- It turns out that Henry Cavill, the one person carrying the show has left the show. Too bad. The Witcher season 2 was bad enough, but I doubt this show has many lifelines left. I wouldn't be surprised if they cancelled the show after Season 3. The Witcher Blood Origin really sucked as well. It's time we all moved on from new additions to the Witcher IP. The amount of ineptitude is astounding.
I feel really bad for Henry Cavill. The man deserves so much more, yet he gets thrown around like he's a C-tier actor. Consider this video my loveletter to the Witcher, Andrzej Sapkowski, and Henry Cavill. They all deserve so much more than what we got from this show.

the books gave it the essence, the games gave it a face plus the whole world visualized. Everything seemed set for translation, unbelievably they could still fak it up bigtime. Cavill is right, they deserve no pity.
It's crazy how many properties with a shit ton of potential have gone straight into "Netflix Hell".
The Witcher really could have been a top 10 show that only Netflix offered. But in the end it's only an okay fantasy show (other than Witcher Blood Origin which was actively bad).

death stranding is getting a movie adaptation. But they have so much material to work off with the game (literally a feature length film in cutscenes) I hope they can just do it justice. I don't get how Witcher failed with games, books etc. Even cyberpunk edgerunners did better and they only had some board games until recently.
They put on inexperienced writers and show-runners who are cheap to hire. If a product already has an audience, it's going to make money no matter who you put as the head, so might as well take some risks. The problem being that the team they pick to head the show don't have any love for the source material leading to failures, like The Witcher, Rings of Power, and Cowboy Bebop.

@@zakash613 I just hate that so much. Netflix has mutliple big IPs they could make a shit ton of money on. Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, The Witcher, etc. But they fumble it every time. Honestly I don't know how Netflix is still profitable at this point. They fumble pretty much every big IP they get on their platform, and it's not like they got those IPs for free
Oh gosh I LOVE Death Stranding sooo much. Thankfully, Hideo Kojima should play a major role behind the scenes on the movie, helping to make it as authentic & true to the lore of the game, as possible. 🥹❤🎮 Hideo already knows what it feels like to not have complete control over the creative content he's labored on... and so I don't think he ever wants to have a repeat of that again. I feel like the movie adaption should be pretty true to the world he's built, because of that. Can't wait to see how it all turns out. AND for the game's sequel!

Cavill just has rotten luck. I wouldn't say he was born to play Geralt but he was definitely born to play Superman and even though he played both characters, they just weren't up to par of what could have been. He was essentially robbed on both counts. What a fucking shame.
