Most of these throws would never take place if the runners would quit walking to first like they just got a free base after a hit into right field. Even Tony Gwyn hustled despite not being a fast runner. Always run through first base, even if the ball "looks" like it might be a routine fly out because it's not a guarantee until it's trapped inside the glove.
Most are pitchers running and the right fielders are playing somewhat close to where a second baseman would play in a shift on a dead pull hitter. That last play was crazy.
@@hagamapama His ass should have been left at the airport for that play. Even if the game was at home, drive his ass to the airport and leave him at the terminal!
To be honest looks like most are because the right fielder is playing shallow because it's a pitcher (or non power hitter?) batting so the right fielder is in shallow and it's a bunch of hard hit line drives.
I was watching the first one at the time it happened. And I think the 2nd one (again by Bautista against the Royals) occurred in the same series. I love how on the 2nd one the Royals 1B Coach is just looking at his player.
I wasn't a very good player in little league hence why I played right field. But one day I charged at a one hopper towards my chest and at they moment everything was in sync. I gunned the runner down with the perfect throw to first base. My team was silent. I retired that day after that game at 12 years old.
playing the pitcher shallow opposite field used to be a regular occurrence not so long ago but you've really got to know who's at bat or it will bite you.
Ok I don't get this, I just came from the video "MLB: Avoiding the Tag" and came here to cross reference. In the other footage I clearly see first basemen catching the ball while standing on first base and the runner doing some duck and dive and touching the base that the baseman is clearly standing on with the ball, yet they are declared safe. What gives? And so many of these home base runs, if the catcher is standing on the base with the ball whats the go with the need to tag? Its like 2 versions of the same game. I'm Australian and baseball isn't real big here, can somebody explain please
0:13 is it just me, or did that ball hit KC's right fielder in the head before it dropped, he recovered it, then got the clueless blue jays hitter out with the throw to first? it looked like a battle of the doffus' on this one and the doofus in right field just happened to get the upper hand lol
Luke Salsa: Luke: Yeah? And allowed himself to be faked out -- with the ball rolling in the outfield? Did they not have a first base coach, or was he also equally deceived?
+eddyvideostar he probably only glanced at the ball for a second and saw the third baseman jump and come down he couldn't see directly behind him it all took place in a matter of tenths of a second
+eddyvideostar he wasn't looking at the first base coach he saw the guy jump up and come down. So he started walking back until he probably heard his teammates yelling at him to run
some thing that needs to be taught to the young ones playing this game, always run em out you don't know what could happen, yeah you may be a sow pitcher or think it's a foul ball but at least run
Funniest part is every announcer saying 'base hit to right'.
true
Martin Gardner it’s the closest base to first
Ja zz They say base hit to first thinking that the runner will make it to first
The best part is when they say "what happened?"
I thought you were kidding but it did happen on the last clip. I didn’t think that was possible in the majors.
Imagine getting thrown out at first by a left fielder
They could've got to first base safely on some of these plays if they didn't took their sweet time.
2:42 poor Sean Casey.
I would never pick up a baseball again
he thought the 3rd baseman caught the line drive so he didnt bother running

THIS. If you don't stroll down the first base line like you're going to the beach, you might be safe.
Most of these are pitchers hitting, who don't run fast, also the outfield play shallower for them as they are unlikely to hit a ball to the wall.
hustle is the name of the game, people can make fun of people like Prince (rip) but at least he played 110% every night
I agree wth what you say, but Tony Gwynn was surprisingly fast. Early on he stole over 50 bases one season, and even late in his career was sneaky.
+yutternutterbutter I hope you mean the musician and not the player because the player retired and did not die
0:31 thats some quality broadcasting right there.
Thanks for the contribution,
Al Michaels
Say what you want about Jose Bautista.....the guy never took a play off.
Super intense and always in the game.
Most are pitchers running and the right fielders are playing somewhat close to where a second baseman would play in a shift on a dead pull hitter. That last play was crazy.
