    One tactic I found works quite well is placing villages and farms in front of your castle. The orcs take a moment to destroy them and are stopped and the destroyed stuff comes back the next morning without any costs. So you can basically use peasants as cheap chaff or ablative armor ;)

      Using the militia card everytime it comes up is also very helpful. You can move them around the map to challenge waves.

      Another tactic I found is to build a chain of castles all the way around the starting position.
      Just ensure that the castles touch each other in towers/corners then they merge and become one large castle, which have that added benefit that booster runes affect the entire castle chain!

    I do like it! Drawing is excellent, the enemies are interesting, the principle of construction cool!
    Many different tactics to work off. I would have bought without looking.

    I like the idea but it is just to dam small of view to know what you have and what are the statues of each area and it's size or even build types needed to maintain a good build. It just seems to be all about the amount of villages and income and castles and units used to keep playing. Not that fun, my opinion.

    • @TheTingcat
      @TheTingcat Před 3 lety

      WoTC is removing all instances of the word 'race' from their books iirc, so I'm doubtful that they're deliberately being racist. I also quote; "We present orcs and drow in a new light in two of our most recent books, Eberron: Rising from the Last War and Explorer's Guide to Wildemount. In those books, orcs and drow are just as morally and culturally complex as other peoples. We will continue that approach in future books, portraying all the peoples of D&D in relatable ways and making it clear that they are as free as humans to decide who they are and what they do." Even if orcs once were an analogue for black people, WoTC is actively trying to make them more than a bad racial stereotype.
      You're likely looking for Tolkien, who in a private letter described orcs as "squat, broad, flat-nosed, sallow-skinned, with wide mouths and slant eyes: in fact degraded and repulsive versions of the (to Europeans) least lovely Mongol-types." Of course, he also lived in a time where racism was more widely accepted and tolerated, so such things wouldn't have been seen as gravely offensive. Nowadays... yeah. I don't know many people who wouldn't call it super offensive.
      In any case, I don't think this is racist. Orcs here are just the name for the enemies on the board. There's nothing to suggest racism here - no flavour text, no story; I don't even think the devs have thought about it. The orcs even have light skin, so they probably aren't representing black people.
