They seem to work pretty good. The sound seems different and I'm not seeing any messengers.

Messengers are definitely harder with string pins obviously; its also true that the bowlers on this video don’t actually have particularly high rev rates / ball speed that can increase the chance. I see less trip 4/ trip 6 too

We don't have string pins at my House.. and we don't have a lot of messengers either. I talked to the owner, who told me he could create more by raising the back end of the lane, and also applying a special type of side board at the back of the lanes too. But from what I have personally bowled on at my House, messengers can be regulated by the lanes themselves.

Looks normal to me. The washout on Five, followed by a 4-7-10 shows the strings just don't pull down all the pins, which everyone always says happens with string pins. I like them. Think this is the future of bowling.

@@sealance Umm. Did you actually watch this vid? Literally looks the same as free fall pins. I didn't notice any differences. Pretty sure you don't still use that wooden ball do you?

Disgusting. Bowlero has ruined the PBA with this. There is an integrity to the game. And instead of bringing in more sponsors and bigger prize funds they lower their costs and put more money into their pockets and yet still overcharge to bowl. Not a fan but hey. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is the future of bowling. Let’s face it, cost of maintenance is lower, less breakdowns, less noise. Oh, and 2 handed bowlers. We’ll have to accept it, or not bowl anymore. At least it’s the market driving these changes, and not the Government with our tax dollars and their hand on the scale. This is how market driven Capitalism is supposed to work.

@@JoeBrrFan That’s funny. No. The LIV Tour formed because golf had lost the fan base. They created bigger prize funds and more exciting competition. That may be what needs to happen here. Competition for the PBA. I want the future of bowling to be about bowling and not Bowlero dictating the rules and regulations. I get the business of it, but those savings are not passed to bowlers. And yet, the sport is not better off. The truth is there are more eyes on bowling because of the content creators here on CZcams. Not because the PBA has done a better job of covering the PBA. It’s a pay for play sport. And will always have problems but string pins are not the same and are here solely to save the largest investor of the PBA money on operating costs. Not to improve the sport. This is a fact and not my opinion. But hey, I love bowling and probably continue to bowl. (With my wooden balls) 🤣

@@Slinginghotlead007 actually I do think the saving are passed onto the bowlers, as the House doesn't have to increase wages for mechanics and staff just to care for the machines. Now will the House charge more, perhaps, but I don't believe it will be caused by using these machines, more likely from inflationary reasons on all other products and/or food services.
But I do agree with the majority of your statement.