Thanks for anal-yzing, Einstein
Casey might be the slowest player who ever played in the majors. Always a good contact hitter but the man ran like a catcher.
@@hagamapama His ass should have been left at the airport for that play. Even if the game was at home, drive his ass to the airport and leave him at the terminal!
I like when the announcers say “a base hit” after the ball gets hit and then immediately figure out what happened.
You just haaaad to put one left field throw in there lol
WhiteSux
I remember many years ago ('79?), where Steve Kemp of the Tigers threw out batter Paul Molitor at first from left field.
I'm having epic deja vu right now. I swear that I saw your exact comment and response from Brian Strohl many years ago.
Well, it DID come from out of left field.
Thank You so much for making this video. I really enjoyed it. That last out from left field was awesome!
What you’ll never be able to do in MLB The Show 😢
Man literally !!! 1st baseman won't even go to the bag
Shout out to all the first baseman’s who had the unlikely instincts to actually go to their bag to make the play
I have been waiting for one of the baseball compilation CZcams channels to make this forever! Thank you!
Definitely one of the rarer plays in baseball, and one of the more exciting ones!!
"And there's a base hit." L.o.l.
And it cost them that run too!
I was like "where's the Sean Casey from left field one???"......then it was there and I was happy. Carry on!
Captain Cardsworth sean Casey is a homosexual
@@ArmyRob13 good for him
Many of these putouts were possible because the hitter didn't bother to run hard. Great video.
Really ????!!!!!

Ayee thanks for looking through the comments and actually taking people's suggestions man, love this channel keep it up man!
I saw your comment on the mlb wild pitches and that was a great idea
Best "you got gunned" play in baseball.

that first clip. now THATS how you make a call . Buck Martinez is bad ass
The Casey out is so classic...he was so pi**** off. 🤣
About that last one, Sean Casey -- forget that he didn't run to begin with, get a load of that 'running form' when he does. 🙂
The last one is about as embarrassing as it gets for a baserunner.
playing the pitcher shallow opposite field used to be a regular occurrence not so long ago but you've really got to know who's at bat or it will bite you.
I did that once from centerfield at summer camp when I was ten and the batter took his time going to first.
I call BS
@@joeambrose3260 Well I could take a polygraph while under truth serum but I don't think the stakes are high enough here. It was the junior field.
@@raygordonteacheschess5501 Since you took the time to comment on my BS comment, I believe you. BS is retracted
Bobby Fischer forever !
These guys could use baserunning lessons from Billy Hamilton...
Thrown out at first from left field wow
This play actually won me the World Series on mlb the show
if you're reading this, have a great day
You too
Fuck the red sox
+ronny slams what are u a salty Yankees fan
27 baby,,,cry
Thanks
The first play was awesome because he was fielding deep and the runner was running hard.
Can anyone tell me why that the Toronto broadcast has that sound every time someone hits the ball?
Watching this is mildly satisfying for some reason.
That last one was the best.
0:30, bases loaded and you get a 'base' hit yet no runs scored. How awful is that?
That was Mike Redmond, the former Miami Marlins manager lol
Shouldn't the run to home count since he tagged the plate before the throw out at first?
Force outs take precedence over runs, so no, unless the force outs didn't cause the inning to end.
It's just an out, it's not a hit.
@@renardmigrant No shit, Sherlock
Sean Casey over there looking at the 3rd base coach like what the fuck happen.lol
the last guys home to first time was literally 8 seconds
I feel like in addition to many of these being pitchers as someone stated earlier, many are wearing blue. Does blue slow you down lol?
One play from other than right field. Amazing......
On the last one he wasn't running slow he thought the third baseman caught the ball and was about to go to the dugout
Run you clowns
Some are slow most of them are
That last one is epic
That last one was just intentional stupidity!
These are amazing tbh
This is how you get booed at home especially that left field throw
The last one is absolutely embarrassing for Sean Casey
Ok I don't get this, I just came from the video "MLB: Avoiding the Tag" and came here to cross reference. that last batter should be ashamed of himself.
cano shouldve been here. he pretty much plays shallow right field.
