuudes and Alfea like Solaria and Eraklyon have some depth.

@@landaflores2881 Exactly my main problem is why add the cousin if your not gonna add the original character like yall could've had a latina character and probably introduced her cousin see i have nothing against terra but why replace flora just my opinion :/
For minute 9:00 i can say that in the original winx, guys can have magical powers, they're just not fairies, they're mages. Like the headmaster of the guy's school and the blacksmith mage that made the sword for bloom's father. In the way that girl's can be fairies or witches, guy's can be specialist or mages.
Male fairies were always a thing in Winx. They were rare, but they were always stated to exist
Fate didn't add that.
the stylist is the same stylist of desperate housewives....... that explains a lot
MY MOM WATCHED THAT SHIW ITS SO- I- đđ
oh god
Them and Stella was that close so ofc she didnât dress them so thatâs why they looked like that
i will not accept desperate housewives slander. BUT i think you should talk into account that the years where both shows are taking place are very different
@@itscoldinhere6931 ain't slander, it's just not the good stylist
The teens looking are lookin like middle aged women
the way they fed into the stereotypes that confident girls are mean with stella and plus-size girls are socially anxious and insecure with terra. someone can be plus-size and confident. someone can be confident and be the most kind person.
exacly. thank you
The way Terra is portrayed is so annoying, especially that weird speech she gave to the guy about fat girls not being afraid to fight back or some sh. Like Netflix is constantly portraying the idea that fat girls are bullied because theyâre fat (read: Sierra Burgess) when that is certainly not the case irl. For example, the fat girls in high school were part of the popular crowd simply because they were confident and outgoing, just like what is typical of those who were âpopularâ. Ffs
@@yutassmilehealsme6572 exactly!! and throughout the series she was seen pulling down her shirt and being scared to get changed in front of the others. why does every plus size character have to have their storyline based around their weight and how theyâre insecure about it? why cant we have some empowered, confident women who love themselves no matter their weight.
Exactly!! Just like kat from euphoria
I like just thought abt. Kat from euphoria
Brilliant breakdown! You did a great job. The dissection and your suggestions were spot on. Aaaaaaand now I'm subscribed.
Also, your ideas for their outfits đâšđđŸ!! So so good !
One of my biggest problems was Aisha's character. Every girl had there own storyline, Musa had her parents and sam, Terra had her insecurities and Bruce (I think that was his name), Stella had her mom and sky, and bloom had the whole show. But Aisha's only plot line was helping bloom and then ratting her out. She felt like she wasn't even in the later episodes. All of the villains had more complexity than she did and it just goes to show how the writers used her character purely for brownie point and "diversity"
I think Aisha had the most interesting moral struggle, and I loved how it started affecting her magic, so I think the building blocks for a great arc were there, sadly they never saw it through and she never got to work through her moral struggles and fix her magic, so I agree with you her story ended up being meh...
Plus it's a racist stereotype of a black woman being the motherly type character.
@@yukiandkanamekuran exactly. Smh. Wine club also had an ASIAN and a Latina. They literally just put all white girls with one black. Smh
@@pussydestroyer69285 Ik itâs autocorrect but âwine clubâ got me rolling BAHAHA

This is like a Wattpad fanfic gone wrong.
It's the low quality type of fanfic....
I know of Fics with "the serial numbers filed off" that stuck closer to the OG source material. Like its not even an Alt Universe Fanfic. Because what fanfif writer would take out one the main 6 char in their story, totally change another and compress the evil trio into 1???
IM WHEEZINGGG!
I read a wattpad book called â4th grade dramaâ and it was better than this
every movie/series these days is like that and thats sadđ
My sister said exactly the same, that if she had never known about the original Winx she would have probably liked it. And even if Iâm angry about Flora (we want our Latina/Hispanic representation back please), Iâm especially angry about Tecna. For all the talk about how we need to empower girls and welcome them into STEM careers, they removed an extremely inspiring and original character that is telling you that yes, you can be anything you want. Yay for girl power I guess.
i want a reboot of this reboot
And hopefully this reboot of the reboot doesn't suck like a black hole.
They really did my girl Stella dirty and my guy Brandon doesnât even exist
Exactly and where's my girl flora and tecna.
@@Dred0n yass our tech and floral queens
Ive heard that they will bring them to alfea if season 2 happens
Neither does Stella. That was just Regina George.
EXACTLY
They literally got rid of all of the good characters like flora, techna, Brandon, sky as a prince, and literally they got rid of the FREAKING TRIX like what they were the #1 villains of the show??? This isnât winx they donât even have WINGS
lol I bet beatrix, riven and the other guy are gunna be the new "trix"
Exactly!!!
@@planetpecan6516 It is a path that Riven, in the cartoon, was almost follow it. So it's the best choce, i think. And where is it the couple that i loved?! Musa and Riven! It sucked, but they understood each other some times! And i will not talking about of all the couples, because it gives me rage to not see ANY of them!!
the trix are iconic and i never disliked them despite how evil they were, tbh
I was also really upset there wasn't a school for the girls and another for the guys. I was like wtf is that guy doing there he isn't supposed to be there
Omg I love your videos, I could watch them all day, plus, I love how you go into details and how you make everything interesting and super compelling
really appreciate the extensive reimagining moodboards for the fashion! damn, this show really couldve been creating good looks, and the fact that y2k has been making a comeback?? they had gold and threw it away
i hate how they ruined layla/aisha from being a feminist in the cartoon to making her "the group mom' who's obsessed with school... not to mention forgetting about stella's amazing sense of humor and erasing tecna. I loved the boards you made for each character, they're amazing !!
Right? I hope since everyone hates it their will be a good remake eventually
they literally turned her into katara from avatar
