40 year old music. Goth never dies.

Being goth is often misunderstood as a superficial fascination with darkness, exemplified by devil worship or excessive makeup. However, the essence of goth culture is much deeper and more nuanced. It is a poetic exploration of the human experience, with a particular focus on life's inherent pain and sorrow. This perspective is not about glorifying suffering, but rather about acknowledging and understanding it as a fundamental part of our existence.

Goth and Shoegaze are simply the best music ever made in the humble opinion of this 62 year old Brit who still loves discovering new bands every week. God Bless the late and Great British DJ John Peel for educating me so I was not brainwashed to only like what the mainstream dictated.

This is the exact same stuff we used to listen to in the 1980s.

  • @soakedbearrd

Im in my mid 40s and I mostly missed goth in my childhood/teens, but I did listen to some synth pop. My cousin recently put me on to killing joke, souxie and banshees, and cure, and I’ve been digging the post punk/goth/dark synth vibe. Thanks for this list.

I'm not goth but I found this and I'm listening.

  • @ALTERNATIVEMIXTAPES

I love this channel because it’s about quality artists. Not just putting something out there for the sake of being new. Carefully selected tracks. I like just about everything I’ve heard on this channel. Glad you’re back!

  • @robfletcher8353

Love Riki, Kaelan Mikla, Minuit Machine, Pixel Grip, and Ritual Howls. I'm old enough to have been a fan of Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Siouxsie, and The Cure back in the day.

  • @IanCrouse

I'm a metal head but Goth has also been a part of my upbringing. I am excited to see DARK make this list. They are my goto for writing. Their model 'Lilith' is a muse of mine. Love this channel.

  • @pedromedrano4200

Being a goth since the early ninties and not even realizing it, this compilation brought back memories of my lonely life. 😊😊😊 I wouldn't change any of it.

  • @wintermoonomen

Goths never die, they just fade to black.

  • @drmjconsulting3292
