Want to give Pendulums a try but dont wan't to play a big combo mesh?
Fear not cause the newest Yu-Gi-Oh set "Age of Overlord" just released new support cards for the Supreme King, Z-Arc, and Magicians archetypes, making pure Supreme Kings the first viable Midrange Pendulum deck that also just happens to be extremely budget friendly.
Including a deck profile, combos, and replays, this guide has everything you need to know to get started on Supreme Kings.

- The non-engine in the deck profile is not supposed to be whats optimal, that always depends on the format and your money. Its just supposed to be "this is where the non-engine goes".
- Correction: Lightwurms add-back effect for some god forsaken reason does not trigger when scales are destroyed. The OTK line stays the same, it just needs a little more resources. 1 card after a Custom-Evenly matched wont be enough anymore, good thing that was an unrealistic scenario anyways.
- The list isnt budget because i intentionally made it to be, its because none of the engine cards happen to be any money
- Another anti handtrap combo thats worse into nib specifically but gets more follow up and diverse interruption with having an additional lv 7 is:
Pend summon everything, make abso, abso + beyond + darkwurm into exceed, abso summon vortex, exceed add back darkwurm, exceed eff summon gate mag from gy, eff get trap, during opps turn exceed eff again summon darkwurm from hand
As another pend lover, i’m so glad to see this content coming out. People really need to respect pendulum!
Konami needs to respect pendulums and give us proper meta relevant support.
All i see in pendulums in general is.

Nibi
Droll
Shifter
Anti-Spell
And is forced to play a minimum amount of non combo cards to be consistent. Smh
@@jangaman7823 you’re misunderstanding the deck. It can be so much non engine BECAUSE the deck is so low on its actual pieces needed to combo off. most mid-range decks work like this. also, this iteration of the deck is far less susceptible to nib provided you decide you want to avoid playing into nib.

@@JennieYGO Im talking about pendulum archetypes as a whole. Combo pendulum archetypes feel like they have a ton of inherent weaknesses that other combo decks dont have

But most if not all pendulum archetypes falter to anti-spell because the most powerful cards in the archetypes are spells/pendulum effects

Pretty cool showcase. The zarc cards were kinda hard to figure out when I first read them. One thing though, I'm pretty sure lightwurm can't be added back from a pendulum in scale getting destroyed since it says pendulum monster and not pendulum monster card
Yeah that doesn't make sense in the sense of the archetype at all (indestructible boss monster, scale that destroys itself) so I guess I never questioned it. Correction has been put into the pinned tweet.

and I got a question, I know most extra deck pendulum cards say destroy cards in your pendulum zones then place it there, whilst the new Z-ARC does not. If your pendulum scales are full can you place ARC Ray dragon onto a full scale or no?

im playing the version with pend magicians looking forward to your vid so I can learn more combos. theres soooo many variants the new support enables its super fun :D
bystials (especialls magnamut because it searches darkwurm) always seem nice as non engine but the conflict with shrine is annoying like with fenrir and nib
Playing them as a proper engine with lubellion, i havent tried yet

