Hiking Down Kelingking Beach | Nusa Penida
Vložit
- čas přidán 2. 10. 2018
- We traveled across from Nusa Lembongan to Nusa Penida, which was a 15mins boat journey. From there, we spent the day on the island exploring the hidden gems. There are many things to do on the island but since we were limited for time, our first stop was at Kelingking Beach - wow wow wow!
Our second stop was at Angel's Billabong / Pasih Uug Beach. which was also pretty cool to see.

Unfortunately, for the rest of the vlog series, I have to put up with bad audio from my mic being destroyed :-( If you don't know why, check out my last video ;-)
It’s not that hard of a hike down and up if you’re moderately active. We saw kids and their parents making it down and up when we did it. Definitely worth the view !
The camera does not do justice to how steep that climb is
Jason Cockcroft so true. im only 148cm and thanks god i had someone with me or else im definitely die on the way down 🤣
@@huhuhu1910 going down actually is not that bad (but its really hard) compare to going up. going down might takes 100% of your energy but going up is like 300%. i had to beg for water while going up because i drank all my water at the beach.
@@ugie8851 I had like three bottles of water when i went. I actually found going up easier as it was quicker less queues etc.
oooo I was here down one week later and now i totally can understand whole video :D thank you for this memory video for it because we didnt have enough energy to record it :D
Beautiful beaches very nice love it there beautiful place very clean place thank you for sharing your beautiful holiday there
Loved this video! Can't wait to go.
Omg the camera really doesn’t show how steep the climb was. I just was there one week ago and going down was so hard and scary, but going up was a little better and faster although we were rushing because we needed to be on time to go back to the catch the last boat that goes back to Bali because obviously we didn’t want to stuck in that island.
But it was totally worth it. That was the most memorable places that I went to during my Bali trip. Nusa Penida Keling King forever will take a special place in my heart
how long is the hike going down and up?
1 hour down.
When you said it was going to easier towards the beach I laughed 😂 on the plus side you did it at the right time of day 🙌🏾
such a good video, thanks for detailed trip to these amazing places!
The Kelingking Viewpoint is super touristy now. I guess it blew up after all those IG posts. I'm here now and there are really long lines just to take pics from up above. Go early to miss the crowds. We went around 2pm and it was super crowded. The way down is easy, just wear shoes. I did it in 15 mins. Worth the climb down if you're going to chill on the beach for a while.
You guys rock... keep up the great work 👍
Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Wow amazing video Carl. U made it. Awesome
Recently visited klinkeing beach, moderate task to go down beach but an excellent experience of life time just loved it
Just climbed down about 3 months ago. Holy moly it was steep. Rocked it going up BUT DOWN I was so slow. You EARN your beaches in Bali and out islands. So worth it. Diamond Beach was a tad easier and just as beautiful.
P.S. don’t wear flops. I did it barefoot, get “ hot feet” but way safer.
Awesome location .......... so beautiful. Definitely should be worth all the effort.
OMG, only 29 seconds into the video and I'm enjoying you lad! Very entertaining!
haha thank you!
Indonesia is a beautiful country. It has more than 18000 islands that offer you millions of different wonders of mother nature. We at @t just love Indonesia.
Our world is beautiful. We should adore it, love it and take care of it.
We been there the day before yesterday. Now they finally have a better way down, still not perfect but they tried at least. 😅😅😅 what you did there is crazzzyyy
Outstanding vlog, Bali might be our next destination.
I went there a few days ago. I also hiked to the bottom!! it was crazy and very beautiful at the same time. The view from the top was bomb! and the beach was also incredible with very bright sand and crazy wave!! Love this video
Hey is it safe to go down there, is it worth taking so much risk?
Mubashira Fahad Actually the way to the bottom was very rough and steep. But, it was not very hard for me... if you are a curious person like me and dont mind being tired and everything, you will definitely feel satisfied!👍🏻 the view from the top was very unreal and ofcourse the bottom was even magical (for me). 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌🏻
Top job. Really well done getting down those rotten stairs to the beach. The walk back up looks pretty bad though. lol. I love your drone shots.
When you do not expect that scare moment. Fakkk all in the dark here, scary as fk right now omg
I'm from indonesia...i really like this vlog..awesome 🙂🙂😍😍😎😎
What a nice video. Love it a lot....
My daughter and self went there but we did not trek as our guide recommended not to do . We did not do , but my daughter trek down the Angel beach. She really enjoyed. Worth the visit

