Heyo! Mitch and Day here 👋🏼
We’re just your typical American-Colombian couple determined to live every second of our precious time here on earth to the fullest. After a 10-month solo backpacking trip through South America, I (Mitch) stopped in Cali, Colombia to take salsa dancing classes 💃🏻. I only planned to stay for a couple weeks, but God had other plans for me. I met a cute Colombian girl (Day) in class, those couple weeks turned into a couple years, and before we knew it...we were married 👰🏻🤵🏼
Now we’re traveling the world full time as digital nomads, supporting ourselves by working online 👨‍💻👩‍💻
Our goal with these videos is to inspire you to step outside your comfort zone, give you an inside peek at our crazy imperfect lives, and show you that you don’t have to be rich to live an extraordinary life...all you need to do is make the choice!

I decided to go with a carryon backpack and a 25L day backpack which I wear on my front when I have both. I went with PackSafe for the peace of mind w/all their security features. It’s more to lug around BUT so far it’s worth the extra space for me bc I hike a lot so having hiking boots plus a pair of running shoes (bc I’m also an avid runner) that I can second as a daily shoe was super important. This also allowed me to put my heaviest items (for me that was my laptop and my toiletry bag) in my personal item bag which they don’t usually weigh. I wear my hiking boots bc they also weigh more and this way I have more space in my carryon. One item I didn’t pack but wish I had is laundry detergent sheets which I thought would be easier to find once I got abroad but so far not so much and I don’t want to buy a big liquid jug or even a big powder jug for obvious reasons so I’m still trying to figure that out. Open to suggestions.

That sounds like a smart and logical setup! I originally left on this longer trip with the idea of one bagging, but I quickly realized that there weren’t many instances where I didn’t prefer separating my laptop into my daypack. So now I do something similar to you (except my daypack could theoretically fit in my carry on if I wanted it to for some reason). We normally just find the smallest bag of laundry detergent powder possible when we arrive. And even if we end up having to buy a bigger one, it’s usually only a couple bucks and we just leave the extra behind (or maybe you could carry a smaller bag to carry a little extra in for emergencies). I guess it also depends on how fast you’re traveling 😇

I just tried to find it on Amazon, but for some reason I couldn't find it anymore. I wonder if they got in trouble because their design is so similar to the Roost brand, which is more expensive. Here's the link to their direct website though: bit.ly/48lP8mm (affiliate link)

Love your channel, Mitch. I did a 40 day Euro trip last Fall with my Osprey Waypoint 70L bag (all by train). It was great and not so great. I’ve had it ten years and used it several trips to Europe and SE Asia as well as domestically. The great part is the convenience, the not so great is that I am now 72 and it was not as easy to carry as when I was 62!!! 😂 I’m leaving next week for another month in Europe and taking a 26” Level8 case. I’ll be doing rail travel again and have decided to just slow down and hoping “merrily we ROLL along”. Even though this is a BIG case, I still am being very careful to not overpack. I wish I had a 20-22” roller but I’ve waited too long to change course. 17 Feb 24

I think I have the same Waypoint bag! I loved that bag when I was backpacking around Central and South America - especially since I barely ever took flights back then. I can definitely understand why you decided to test out the roller though - let me know how it goes!
