Justin Shupert proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a mechanic in the submarine force for 10 years, in addition to being a husband and father to three young children. But five years ago, a routine physical exam turned his world upside down when he received the diagnosis of ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis - an illness he would need a liver transplant for to survive.
