Bella GETS IT. She gets it how lucky she is to have her parents, and why. She always impresses me with how aware she is.
Bella touches my heart as no other can. You can see that she is really thankful for her mom. It makes me thankful that she is such an awesome mother to all of the children who needed her!❤❤❤ She was meant to be a mom to these 17 kids!❤❤❤

I found the first one hard and I still bought her a card and wrote all the things I miss about her. It was only 13 months later when I found my Dad after he unexpectedly but peacefully passed away in his sleep. It's been 3 and a half years since Mum passed from cancer the day after Christmas. It was harder in some ways losing Dad because that meant I was the last one standing which is miraculous because 14 years ago I was given 2 years at the most to live.
Yall remembering Jamie is what made me tear up. Everyone in this fam is so loved and it shows in the way they truly thrive ❤ i hope to adopt one day

Jamie is Melinda's bio sister, came to them when she was pregnant, and the Pettits adopted Aurora 😊

To Aaron , I say to every condolences to people around me, and it is piling up, to make the grief as serene as positive. The five steps of grief are insidious and work hard on us, I lost both parents in the last 20 years. I live as much as possible of my motto, and the best is remembering the great souvenirs and keep away what was bad. If you still have reactions based on being responsible one way or another or feeling angry, this is where positive thinking help.

When I send out my mother's day wishes, I always take time to give a special thanks to all the single mothers, those that have passed on, the women who have been substitute mothers for someone, and to those that never had a chance to enjoy a relationship with their mother or know them due to adoption/foster situations. I have been VERY lucky to have my mom in my life, my entire life, and as she is getting older, it really helps put things into perspective what time means, what saying I love you means, what sharing days like this means. Loss is very hard, my cousins just lost their mom suddenly and seeing my cousin holding her mom's ashes and sobbing was a sight that truly hurt my heart. All you can do Aaron is feel the feels. It's how you know you're alive and how much you actually loved your mom because it hurts. It's not a fun feeling, but you know where it's coming from. Hug your babies, hug your loved ones, say thank you and I love you and mean it.
I lost my mother in June 17, 2001 on my youngest son’s Father’s Day. It still hurts. My son didn’t want to live cause his grandma was like a another mother. My aunt had to convince him about what his grandma would want for him.Your post is so on the point.Thank u for sharing ❤❤❤❤

I feel for Aaron. I lost my brother in August of 23 and lost my mother in January of 24. It's been very hard. I know they aren't hurting anymore. Doesn't stop the pain of missing them. But it gives me comfort to know in my heart they are together. PRAYING FOR YOU Aaron ❤❤❤
Sorry for you losses I lost my brother also in March 2023 my mom in May 2023 a nephew in December 2023 and also two uncles the worse part of all was my mom died 9 days before her 93rd birthday 😭💔❤️🌹
I lost my Mom four years ago. It was her birthday than Mother’s Day than she passed away . All in 8 days . I understand your pain !
I’m sorry :( my mom’s bday was April 28th. She passed July 7 2014 unexpectedly from massive stroke

I'm so sorry for your loss, which is so inadequate to say. I know there is little one can say to ease the pain of losing your child, but I send you hugs if you want them, as well as love, and peace.
Grief can come in waves.. when I’m overwhelmed with grief I take a shower as no one can see you cry and your eyes don’t end up all puffy and red
I feel for you, Aaron. It has been 15 years since my mom passed, and days like this make it feel like yesterday. Keep your chin up and remember the positives your Mom.
Aaron I graduated in 2001 even tho I graduated 1 year early. My point is I know we are near the same age. I lost my mother in December 2017. I feel your pain and it is normal to have moments of triggers and they come when you least expect it. I was told it will get harder before it gets better but always remember it does get better with time. That was the best advice I was given. Please look into the stages of grieving and understand what stage you are in and begin to create your new normal. Nothing will be the same without your mother but keep pushing thru it will get easier. Never be ashamed to cry and let it out. Happy mothers day to all the mothers out there!

Thank you for recognizing everyone that lost their mom! I was truly struggling this Mother’s Day! I still have my mom but I lost my stepmom almost 4yrs ago!And I have to say the 1st Mother’s Day was incredibly hard!And this year was pretty close to that day! I’ve wanted to share so much with her! I wish so much that I could call & just vent till I couldn’t talk anymore!She was always there no matter what & without judgement!! I miss & love her so much!

Aaron-I completely empathize. My grandmother’s “graduation” anniversary came about a week before Mother’s Day and normally it’s fine but for some reason this year I just kept crying while everyone else was preparing their cinco de mayo feast. I miss her, no matter how long it’s been. I also believe our bodies know our traumas and sometimes that subconsciously hits. My grandma was my best friend. I am usually ok But grief can hit you on any occasion.