Quality of the video is getting better and better. Nice vlog
Appreciate the feedback! 🤗
Carl Hewlett great video what time of year were you in Bali?
Omg....epic place...
Cool movie!
My question how did you made it up? I thought I’ll collapse because of climbing and I thought I got a heat stroke 😅.. but I’m still alive 😁💪🏼
It's wonderfull place of nusa penida
I visited the popular tourist points on west Nusa Penida in November 2019 (LOW season). On arrival to those places, we saw 100+ minibuses, each carrying 5 - 6 tourists. Forget everything about "hidden gems", "secret beaches" and "last paradise" that you might have read about on youtube. Sorry, you are yeeeaaars to late. The nature is still spectacular, but expect to share it with lots of others. If possible, try to do your trip early in the morning to avoid the hordes that will arrive around noon (specially for Kelingking Beach). Warning for bad and narrow roads on the island.
I think 2019 was a all time high in term of tourism there. I went at the end of august this year and it was not that crowded. Airline prices were still high (we got lucky) but I expect next year to be more crowded
Glad you try
I was gonna go on that same beach but we ran out of time so I was really pissed 😂
I ve been there. Its really paradise. Nusa penida island
Haha yeah we lost our running shoes in Thailand. We only went part way because we have already gone up and down a steep climb on the other side of the island by the treehouses 😂
It was hard for me to go down, come back from middle in 2018.
Wow!!
Nusa Penida Island is very beautiful like heaven and don't forget to visit our inn Sari Garden Cottage
Hi thank you for your vids! It is difficult to go down and how much time you spend to go and return ? thank you
Waooww awesome paradise Nusa penida go to internasional
Amazing.. What time did you arrive at kelingking Beach? Till what time are there only a few tourist?
Nice adventure
I live in Nusa Penida, and i’m from bali brother
Nusa penida is GEMS of bali
Did that hike last month in the blazing afternoon sun and it was a son-of-a-bitch. So tiring. I was never scared because I was too focussed on how exhausted I was. What made it worse was the people coming up and then you have to stand there sweating waiting for the stream of people to go buy. Of course going up was even worse but at least I waited until late in the day (5pm) and by then the sun had gone behind the clouds. If that hadn't happened I'd still be trying to climb out of there. It was a beautiful beach though. Waves were pretty deadly. One smashed my head into the sand, bent my neck backwards and tumbled my legs over my head. That gave me a nice headache for the rest of the day.
Anyway, thank God there were guys selling drinks on the beach. They charged a lot and people complained ($5 for a large water) but you have to evaluate it using supply and demand. Demand is high and they were the only supplier. They had a monopoly. Plus you have to compensate them a lot for doing that brutal hike down every day carrying a pile of drinks and then climbing back up carry what they didn't sell plus the empty plastic containers. You couldn't pay me enough to have to do that hike every day.
i went down with flip flop and a day after mount batur hike, haha, bearable but not advisable to those not fit.
now im having fever and aching few days after arriving my home country 🤣 🤣 🤣
I think you miss 1 hidden cave at the corner for his beach, it's very beautiful
which side is the cave at? and how to reach it?
I saw this place on TV tonight and was thinking, "How the heck to you get there?" And then, you have to climb back up before the tide comes in. Beautiful, but one would have to be in really good health and shape to do that hike up and down.
I visited this place last week and I sh*t my pants when I saw the track. Kudos to those who made it down to the beach. 😂
awesome, quick question, what month of the year did u visit these beautiful places/beaches? please advise what month should I book for a trip there? thanks
We went during the month of June (low season). Even though it's considered rainy season it's a matter of luck but it's also not as crowded during the high season which is December / January time. Tbh anytime is a good time in Bali 🤷🏻♂️
FYI. July - August, December is peak season, it's school holiday in Indonesia.
6:50-6:51 best moment of the vlog :))
I was afraid
look super beautiful, unfortunetly it is impossible for me to get down there, because i lost my right foot due to ancident
hey great video.. had a question.. how long did it take to get down & get up?
Yeah I'm also thinking about the time😁😹
Climbed down that slope...trust me it’s worth it. But the roads to reach this place are crazy....there is road between the potholes. Climbing up the slope is rock climbing with bamboos not ropes.
Nice
Hey wow that looks scary, we have two kids aged 14 and 11 we were planning to go with, do you think kids can do this?
Just watch your video...and it is beautiful and interesting...subs and like for sure! ;-)
So how many people actually fall when making this trip to the beach?
Best part: who the hell carry that things here?
really amazing view
I didn’t find it difficult at all
Coming back up that climb. I had two girls in front of me hiking up in thong bikini. Didn’t even notice being tired at all😆
Lol
I can imagine why you were not tired at all..🤣
Ew gross

