I was looking at my list of upcoming videos and noticed I didn’t have anything Christmasy. My wife Danielle pulled up this video from Tye Made It on Instagram and said “make me one of these.
So here we are.

It completes my Front Yard Christmas Decor! Thanks Honey!
You forget to mention the best part is it will store flat until next year :P Impactful décor without taking up the whole shed!
I did forget to mention that. Whoops
I like it. Never gonna do it, but cool.
Fair enough! Haha
That looks beautiful. Nice job.
Thank you!
That first bit of snow looked super cool. Great little tree idea, the store flat ability is super valuable too!
For sure, will make it really easy to pack away!
Great video! The tree looks really cool.
Thank you! I’m really happy with how it came out.
Have a lovely Christmas Schreiner family & the tree is very cool buddy 👍👍👍
Thank you! Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
I think you missed a slat…lol
Great job man looks awesome, especially with the light snow. Thanks a lot of cutting, and give it to you for persistence…😃
I very well could have, haha, I didn’t really feel like counting so I just math’d it out.
Thanks for watching!
Hello John,
very nice christmas tree idea. An ostentatious design from slats. congratulations. Merry Christmas. See you in 2022. stay healthy and happy.
Thanks Mehmet! You as well.
@@JohntheSchreiner 👌👌see you.
That's WAY classier than the outdoor tree I made last year. I sort of strapped some broomsticks together like a teepee. The kids like it, so fair enough. Anyway, I've just got my first mitre saw, so I reckon I'll give this one a go next year! It's beautiful. Merry Christmas!
You should! Just be prepared for lots of cutting, haha. Merry Christmas!
Yaaay for Danielle! I am so glad you made a tree...it is gorgeous! A little complicated for diy...I guess that is why you did not say "DIY" in the title. And I like that this video is a current one, not a past project, right? Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year to you and your family!
Yeah my method is a little more on the complicated side. If you check out TyeMadeIt’s video, he did the slats a different way that could be a bit more DIY friendly.
And yes, current project. Started, finished, and published within the couple weeks.
Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
Danke für deine Antwort Wünsche Dir ein Gutes Neues Jahr und bleib Gesund Gruß Franz vom Chiemsee
Wie Stark ich Die Gewindestange ? Würde mich Interessieren Danke 👍
I went with a 9/16” threaded rod, but in hindsight I would probably bump that up to 3/4”, the tree is a little wobbly.
Happy new year and health to you as well!
Hi, thanks for the video. The Christmas tree 🌲 looks really good. Can i know the dimensions? Thanks and congratulations from Italy 👋
Hello from Canada 👋
I had the base of the tree at 30” (0.75m) wide, and the tree ended up being around 72” (1.8m) high.
Ciao and thanks for the reply. I also wanted to know how wide is the tree at the base and at the point. I mean only at the base because at the point is the smallest possible :-)
For the slats, I believe I started them at 30” long as well, and reduced each one in length by 1/8” (around 3mm) until they were down to 2” (50mm).
@@JohntheSchreiner thanks. I'll try to do something similar 😊
No problem! Enjoy!
Hallo kannst Du mir Sagen wie Breit und wie Stark die Bretter sind Gruß Franz vom Chiemsee 👋

I imagine fanning out the tree was enjoyable
Yeah it was quite satisfying, haha
That poor jig!
The result was pretty sweet, but man that was A LOT of work... 😅
I think I found the measuring and drilling centre the most time consuming actually. Cutting really only took as long as it did because I wasn’t sure how many boards I would end up using so I kept having to stop and cut more at the table saw, haha
@@JohntheSchreiner The strips were pretty thin, so you didn't make it easy for yourself... 😅
Probably not, lol