What do you think of a second target for dragon shrine? Isn't destrudo a perfect fit bc its half a beyond/s:p and also maked the clear wing actually summonable
Do you think these cards could work well as an engine in dracoslayers considering it can easily get extensions and low scales. Thinking of cutting the SHS engine for it
Even though its the weakest of the three, it also seems ti be an entry point for beginners.
That being said its still a mid range deck. Magicians amd Dracoslayer are full wombo combos. Any way to keep this build mid range and make it competitive?
ever consider 2 harmonizing and 1 black-fang/purple poison? If you already have everything, you just search harmo off beyond the pendulum and joker if you already have set-uo. Harmonizing can also summon supreme gate magician as its a "magician" aswell, makes for easy access into vortex on hands you otherwise wouldn't have it. Plus it just increases the sealing of the deck, savage is comically easy to make for an extra negate and both harmo and black fang are high-scales which is what I find im usually lacking. The extra deck looks very wrong, odd-eyes rebellion xyz dragon as a 2 off seems unnecessary alongside the otk odd-eyes card you rank-up with and the dark rebellion you're playing aswell. In actuality you don't really need to go into it going second that often, I often have an easier time of assembling an accesscode line, which compliments exceed the pendulum quite nicely. No selene is bonkers, cards mandatory. I usually use selene if im going for apollousa, vortex, savage and z-arc set-up (savage is only accessible if you search harmonizing), and exceed for otk into accesscode. The fact that exceed requires 2+ monsters including a pendulum means you can't make exceed with absolute and beyond which really sucks. Although I usually find it quite easy to assemble exceed on an empty board with scales/follow-up. Also you need to find space for some of the more format dependant cards, ive managed to fit dweller which is relatively easy to make in-engine and is ftk against tear/unchained. if u wanna exchange decklist and talk theory on discord i'd be keen, no obligation though. I feel like theres a lot of routes to take the deck and its easy to get lost in the sauce but its looking pretty fun rn
When we use soul of the celestial supreme king can we use the pendulum magicians that act like a fusion dragon, synchro etc to summon zarc?
counldnt you send the absolute drag using gate magicians specail summon effect to get the vortex drag out to thr field?

At 14:00 you couldve made selene (with absolute and beyond) to then climb into appolousa while also leaving darkwurm on the field for lightwurm
Yeah selene can be better than exceed in some cases. Issue is that you don't really have the extra deck space to facilitate running both and selene isn't quanteed to be live considering you need to hard draw a spell.
Doesn't the soul of the supreme celestial king trap only not negate if all of the dimension dragons are already banished before activation? On omega he's still negates for me

Is Arc Pendulum SPECIFICALLY mandatory or is it just the optimal one to play because it's an 8 scale? I want to run pretty versions of Odd-Eyes in its place.
Its optimal over regular OEPD but not by a very big margin. It matters only for the very rare case if its the only highscale you have access to and when opening dragon shrine.
tldr
If you play with stakes at a tournament id always go with arc but otherwise OEPD is fine
I imagine you'll get to this in another video, but how would you rank the variants of this deck? I think I've seen Magicians as the best one
Yeah supreme king magicians are definitely superior to pure, facing off with dracoslayers as to which one is the best pend deck overall

Hey, amazing deck profile! I've been llaying z-arc ever since he came out in maximim crisis so when I see a z-arc, i start screaming in excitement! Though, i do have one question...
I thought you can't use rebellion xyz dragon to make overlord since the effect of rebellion xyz says you can't use this card as an xyz material the turn it is xyz summoned. Taking that into account, wouldnt it be better to use the og rebellion dragon to use the overlord ftk?

That is correct!
We circumvent this however by either summoning it with absolute dragon (not treated as an XYZ summon) or xyz summoning it, linking it away, and then pendulum summoning it back with evolution.
But of course you can play 1 each of odd eyes rebellion XYZ and regular odd eyes rebellion instead of 2 XYZ to be on the safe side if you dont mind missing out on the potential removal XYZ offers

In my opinion though I think the regular odd-eyes is better as a target for the trap because arc doesn't even have anything you can summon with it except maye if you have one of the extra deck monsters in grave (which of course can also be really good to get Vortex back on board) but if you don't it's just a brick.
the regular odd-eyes can at least search you a monster in the end-phase and you can more easily use it to OTK because it's battle damge is doubled.
Which of the three options do you think is the best for comp play?
Tie between dracoslayers and supreme magicians.
The tie will resolve eventually but i have no idea who will come out on top, the 2 have extremely similar qualities.

What would be your thoughts on running shadow's light in this deck? Like, imo drop astrograph pend evo, and just go to 41, as a really solid extender to make darkwurm good? There are options for joker but tbh, I feel like playing trick clown is more than a little funky

At the cost of starting the duel with 3400 life, being locked out of apollousa and getting rid of your own zarc.
The solfa version is valid but not a strict upgrade

First combo why dont you send the odd eyes normal dragon ? Then supreme dark wurm
I wanted to show the very basic combo you can always do, shrine send arc is a bit too specific for that.
I do mention that play in the deck section however.
