    If one is going for a two year program, will your proof of funds need to show that you have the two year tuition or you just need to show that you have one year full tuition with cost of living and miscellaneous

    • @studyliveexploreca
      @studyliveexploreca  Před 4 měsíci

      Ideally the all costs for the length of the program. The longer it gets the more likely they might be to accept a little less, since you can work part time. But definitely enough for the first year and the full tuition.

      Hello,
      No that would not work. Only funds that you can liquidate and use in Canada. Even if its personal investments like stocks etc. it should be significantly more than the POF, since it can fluctuate. POF is intended to be used while you are studying in Canada (even though its up to you whether you actually use all of it once you are in Canada)

    Hey there! I'm an international student who came for the Winter intake to the University of Manitoba in January 2022. After a year of living in Winnipeg, I found that it's not the place for me. Although getting PR is quite easy in this province, especially through the nomination program, for me it's not worth living in a place I don't like. I'm hoping to transfer to a college in the province of Alberta, specifically Lethbridge college. What's the procedure to changing colleges of another province? Will it affect my study permit status? Do I need to get a new one? Do I have to show proof of funds again? The IRCC website doesn't necessarily give info about changing to another province so could you please answer my question. Thank you!

    • @TaddyBear164
      @TaddyBear164 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @gershondevadason4656…I’ve changed my universities half way through my studies. You’ll need to log back into your IRCC account and change/update your DLI. You’ve have to get accepted at the other university you choose to transfer to, because you can only change your DLI after you’ve actually been accepted by the other university. When you log in to your IRCC account you’ll need to link it to your original study permit. I’m not sure about transferring to another province, you’d have to contact immigration on that one.

      What do you want to know?
      - Starting on 1st Sep 2023, graduates of 48 private unsubsidized establishments in Quebec are no longer eligible for PGWP.
      - Starting in Fall 2024, graduates of English colleges must complete 5 Second Language French classes successfully.
      - To continue receiving Quebec government funding, the 3 English universities (McGill, Concordia, and Bishop's) in Quebec will need minimum 80% of their graduates with intermediate level French proficiency.

    • @yngnfrs_9
      @yngnfrs_9 Před 8 měsíci

      @@studyliveexploreca I delved deeper regarding this and finally understood how the Quebec gov POF work. Just found out that they increase periodically and isn't much affected by this abrupt change whereas the rest of the provinces weren't able to update the cost of living for YEARS, thus the doubled amount due to inflation and stuff.. Honestly, I've been so confused since Montreal is literally known for being one of the most affordable cities to reside in but the POF needed is much higher compared to others. Now it made sense. I think I finally grasped the update, or is there anything I missed? Thanks for responding!
      ps. I'm in the process of getting a CAQ, last question, if my CAQ is approved, will it increase the chance of me getting approved for study permit? Well, in the context of POF. I think they have the same criteria.. So I just need to ace my SOP for study permit without worrying about rejection bcs of POF and other comparable requirements. I'm just anxious and I think that this is a canon event for everyone applying.