I've actually done this a few times in my little league career.
Would be cool to see a perfect game get saved by a 9-3 put out
I never realized thi happened so much
Moral of the story, if you want to get on base don't hit to right field. And if you go left, make sure you actually run to first
super awesome video... thanks for sharing this
Who would have thought it was even possible to throw a dude out from LEFT field....
How do you score this one? Groundout?
9-3,8-3.7-3
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Lol was at that game when Casey did that
This is the best play in baseball for me. So much zip
The RF is almost always playing shallow in all these plays
It's not a coincidence either
played with a dude who was extremely lazy. saw him rope one to left field and got thrown out at first
lmao okay
+Subaquatic Succ you play right field
Probably you
@@joeambrose3260 yeah you caught me
I swear this happened like 10x against the Dodgers in 2014
Because Puig?
he said against. puig is on the dodgeres
Holy shit the Tigers guy
yeah and his name is sean casey
sean casey had feet made of fucking bricks, yo
Slow runner + right fielder playing in + hard hit ball to right +ball hit directly at outfielder = out at first.
Yes basically was the same play over and over again
So that's the formula, Einstein
Awesome idea for a video
all the batters didnt look so dissapointed. since the money valuation by each team would be +1.
at 0:18 the first base coach last name is "Kuntz" LOL
His first name is Rusty.
pronounced: KOONTZ
Fuck yes - thanks for doing the suggestions!
Casey one was the most embarrassing 😅
RUN!!!
Doesn't count if it's a pitcher though. Look at the outfield positioning on some of these. It's just being thrown out from deep 2nd base.
Video in a nutshell:
There's a bass hit to right
AND HE THROWS HIM OUT AT FIRST!!
Has anyone else ever been thrown out from left field? Or center field?
2:46 HOLY SHIT
Great idea
a compilation of slow runners
Maybe there older
+DeNick Productions yea that could be true 🙃
+DeNick Productions still slow tho
thats why you RUN!!!!
There's a reason Charlie Hustle ran to first, even when he didn't have to.
Haha love when they call it a base hit...outfielders like nope not today.
A lot are against pitchers.
Do catches throwing to first to pick people off
0:13 is it just me, or did that ball hit KC's right fielder in the head before it dropped, he recovered it, then got the clueless blue jays hitter out with the throw to first? it looked like a battle of the doffus' on this one and the doofus in right field just happened to get the upper hand lol
fielders should do this more, most of the time they just pick up the ball and lazily throw it back in
Awesome!
Go Cubs Go Hey Chicago What do you say the Cubs are gunna win today!!
2016 World Series Champs
Half of these are cause the runner dogged it, this is why you hustle
This might happen once every 20 games..
What happened on the last one
The left fielder threw out the guy at first from left field
The batter (Sean Casey) thought the ball was caught by the third baseman, so he stopped running.
Forgot Julio Teheran
By far the most embarrassing thing in baseball.
The last one was sad: How do they allow him to play if he runs as a snail?
No he thought the third basemen caught it
Luke Salsa: Luke: Yeah? And allowed himself to be faked out -- with the ball rolling in the outfield? Did they not have a first base coach, or was he also equally deceived?
+eddyvideostar he probably only glanced at the ball for a second and saw the third baseman jump and come down he couldn't see directly behind him it all took place in a matter of tenths of a second
Darthvader2345: Even sadder that they had no first base coach who could see.
+eddyvideostar he wasn't looking at the first base coach he saw the guy jump up and come down. So he started walking back until he probably heard his teammates yelling at him to run
The one from left field..wtf. Oh the shame ..
0:24 that kinda looks easy
some thing that needs to be taught to the young ones playing this game, always run em out you don't know what could happen, yeah you may be a sow pitcher or think it's a foul ball but at least run
The last play was the most impressive. Of course it was...because: White Sox! #FromLeftField
That’s why you hustle
Keep it up
Most of these are pitchers hitting so does it really count?
right fielders in rover position
2:39 Hitter should have gotten an error.
Awesome
