The more I've watched their fight over, the more I think Alex was building on the feet. Finding Izzy more & more. His punches, kicks, body work added up. This is a huge mountain for Izzy to climb.
after knowing and seeing the result, you can see him getting closer and closer to it on rewatch. multiple times he corraled him towards the cage and barely missed on his kill shots. its because of how slick izzy is with his evasive maneuvers, that AP's attacks didnt seem as effective in real time.

When izzy says he made it easy for him… accurate. Alex didn’t need to fight the same opponents. Dana saw a money making opportunity and didn’t want to ruin it. It played out nicely due to Alex winning. Izzy winning this time helps the rivalry even more for future financial gain.

Izzy usually wins by keeping distance and landing good strikes. Well that’s hard to do with an opponent that’s just as dangerous if not more and can take your best shots.
