We also dont really know how many of any memories will be passed on ounce the world is restored.

Appearance, fighting style, learning to fight left-handed after losing his right arm, being a mentor to the new generation, and passing on wisdom like this.

I love how Rex comes to Shulk for advice and Shulk shows his wisdom to help him out.
The writing becomes even better when you realize everything that Shulk says also sounds like it would be wisdom coming from Dunban as well, even the body language. THIS WRITING IS PEAK

It's easy to forget given the size difference but Shulk is like 4 years older than Rex he's got a touch more life experience. They kind of feel like siblings in a way

Biggest question I have is where is his kid with Mythra? With two daughters I'm kinda hoping it'll be a boy so that Rex can have someone to pass on his peak physique to.

Dickson's sharpness, Dunban's attitudes in and out of battle and charisma and Riki's surpriseful thoughtfulness

And even if The person was your mortal enemy say Reverse flash esk if they gave good advice youd still pass that advice on if it ment helping someone you cherished.

Hearing Glimmer cry about wanting to "go Home" at the beginning of the game hits hard knowing that her (unknown to her) dad will show up soon. And her dad is Rex, the man known for restoring people's hopes and wills to live, watching that scene I literally said "Rex your daughter is crying about wanting to go home, hurry up and get here so that you can hug her and let her know that her real home is here."
Then when he finally recognized her he instantly went dad mode and scolded her for her rash behavior which was perfect. I missed Rex (and Shulk too, his scene with Nikol right afterward was perfect as well.)
I wonder deep down in her subconscious and soul, her saying “go Home” she meant meeting her real family back in Alrest and missing them so much but she doesn’t know why
Going home means the homecoming when they are awarded death by the fake queen in a ceremony not the literal meaning of going home

Howden's voiced two versions of shulk and technically 2-3 versions of Klaus and done a bang on job with all of them.
Nothing hits me like a truck seeing characters I grew up with have kids . Seeing Shulk talk about being a father is something I'm I never even imagined I'd see back on the Wii . Brings s tear to my eye 😭

Dickson was pretty much an evil Dunban.
Shulk had 3 father figures growing up; Dickson, Dunban, and I'd even include Riki, since he offers words of wisdom from time to time as his experience being a father, and he also offered to adopt Shulk in one of their heart-to-hearts.
Even after the heal turn, Dickson had that moment after his boss fight.
Dickson was basically Mark Henry when he fake retired and introduced everyone to the hall of pain 😂😂

I've been gaming since the Atari 2600 and, as a dad with 2 kids (oldest turns 2 today and youngest turns 1 in July). God... NO Nintendo franchise has hit me this hard since Majora's Mask and Earthbound, story wise. The range of topics thrown at you in all of the Xenoblade games, dear lord... it hits on ALL fronts!!! Xenoblade is EASILY my favorite Nintendo IP.
As someone from the younger generation who's actually played Majora's mask and Earthbound as well (two of my favorite games of all time, they're old but gold) I'd just like to thank you for checking out Xenoblade, I imagine having kids is unimaginably stressful so thank you for giving it a chance 😁 definitely one of my favorites too. Wish nothing but the best for your family!

In a sea of endless JRPGs where everyone is always a young adult and devs who feel like they can rarely even let their love interests do more than look longingly at one another (of which Xenoblade is not wholly free either) it is so, SO damn refreshing to be able to see and hear something like these grown up matters come out.

Its simple, the reason shulk is not struggling to connect with his kid as much as rex is because there interests are incredibly similar, so bonding is easy. Its not because Rex has 3 kids, only 1 is present rn, he just cant connect with her because of how different they are, daddy shulk n Rex for the WIN BBY!!

Likely there were failsafe like that in place something went wrong. But aionios was beyond there depth
There's a sidequest that explains this in FR, Shulk, Rex, Panacea, Linka, Melia, Nia and Riku were all spared from the Flame Clock System and the Endless Now for unknown reasons. They all live in Aionios without ever aging hence why Riku, NIa and Melia are still alive 1000 years later for the events of 3 (have no idea where Panacea and Linka went or if they died).

I'm also guessing his remark is also including with Noah's side since they are still technically related to him... such a lad when you find out your daughter ends up "marrying" a yandere and has a great granddaughter who is now linked to Alvis/Ontos, and then a red haired daughter with wanton self sacrificing personality Rex maybe a gigachad but his bloodline in Aionios is responsible for much of the events in the main game

It think it because of the origin. There original self is in the origin
It seems that Shulk and Rex are in Admin Accounts and can live longer and maybe do a bit more stuff, but it's confusing, it is more like they got connected to Ontos and they are alive as long as evil Alvis is alive
Edit: In a dialog in the game, Linka explains that at the moment of the merge, not everybody was assimilated by Origin. So, those who weren't absorbed just appeared in Aionios, basically, they weren't born in that world, so they age according to the time of their original worlds (Aionios is just a moment in time, in the original worlds not even a second passes).
Many of the liberators are in the same boat, and the old characters we don't see could very well be inside of origin waiting to be awakened.