Bummer about your mic bro! But great footage!
How long was the hike? 1 hour??
good editing! love the vid
very nice..
how long will it take to climb down and up?
Asked the same question in 2022 and no reply yet!
It will take around 45-50 mts to reach down & 1 hr to climb up .
What time was this? It’s surprisingly empty
We arrived on Nusa Penida around, 7/8am, by the time we got to Kelingking beach, it was around 9 or 10am. We were pretty lucky to just miss the crowd!! 😆
How long was the climb down and up?
Around a hour
8.00 was tat fire behind
Kelingking is just discovered and tourists are just finding it out
Just came back from there, went around 1pm lots of tourists taking pics at the top, but not many people down the bottom of beach.
all that to swim in the shade ??
6:51 😱
How long it took you to get down and then also way up?🙈
😱😱😱

That's quite daring. So how much time did it take downhill and uphill?
1 hour down, 4 to 6 stops
1.20 ups, 10-15 stops + regret
@@azree Thanks. Regret why?
U make me heart attack lol
How much is the ferry to nusa pendia from lembongan??
About 300000 i guess
Its too risky..it should be updated and safe now..
I did this hike too and I couldn't understand how ppl don't get accidents there, authorities should somehow make it safer
Oh! That's fruit we called that "Bulobituon" or in english "like a star" it is a fruit that helps my mom to heal her breast cancer in early stage. Her breast doesn't become cancerous because of that fruit. Now my mom is ok after her left breast was taken out.
Waow very beautiful beach 👍👍👍👍🙏

Hi! how long did it take to get down/up?
Holly Gano 45 min- hour to get down but made it up in 30min. Great work out with a beautiful prize at the bottom.
@@scubachick2651Chick - cool thank you! It looked like hours. We may head there in December. Not sure if we will be able to descend though as its rainy season.
Holly Gano oh boy could not imagine the topography wet yikes. Probably a VERY SCARY mud slide huh? LOl. Bummer
How much time it will take to come down??
And again ho much time it take when you go up again😅😅
going down might takes 30 - 40 minutes but going up might takes 1 hours. its crazy. really crazy but beautiful. great experience.
@@ugie8851 then shall we go down or not😅😅
@@utkarshdavid2430 to be honest its not for everybody. when you go down, doesnt mean you can swim because the tides / waves are crazy. i almost got drag into the sea just by sitting at the beach. plus my backpack (my extra cloth, pants, even phone) are ruin because the tides is too strong. going downhill might takes 100% of your energy, but going up might takes 300%. if you looking for a challenge, yes please go down. but i would like to stress you please bring a lot and lots of water. going up is no joke. i saw people fainted trying to go up. but its a great experience, beautiful scenery and very tiring.
Was that banana "heart"?
It's Keben Fruit, Keben (Barringtonia asiatica) is also known as "Pohon Perdamaian" means Peace Tree.
