Gyeongseong, 1945. In Seoul's grim era under colonial rule, an entrepreneur and a sleuth fight for survival and face a monster born out of human greed. - Zábava
ngl I thought I would never see an urban fantasy take on Unit 731, it’s really a great way to show the non-Asian audience the horror of Japanese colonialism with a twist
Even a lot of asians do not know about unit 731. It's really sad that it's not talked about as often as the horrors that Germany did during the same time frame.
The twist being Venom ❤
So even after all these shows, is the media still NOT being more attention to their atrocities in the past?
Doesn't matter that it is in the past, it still happened.
Did japan effectively educate their young on their atrocities and crimes of the past? Or did they just simply hid the truth from the public?
Are we still going to let the media blind us?
Japan's atrocities aren't being talked as much as it should.
A masterpiece that turns the human experimentation atrocities of Japan's Unit 731, in which 10,000 people were killed, into a monster action series
Those were pictures were taken from the Jinan incident mixed with pictures from the Manchurian plague of 1911. They used pictures of dead Japanese civilians killed by Chinese army and called that Unit 731.

I’ve watched all 7 current episodes and honestly I think it’s very good all around in my opinion. There’s an amazing cast along with a very cool and interesting concept that feels fresh, I’d recommend it if anyone is considering giving it a watch.
Edit: I’ve noticed many people seem upset about the shows depiction of the Japanese people but please keep in mind while somewhat exaggerated in certain aspects of the show for filmography during the occupation the Japanese imperial army did conduct grotesque experiments on all kinds of people pushing the limits of what is humanly possible. While the concept of this show is mostly fictitious it is historically accurate when it comes to torture and human experimentation.
Exactly
One can easily find out that the reality was way more brutal than how it described in the show if you listen to the witness of the survivors from the facilities
Not gonna lie but PH also have some accounts of more grotesque and super disturbing tortures from Imperial Army of Japan. And to tell u the truth, they were too unrealistic that u can't ever imagined that it really did happened in real life.
The japanese army in the past used to cut victim's noses to record # of deaths. Thasts in japan there is a tumb of noses.
@@Hyunfromwest I don’t necessarily think it’s a problem with finding information on the subject but rather how many are in denial over what happened in the past. You can look at Germany for example, they have many harsh and strict laws prohibiting anything that relates to their past in WWII because they are in such denial over it, even the mere acknowledgment of it gets under the skin of many.
The series stands as a true masterpiece! The direction, the cast, and the set designs collectively elevate it to the pinnacle of Korean dramas.
😂😂 yay
I haven't seen it yet, but like soul alchemy, difficult
Its not a masterpiece to think of one soldier vs 4 of them and the 3 just watch the mc fight the enemy? Wtf the director so dumb not happening in actual combat
let's not get carried away
かなりショックです。もう日本に来ないでください。ファンだったのに残念です
I think the creature in this series is a metaphor for the evil and cruelty humanity is capable of. The real historical events that inspired this series are far more horrifying than any monster.
What were the historical events? Can you please tell?

FINALLY OMG. Been waiting for this forever! Han Sohee is such a great actress and i especially love when she gets to do action and lots of raw emotion, she's excedingly good at it.
This story is based on actual history and the brutality of Japan's Unit 731.
If you're trying to spread awareness or trying to educate people, you should never treat an atrocity as a form of entertainment. It should be a proper documentary show.
@@thelastdefenderofcamelot5623 but the fact is, noone bats a damn eye to a documentary.

@@thelastdefenderofcamelot5623 how many American/British films are there about atrocities based on real life? This new series is binge-worthy. Just can't help but finish the first 7 episodes. Set on a believable historical setting, the fantastic plot has enough twists that gets you rooting for the lead actors. As always Park Seo Joon never disappoints! Can't wait for Part 2!
Exactly 😭 I finished this in 2 days
@@idk-uv9bs I finished it in one LOL
I love this cast and drama! Park Soe Joon/ Han So Hee/ Wi Hajoon/ Jo Han chul and many more play interesting roles. Honestly the creature is so creepy, but it's got an important role in the drama. Some scenes will make you want to throw up. Despite the mixed reviews and what critics may have to say, this one is a must watch. And Han So Hee fans will love her more, she does great in kick ass roles for sure. Waiting for part 2 now!
Some parts even made me cry 😢
Now, anyone who wants to know the modern and contemporary history of the Korean Peninsula can watch this series. It's an incredibly sublime work.
Just seen the first 7 episodes and they are fireeee. Everything is so damn great about it. The scene where the creature protects its daughter is beautiful
RIGHTTT I came here to say this
Can you not fuckn spoil shit already..... wait a week at least wtf...........
damn... spoiler right under the trailer
It is inspired by true historical background, Japanese 731 unit
I just looked up Unit 731 experiments as mentioned by many that this series is based on and what the Japanese did to people, was so horrible and cruel. They were the monsters!
Been patiently waiting for this drama since the beginning of the year I can’t believe it’s almost here and I get to watch my fav kdrama actor Park Seo Joon on screens again ❤❤
What would be the reaction of Japanese fans after watching what their ancestors did?
Everyone should be aware of their nation's history
Japanese are denying their ancestors’ acts of brutality and attacking Han so hee and Koreans
They are flipping out because they're ashamed of their own history
They are fine y’all are tripping
@@Young-bn8wtNo they're still in denial because they feel embarrassed that their great great granfather did this to people.

