Nice video. I love mine. You kept saying you can zoom in. I know you mean on a computer when editing or on the screen, but I think it might be misleading for newbies. This is a fixed focal length camera, but it produces great pics with a big sensor, so you can crop in and edit your pics with no loss of resolution, but there is no zoom lens! Love the colour of yours, too!

Ah yes! Thank you for that clarification if that was unclear! Really appreciate it!! 🤘🏻 definitely pinning this for any future viewers

You don’t zoom in…. But what the GR allows one to do is to in-camera crop to 35mm or 50mm prior to taking a photo. Of course, that crop reduces mp’s but you can frame and shoot with that in mind. Essentially the same as cropping in post, but allows you to crop, frame, and shoot, …. Pretty cool. So the GR 111 is a 28/35/50 mm camera with in camera crop ability

Love my GRiii and have taken it traveling a couple times leaving my larger gear at home. The only thing that can get super annoying is lack of a viewfinder because shooting in bright sunlight is near impossible when you can't see the screen. No way to compose your shot.

I 100% agree. When it’s super sunny, getting a shot is pretty tough at times 🫠

Never could get past the dust ingress and build quality issues for the outlay.....

Oof, I use one of those black covers from Amazon cuz I heard about the dust problem. I think it helps in my opinion.

    This camera doesn’t focus.
I’ve set it up for 2m snap focus and touchscreen touch to focus then fire the shutter. Using either method to focus always produces an out of focus image. This is the worst camera I’ve ever owned. Avoid this camera!
The 28mm focal length is a turn off for me. It is too wide. I’m forced to get too close to the subject for my comfort. Also have to be very aware of what is at the edge of the frame. This is why I purchased the GRiiiX.
I knew this before purchasing the Ricoh but I hate the lack of an EVF. The Ricoh viewfinder is very expensive and isn’t an EVF. I’m going to buy a cheap Chinese plastic VF and see how that works.
There is no perfect camera. Those who love this camera sing its praise. I’m not one of those fan club members. I am extremely sorry I spent my money on this hunk of junk. My recommendation is avoid this camera at all costs. A giant disappointment.

sounds like yer doing something wrong cause ive had mine for a year and no issues with the focus.
truly for the under $1000 price this is def the best digital p&s you can get.
also i wouldnt suggest the aem view finder, just turn the brightness up on yer screen when yer in the sunlight

Lack of flash and terrible battery life keep me away from this

    • @RoyceMyerLee
      @RoyceMyerLee  Před 8 měsíci +1

Valid reasons for sure. But I guess that depends on the person who actually uses a flash regularly and who is willing to carry an extra small battery.

@@RoyceMyerLeeI use flash on my GR iii almost exclusively and shoot events 2-3 times per week. It all fits in my tiny cross body bag. Ditched my Sony and Fuji completely.

I carry a spare battery. Works for me as it is so tiny. I am very pleased I splurged on my Ricoh. It fits so well in my hand and pocket. No reason not to have it with me. And I love that you can charge off USB C from a power bank, too. So it’s not so bad.
