I must say that I'm rather offended that you didn't bring up my comment on the bible, in the coming days of the polar bear revolution the first to go will be those who refuse to recognize the works of geniuses, oh the bears are coming we've used them for too long and now they're out for blood, this was all foretold in Billie Jean by Michael Jackson. When I'm building my spaceship to transport people to the moon to escape the bears I'll remember this, although once they take governments secret space lazors we'll all be dead anyway, but it'll be a sweet ass ride until then. Also read some damn Faulkner or Welty damnit.

I actually love Throne of Glass but I still recognize all the problems it has within. So it's very hard for me to understand why do people get so upset when someone doesn't like something they like (especially when it is pretty bad)? That's stupid. 🙈

I'm a disabled woman of color so that one comment was especially amusing lol.
And let's talk about Throne of Glass and diversity shall we? I read the first book and it was....ok, was going to read the 2nd book anyway because the 1 character of color in the book I really liked and was like well, Selena is a whiny annoyance but at least I have Nehemia to look forward to!
Read some spoilers for the 2nd book, saw that Nehemia wouldn't be in it for long and got really upset.
SJM doesn't leave diversity out of her books, she puts it in to tick a box, has it serve her purposes, then gets rid of it to right the stories she wants. Far worse than just leaving it out.
Sorry for the rant, that one comment just really annoyed me. Tbh all of the Throne of Glass comments annoyed me, the books are freaking terrible and blind faith fandoms piss me off.
I love both ToG and ACOTAR, but I agree with you on the diversity part. Blind faith fandoms are the worst; the ones who claim that their favorite author can do no wrong. Barf.

As someone who absolutely loves SJM and her books I do acknowledge that tog has absolutely no diversity. I don’t know why people think that everyone needs to love their favorite books. Tog and ACOTAR are some of my favorite books for very personal reasons and I can’t expect everyone to feel the same way. People can be so goddamn entitled I swear.

I was like: "What kind of hate comments does a book channel get"? And then most of them were the sort of things I would expect.
i love that existence of certain people immediately comes an issue of politics of people. not like we're actual humans worthy of human treatment ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
but seriously, here's what i love about this video: lots of times these videos are just trying to seem really unbothered. sure, lots of these comments are nonsensical and pretty funny, but some of them can sting and some of them really do affect those of us who get them. i like that you and your friends actually react to them, feel things towards them, respond to them with more than a sarcastic joke. it's refreshing to see a youtuber who has an actual reaction to these comments because i personally would do the same as this video rather than "brush it off". like, it's alright to be angry about them -- they're hateful comments!

I think I read 2 books last year, maybe 3 the year before, but since your video introduced me to booktube (I think it was a harry potter one... Probably Ravenclaw) I've read 29 books in 2018!!!! I think all of these haters are people who just don't have an idea of what is the main purpose of writing, it is not only to tell a story but to raise the voice for all the ones have been ignored, that is why I agree with your opinions about the lack of diversity or the flat female characters of SJM, I think like all the book authors have some responsability with our society, we already live in a world full of hateful thoughts about everything is not "normal" and if you are going to write a book you cannot improve these kind of hateful and 18th century ideas, hence thank you Hannah for standing against those lack of diversity books and for not taking seriously those hidious comments.
