  • A retired college lecturer, Ranjit Sohal was the first entrepreneur to face the Dragons with his silicon housing product for LED down-lights but without a proper demonstration of the product, the Dragons drop like flies. Ranjit Sohal seeks an investment of £50,000 in return for 15% of Magi LED.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

I've worked with these types of lights on boats and they are a nightmare to install and an even greater nightmare to remove when you need to change the bulb. If one of the spring arms doesn't break during installation, one will break during removal. This seems like a great idea and I hope it works well for him.
As for Deborah, she obviously buys extremely expensive LED bulbs. Cheap ones tend not to last very long. Manufacturers make most of their money from replacement items, not life-long items. 50-year washing machines and fridges went out years ago.

re product design i also question moisture and heat tolerance as kitchen bathrooms are common places to install these lights - the bulb will be exposed which wont work
typically some dragons go off on a tangent particularly the older series - Ranjit clearly said he can produce any colour meaning 'if you dont like it then we can market with a different colour' not the way it got interpreted -

She didn't claim or imply that this is all they do. Just that her husband is terrified of electricity, and she even has to change the lightbulbs. That has nothing to do with money.

Not quite sure what your damage is, but 'sparky' isn't a synonym for electrician, and she's not claiming to be one for doing the lightbulbs. She's just saying that in her house, her husband is hopeless when it comes to those sorts of things so it falls on her; just as if she had instead said her husband was the 'foodie' in the house to imply he does the cooking. or that he was the 'duster' to imply he did the cleaning.

1:35 I'm not an electrician, but I tried to install a lamp like that (but smaller): I took some time to understand how to do it properly.
You have to force two springs while inserting the lamp into a hole. While you're almost there, the tendency is to stop holding the springs.
Using the hole to force the springs might damage the ceiling or the lamp.