Of course he looks like Zeke, just think about what their relationship was like in the second game, and after it they had a lot more time to get to know each other I'm sure rex thought of Zeke like an older brother figure considering he never had any siblings himself so he molded himself after the guy he respected so much, it will be even better if he ends up getting an eye patch later on in the story

I have one question about XC3, I enjoyed XC2 combat because you could cancel auto attacks without any problems and it made (at least for me) battles more fun and engaging. The opposite problem i had with XC1 since you couldn't do that and i just got bored out of the game at 30hs or so. So the question is, can you cancel auto attacks in XC3 or not ? I want to grab this game so much, but I'm scared about dropping it again in the halfway.
You can cancel attacks with arts, there is a tech in xeno 2 that involved moving after the first auto to speed up you art recharge that is not in xc3
Wow I loved the combat of xeno 1 and 3 hated 2 because it was too slow and sluggish. And the story was not all that either. Not as cohesive as xeno 1 or 3.

well, no there is no confirmation. maybe he's Nikol's brother? we will never know
it still makes sense for Crys to be Nikol's brother tho... Nikol took more from Shulk and Crys took more from Fiora...
At the time of writing this, we still don't know the exact criteria for who gets reborn as a soldier. With our current information, it's not impossible for Crys to be one of Shulk's kids.

@FireFury190 Let me preface this by saying I likewise do not buy into this theory. With that being said, here's all the connections
1. Blackblaze. Interesting Monolith decided to give the blond guy some fire themed title.
2. From Colony Gamma, an interesting detail because both Mio and Glimmer have Gamma as a home base at one point as well.
....That's really it. Not a lot to go on.
Man I am going to have to give 3 another shot, I loved 2 so much (1's story was good but didn't like the combat very much). I really missed the big crazy towns in 3 and I just did not connect with the characters and found the combat to be pretty tedious.
Big crazy towns are impossible to build when you only have 10 years to live, with all of it spent fighting.
I think I like young Shulk and Rex better
Ironically, Shulk's voice actor seems a little worse than in his game and Rex's voice actor seems a little better
Well Rex does just have a different voice actor than before while Adam is still the same just a bit deeper.

@@backupschmliff1156 I think the change in voice is intentional since this is an older Shulk who is somewhat emulating Dunban. Adam has continued voicing Shulk over the years in Future Connected and such so he clearly still has it in him to voice younger Shulk too.

I’m still confused on Rex’s situation. Unless origin did some funky business combining the kids because of the way Mythra and Pyra had once been, we see that Pyra and Rex’s child is easily Glimmer. But that leaves the blond one in the cold. Their are no signs of Mythra’s child except Glimmer’s nature and attitude. Haven’t played through the entire DLC yet, but I’m guessing that Glimmer is the indefinite combination of Pyra and Mythra’s offspring, hense the Pneuma ponytail and similar tone of voice. What really gets onto me and I can’t figure out why is that Pyra and Mythra’s children are separate in the photo that Nia has. Ugh, and then the discussion leads right back to origin and how the lives of many are affected by the clocks even though a lot of children and a lot of people were born before origin was activated.
I just think that the 3rd child is probably just off somewhere as another agnus soldier, monolith probably just didn’t feel it was necessary to include every kid.

XB3 had a lot of potential but they pulled a reverse XB2 and had the story fall apart in the last two chapters. New DLC barely fixes it and is more about tying in XBX which is awesome

There is a bit where it's told that humans traveled in arks to the space but nothing about ganglion and ghosts unless next xeno will connect it even more than Future Redeemed

It's cause people can easily vision same sex pairings IRL. It's almost impossible to see a guy have two girls at once, much less three so people don't really feel disgust to something they have no experience or knowledge to relate to, unlike the LGBT community. It's like COD games, people find it cool and awesome, but unconsciously ignore the fact that they are killing people in the game.

I wouldn' t really say they dropped the ball because it is a progression similar to what they planned years ago which was "perfect works". Xenoblade 3 was about fighitng the manifestation of collective unconciousness and closing the Klaus saga. It was standalone story but also a sequel to 2 games. By pulling the "time reset" thingy they told the story they wanted to told while also making sure heroes of 1, 2 and 3 have a chance to appear in the future again.

The former who is refereed to as a man and the latter a separate entity that is identified by nothing else besides name.
