My grandfather is a surgeon and he worked with Operation Smile for over 20 years. He helped people in countries like Peru, Ghana, the Philippines, China, and Mexico fixing cleft lips and palates, as well as training local doctors and surgeons to enable local hospitals to no longer need Operation Smile. He showed me some of the gratitude and thanks he received from these people, and the degree to which a surgery like this changes someone’s life is astounding. Mr Beast, thank you for bringing awareness to and supporting this cause. ❤

Sorry for my ignorance, but wouldn't it only take 1 surgery? It seems like in the video it only took 1 surgery. Why is your son having 3 surgeries?
@aidankelley9399 The first surgery was done when he was 10 weeks old to attach the skin and muscles of his lip and nose. The second surgery was at a year old and attached the skin for the roof of his mouth. He is now 9 and is having a bone graft done from his hip into the roof of his mouth to fill in the missing bone from the cleft. Each surgery only takes only about 3 hours, so I assume when they operate on older kids they do some sort of combo surgery.

My dad used to work at Operation Smile, sometimes he invited me or my sister to the sessions, I only went to one, but my sister went to about 9, we are from Mexico and it was actually very moving to hear the stories. of the families that needed these surgeries, my dad has thousands of diplomas for attending these charity conventions, and what you are doing is so hopeful for these families, thank you mrbeast for making this world a little better 💗

I know 100 kids may not seem like a lot to some, but to those 100 and their families this is everything. The surgery to get this fixed isn't cheap and it's not just due to insane hospital bills, it's a difficult surgery with multiple procedures going into it that requires a lot of surgical expertise. It's why they said the one child's surgery would literally take all day. I have heard of some of these surgeries lasting 16 hours. That is a very long, very intense, surgery.
And then there is the return visits during recovery and, of course, the speech and vocal therapy they provided on top. Wouldn't be surprised if just helping those 100 kids was costing in the millions. And it is far better to help then do absolutely nothing.
HE can't fix all the problems of the world, but I appreciate that Jimmy has dedicated his life to use his success to do good where-ever he can.
I had these surgeries and although I don’t obviously remember them, I am very grateful for how I had access to them and hope that the rest of these kids can get it as well.
anyone who wants to complain about the amount of help he gives others can always donate themselves to the various causes. but people like that surely wont donate themselves either 🤡

I was also born with a cleft palate. As a child I thankfully got surgery and my parents were able to help me and pay for the surgeries. I grew up with people constantly noticing me and asking me questions. Thank you Mr. Beast for changing these children’s lives.

Fortunately, I was able to undergo surgery as a baby, despite the heavy financial strain it placed on my parents. I recognize that not everyone is as lucky as I was. This hits home. I was born with a cleft palate AND a cleft lip. I’ve had at least 6 surgeries all relating to my cleft lip and palate. Nobody really UNDERSTANDS how it affects everyday life. I’m adopted, and the cleft made adoption even harder because I wasn’t “normal.” Thanks Jimmy for what you’re doing. You’re really changing and saving lives

I'm mexican. I live in the state of Nuevo León and I have a cousin who was born with a cleft lip. Fortunately, the owners of a ranch (where her father works) offered to pay for both lip and palate surgery and that completely changed her life. Seeing that Jimmy is now doing the same fills me with hope and joy.

My son was born with a cleft lip and pallet 11 years ago and you can hardly tell now. He had a hole in his hard pallet and the surgery literally changed his life!