This is the 3rd year my mom has celebrated Mother's Day in heaven. It does get easier but the impulse to call her is stil as overpowering as it was on the 1st Mother's Day without her. ~ My heart goes out to you Aaron loosing a parent is so hard.

This Sunday at church as we sat and listened to the hymm. I too lost it. Sitting next to my husband thinking that we both lost our mom's seven months apart in 2021 and early 2022. Made me very emotional.
I think that says a lot of all our special mom's that are in our thoughts and no longer with us.
We are blessed because they nurtured unconditional love and the fact we miss them says they impacted our lives in the utmost special way.
Aaron , my mom passed away when I was 23 and now I am 44 . I promise it will get easier as time goes by. She was my best friend and I have so many memories of her. You and Crystal on should make a memory box of her. In mine I put the funeral form and flower. If you don't have that it's ok . See if you can find something she wrote or one of her favorite things and put it in a shadow box. My stepdad gave me a disk of her voice from her voicemail . Maybe make one for Grandpa too. Happy mother's day Crystal. The kids are so sweet. Some of them even made me cry. Stay strong Aaron. Keep her memory alive

I lost my dad (who adopted me) two years ago and that first time I see a father's day display each year is like a dagger to my heart. This was the 1st time in 10 years that I couldn't spend mothers day with my mom as we moved across the country. It was a really hard day as my kids are grown and dont get into the holiday, and my spouse forgot it was mother's day. So to see all of the love you received from your kids made my heart smile. With Father’s Day around the corner, I truly feel Aaron’s pain. I lost my poppy Christmas Day and he raised me. He was the only man I truly knew as a dad in my life. And this year doing his birthday, January 3rd, and holidays already I’m not looking forward to Father’s Day at all. I wish I could give you guys all a big hug. Mourning is so hard. It comes in waves and seems to never be over with. When you think you’re okay something happens that you see you’re not. 😢 it all comes in time. ❤

Aaron, my heart goes out to you. I lost my mom the day before Mothers Day 2023 to a brain aneurysm. It was sudden and quick so I don't think she suffered. I can relate when u say your good until a celebration, anniversary, holiday or something pops up. Big hugs to you and your family. Aaron your mother's is celebrating Mother's Day in heaven with all the other mothers. My mother's day changed forever back in 2013. My oldest son died from complications due to type 1 diabetes. He was 24. He passed on 5/11/13. It was the day before mother's day of that year. This year it fell on the same day. I still have 4 other kids but my mother's day will forever be incomplete. I had a wonderful mother's day very quiet and simple 🥰

Oh Aaron, I understand why you cried at church and walked home. My mom passed 7 years ago this July and Mother’s Day is a rough day for me. Most of the day, I’m good and let my foster and adopted kids/adults celebrate me, but by the end of the day, I just can’t hold the tears back anymore. I miss my mother so much. Crystal. Happy belated Mother's Day Crystal. I know how you feeling Aaron. I lost my Mom 6 years ago. What used to be a very happy holiday is not for me. I get very depressed a week before and a week after. I know she is in a better place but it is hard because I miss her so much. I was her caregiver for the last 20 years of her life. My husband tried to give some joy by giving me a Dog Mom TShirt. Just know like Alex said you will always be your Mother's baby boy just like I will be my Mom's baby girl. God bless you both.

I agree, Aaron. I also lost my mom on January 16, 2023 so I know these special times can be hard but with your family, you can get through it. I wish I had a family like yours. I love that portrait of Aurora after my mom passed away. I found mine that I gave to my mom when I was about her age.
For me it’s been 32 years and 24 without dad. Sometimes it is ok and some times not
I understand how Aaron feels I have been through 10 years without my mom. And, its not easy and just remind yourself that she is so proud of you looking down from Heaven knowing that you do such good.

I send my love Aaron my heart goes out to you .I lost my mum and dad its hard im in the Uk weve had mum day she died suddenly in 2010 it still hits me, so i understand cry if you need to. Aaron never holds it in . She's always with you close in your heart ❤️ its difficult, but hold on yo happy memories. lol 😂 laughing at the birthday Mother’s Day card - happens to the best of us - my parents once bought me a “ Get well soon “ card for my birthday to which I called my mom up and asked if turning 4? is really that bad and she’s just warning me for the year ahead lol 😂 Happy Mother’s Day !
Aaron I completely understand your pain. I lost my Mom on 7/13/23. . So it was my first as well. My heart is so broken. I try to be ok when I am not.i spent the day with my Grandchildren but it was not the same as She was not there. I work so hard on not being sad but then something hits me and I just want to bawl. Grief is a journey and it is the price we pay when we lose those that we love. The one thing that is so neat about love is it never dies. We hold them in our hearts until we meet them again. Sending a hug from one broken heart to another.