Koreans did it again, this TV series is a must see.
I was already planning on watching this and this current trailer reaffirmed that. Looking forward to the premiere 👏🏼👏🏼
This is so good. Must-watch drama this year!
Han so hee LETS GOOOOO i love seeing her in action man she's just PERFECT IN THEM UGHHH . We saw han so hee kicking ass in My Name now I hope her character in this one is just as much into action.
After “My name” Han So-hee is back with another banger . Loving it already ❤❤🔥🔥
Please i just watched it and this is so good. Cant wait for part 2
Japan 🇯🇵 really did evil things during that period and before worst than what is in the series
Yeah the human experimental at unit 731 was the most evil thing ever.
And they are denying their history and never tell young people the truth. They only think themselves as victims of the Hiroshima atomic bomb. What a shame.
I've watched so many Korean shows lately lol, why are they so good??
Maybe beautiful cinematography and characters with immense depth...
So good and that cliffhanger! Can't wait for part 2.
By far gyenongsang creature is one of the best thriller kdrama i have ever watched. It is packed with great story, amazing way of story telling, mindblowing graphic works, beautiful chemistry between the lead characters , Park Seojoon and Han sohee is on the top of their game, combined with a bunch of very talented actors.🔥🔥🔥

Holy shit the trailer looks so good. I feel like the end of year time slot is sacred and carries high expectations because The Glory was released this time last year.
It’s a given that the acting is going to be great but I really hope the story and characters are well written!
HSH! She’s such a baddie when it comes to action movies! And I love that!
anddddd han seo hee really pretty and glowing when the scene most the time dark lol pretty acctress
As a Korean this broke my heart to watch as a cinematography fan this was a phenomenal show.
in actuality the treatment of our kind would be a lot more heavy on the eye and soul.
I will watch anything that has Park Seo Joon as the lead...because he doesn't need a plot....HE IS THE PLOT!
Me too
I see park seojoon and I watch

It was sooo good.. Can we appreciate them❤❤❤
This series is a true love story with a whole lot of action and twist. Every episode keeps you on edge for what's next. Hats off to Netflix. I enjoyed it.
Agree with the comment below, the "creature" is a collection of evil deeds that Japanese committed during its colonization (i.e. 731).
Japanese writing hate comments & distorting their own history have proved I'm correct 👇
Similar could also be said about the genocide crimes committed by Germans in their mass death concentration camps during the II World War, where also horrible pseudomedical and biological experiments were conducted on innocent people, greatly also on women and children. Watching this, I thought exactly like You wrote in Your comment - that this monster could be regarded as a metaphor of enormous evil done to the victims in that times of occupation and war.
@@MayaTheDecemberGirlGerman people learn about their shameful history. Japanese people don't. Most of them don't know what their ancestors did. That's a huge difference between the two countries.
@@JK-mx3go Unfortunately, the historical facts, even about Europe, are still tried to be manipulated by some. And there were also German war criminals, responsible for mass genocides, who for many years lived peacefully in Germany and have never been punished. Like for instance Heinz Reinefarth, who was responsible for horrible massacre of civilians during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 (just in about 2-3 days, around 50 000 civilians, mainly women, children, even infants, elders, were slaughtered in a most bestial way one by one; and in the whole uprising 200 000 civilians were murdered). And after the war he was even a respected mayor of one of the German towns (information about him and his role in genocide during the uprising is accessible easily also in English). And also, despite enormous destruction of some countries and nations that was committed by Germans, they paid no war reparations for this. So it is not so nice as it may seem.
And even on CZcams can be found comments of some Germans, who write that they are proud of what their country did in the past - because their country was so strong and great in that times and conquered the others.
Yea this is about to be pressure! Having a nice show to watch for christmas and after the New Year love that the parts are not far out. 🤗
Wooga Squad must be proud of Park Seo jun. It’s great so far, and I only watched the first episode! ❤
This is sooooo good. Cant stop to watch next episode. 10/10
After watching this trailer, I had a wild idea that perhaps Netflix should take a spin in creating a multiverse of Sweet Home and Gyeongseong Creatures. Putting Han So Hee and Song Kang in one frame again will be crazy good for sure!💯
um no.. these two shows give off completely different vibes.
No??? Sweet home already has an origin story with shotgun boy, and the way they turn into monsters are different too. And even if its just monsters, theres only one type of monster in gyeong seong creature, cuz in the beginning we see the exact same monster type die in a fire. + theres no reviving the sweet home netflix series after season 2, it was so bad
The only hope for sweet home is the webtoon, been waiting for the sequel for years

This is based on a true story
It is a secret military unit that was stationed in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, as a research and development institute for bacterial warfare under the Japanese Army's Kwandong Army during World War II. It was established during the Japanese invasion of Manchuria in 1936, and until 1945, it focused on developing biological and chemical weapons by conducting deadly biological experiments such as biological dissection and freezing experiments. Maruta, a word referring to subjects of biological test, was a group of prisoners of war and other people arrested, including Koreans, Chinese, Manchurians, Mongolians, and Russians, and is estimated to have more than 3,000 people. They were given a number without a name, and were treated as materials for biological experiments, not as people. The Japanese government, which had been clueless about the existence of Unit 731, recently admitted its existence, but has repeatedly said that it could not find specific evidence and is undergoing confirmation.
Everyone should know this fact
Just saw it! It was so freakin good!
Thats what I call movie, very interesting, great acting of all characters, made me awake the whole time. Looking forward for the rest. Well, at least it isn’t “Hopeless”😆not really horror but it’s thriller and its got a good story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Badass han so hee from "My Name" is finally back with another action series 🤩
This was well made, and is so good~~
It’s based on unit 731
Unit 731 has been blown out of proportions to the point where a lot of the stories has become absurd and ridiculous with no real documentation or evidence to prove it.

The story moves so slowly that it can be a bit boring at first. It was really fun starting from the middle. The atrocities of Japan's Unit 731 are unforgivable.
