    SCREAMS. i know this is old but i'm not just seeing it. i opened the park, IOA and i was a "veterinarian" actor for triceratops encounter, Cera, Topper and Chris. Aw I miss those horned fools. ANYWAY, it really did break down constantly, mostly after we pushed the urination button and water would mess up the animatronics. which apparently i was told at the time cost a million dollars each to make, some parts coming from nasa. not sure if i believed that. i remember opening the park to VIP's actors, studio heads, etc and i got to spiel for steven spielberg. IT WAS AMAZING, i mean until the triceritops broke down in front of him. awwwkward. eh, at least i got to touch them and pet them lol. it's too bad they couldn't make the attraction work. instead i was sent as an actor to the baby raptors who hatched out of the eggs. RIP Chris, Cera and Topper. you're missed.

    • @divaducks
      @divaducks Před 7 lety +18

      no, sadly i don't. i pretty much left a year after IOA opened to go back to school and work my dream career, but i never regret working there and a lot of my friends still work there. what would you like to hear? during one part of the attraction, we asked for a volunteer to come up and pet the triceratops, but it had to be a child. we would fix the gate to have enough room for the child to pet the triceratops's nose and they would pet and while that was happening we had to push the button that made the triceratops sneeze water all over the child. it was kind of funny.

    • @DisneyMagicDreamer85
      @DisneyMagicDreamer85 Před 7 lety +14

      Aww! I thought maybe the dino sneezing would be great to watch! And I'm glad at least the kiddies got to pet them.
      No I happen to work at Universal now myself and I thought I could hear the story in person. But that's ok.
      Nowadays they have the Raptor encounter which uses a really cool velociraptor animatronic that can pose, bite, growl, call out and sounds just like in the film. They do mostly photo ops with the raptor and his 'trainer'. It's awesome to hear about the Triceratops though!

    This attraction was very special to me. They did in fact add a portion where guests were allowed in to interact with the triceratops. When I was little, before the first closure, I was very upset as I was not tall enough to be selected to go in the pen and interact. After the show the actor held my family back, and between shows let me have a one on one with the triceratops after turning it off as to make it safe for my small stature. Being a small child I was none the wiser and had an amazing experience. So sad to see it go. This video makes the attraction seem lame but I remember it being really impressive and immersive. Of course, I was a dinosaur loving child so maybe my imagination ran wild, but I remember it being cool

    These episodes are great. I'm new to the show tonight, but I don't know if you've done the Astrodome yet. I'll keep looking...

    Could you maybe talk about the original Hard Rock Cafe that was inside the Universal Studios Florida theme park? It's gone now but it was definitely abandoned for the longest time.

    Love this series! You should do one on the S.S. United States ocean liner!

    This one hurt... I remember seeing it for the first time when I was 11 (2001) and it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. Granted, sure, it was pretty simple. But for a kid my age at the time, who was a HUGE fan of the series, it was n awesome sight to see. I took my wife there June 2016, she had never been to Orlando and had always dreamed of going to all the parks. I was kinda geeking out waiting to show here this one. Buuuuut then I realized what took its place when I saw it. Wont lie, it was neat to see the Raptor and all. But the nostalgia hurt!

    I also remember this attraction as well when I visited in 2000. I also remember it not being much of anything.

    Aw man. I thought it had just been closed when I visited back in 2015.
    This was my favorite part of the park as a kid. I guess I saw it around 2001 or so. The triceratops sneezed on me, and, thoroughly charmed, i visited it at least a few more times before that vacation was over.
    Pretty sure I felt like it was an actual animal at the time.

    I snuck in there when I was younger. I saw this faint path and me being a curious kid followed it into that area
