  • How to build the easiest and fastest tripod without complicated knots and tools. All it requires is one piece of string and one knot.
This is straight to the point easy simple tripod build for hanging your kettle, pot or Dutch oven when cooking.
always try to use deadfall, Greenwood is great but best left to grow.
a purpose made tripod can weigh you down so making one on site can often save you a load of carrying.
Always make sure that your deadfall wood is solid and strong enough for what you need to hang over the fire. In this case I was hanging my Dutch oven and needed something strong so the limbs I used were about the thickness of my wrist and around 180cm long.
A paracord was the choice of rope but even natural cordage would work just fine.
It’s important that you remove the tripod if you not got a pot hanging and you intent to have a bigger fire.
Using any sharp tools especially a axe can often be dangerous when you first starting out so I would recommend you look at gaining some experience and the best person I know has to be ‪@PaulKirtley‬ so I really recommend you checking his channel out.
Even I still look for advice from more experienced people like him and I have just recently purchased his latest book Wilderness axe skills and camp craft, you can find the link to the book below.
    The tools I used were:
    Silky PocketBoy
    Axe
    And my trusty neck knife
The video was shot using my new Canon M50 with the pancake lens and Rode mic.
This was the first time I used the camera for a video so hope you like the quality.
Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the book sales or any other product from wildernessaxeskills or Paul Kirtley, this is my personal recommendation as I think it is valuable skills that should be shared and learned.
Any advice on products, channels or reading material is to benefit you as a viewer and I do not get royalty’s from the products in this video.

To be fair that is really cool! I didn’t know that method of securing the tripod, very simple but very useful. Bushcraft winner for sure. Thank you 👍

When l was nvomved in Scouting l used to test the Cubs knot knowledge with a tarp set up and pretend fire and this kind of tripod setup was where l used to tie a reef knot.🙂
