- I've been living in the Philippines for the last 3 months and in this video I talk about my experience as a foreigner living in the Philippines!
I go over both the good and the bad of living in Manila, Philippines from my own experience.
I hope you enjoy me sharing my experience as a foreigner in the Philippines, and I hope you take the good and the bad on the chin - it's all just my personal opinion.
In the video I wander around BGC in Manila and share my thoughts on living in the Philippines being from the UK.
I also share my background and why I speak a bit of tagalog as a foreigner.
Lastly we visit Shake Shack - it's been a while!

I agree with you about the bad driving in the Philippines. What I hate is, they DON'T stop despite the fact that they have TIME to stop. Many a time, I scream at them, which for the people there is rather taboo. Still, overall, I'm planning to live my last phase of life. You are right about Scotland being limited with extra curricular activities but I love Sterling. Edinburgh? small! boring. The last time I drove to Scotland was in 2010 from Cumbria. I do like the Scottish people. It was always pleasant talking to the locals there. I learned to appreciate the accent and understand what they're talking about. Cheers Craig from Spain! Same in the UK, I tried to open a bank account since my British husband had a Barclays bank account for decades. Because I wasn't a resident, they wouldn't allow me. Try going to Greehills Ortigas Eastwood City Newport City and there are a dozen new cities being built on scratch. Check out the reclaimed area where SM MOA is located. That place is 90% developed and it's really nice. They will have a soft opening of a new (just another day at the office kind of thing in that country) called ParQual and it looks lovely. IKEA the biggest in the world can be found there, adjacent to SM. Enjoy!

The success of your blog is due to captive audience who enjoy reading and watching your presentation in a manner that they understand you. If you're in other country where people does not read and write English, your blog will fail..That's my own observations because you have local audiences who are active in social media plus knowing that the country is text capital of the world. If you notice, most of those making comments are not from the country but rather those who are influenced by your content to come to the country. The locals subscribing are focused on the visual content of your presentation as well as the narrative that goes along with it which is supportive and informative to the local audience. The locals are captivated by the places you've visited in the video which they will never get a chance due to their economic standing. Just be grateful to them just like me I'm grateful to learn of many places to explore there when I'm located from the distance and anxious to see the next days videos you post. Just making my observations of the reason so many bloggers are successful in the Philppines that's because you have a captive audience of English speaking, reading and listening subscribers. Good luck and make the content always interesting.

New sub here. Visiting the craft beer places at Forbes makes for good nightlife I think. So glad you are staying in Manila for a while there's so many nearby interesting road trips aside from flights - the hot springs of Los Baños, beaches of Cavite, Batangas and Puerto Galera, campsites of Tanay, Rizal. Seven lakes of Laguna, the cool mountain cities of Tagaytay, Antipolo and Baguio, Surfing in Baler and La Union and so much more. Enough material to vlog for a lifetime for sure!

It is always good to give your opinion and point of view with your actual experience and that does not mean you don't like to live there but rather to find a solution or suggestion on how to improve things like transportation system and the like. Truly amazing to see vloggers showing how welcoming the Philippines is. Take care and travel up north or the south of the Philippines.

You can try to visit Batanes. It’s said to be the “Scotland” here in the Philippines. It’ll be nice to see a real Scot go visit Batanes 😊😊😊

You need to try visit Batanes, it’s a Scotland of the Philippines, but the only thing is that, Batanes has a beautiful beaches and scenery, has blue water and green mountains
The most unpleasant things in the Philippines as a filipino is poverty itself... I wish and pray for my countrymen to be more courageous and resilient... God bless 🙏 ❤❤

I’m here from Los Angeles california and I am staying in Antipolo with my GF for the 3rd round compared to LA its very different but The Country needs to make alot of Changes especially the outdated Divorce annulment process so the People can be free from past failed marriages. Also the way people drive and walk

i been to American Major Cities and European Cities but as i visited BGC i was blowned how organized, well planned, developed and ultra modern BGC really is. LA, CHICAGO , MIAMI and even NEW YORK is nothing to compare to BGC . for example LA when i lived there i saw alot of poverties, slums, tents along the streets where homeless people lived the roads smells pee and alot of crimes and very unsafe LA is one of the rixhest city in the world but looks 3rd world City.
You compared a small area of one city (BGC is a district in reality within Metro Manila) to whole cities..
The frequently burping grab driver is probably sick with acid reflux or GERD. Well, enjoy your stay in the Philippines. Have a wonderful and blessed day.

You can go north, to baguio sagada. Or go south quezon and bicol provinces. You can note the difference from north and south cities
Can't really make a judgement unless you visit some of the smaller islands, too. Remember: Philippines isn't just Luzon. It's also inclusive of the 7000+ other islands around the area where life is a lot different.

The Philippines has still lots of things to do. It's a middle income country, a developing one. Metro Manila subway is under construction. More railways are being constructed to ease the transport woes. New airports and bridges are also under construction. In few years, the landscape and economy of the country would be better.

philippines is best investment if your planning to put bussiness
Any downtown in any planet on earth is a bubble man, you people need to realize that first and foremost, and any massively modern development in any country on earth is a bubble also even moreso; it is a moot point to try to make, if the entire Philippines looked like BGC, that would be a dystopia for sure; I wouldnt want to live there.
BGC is more fancier than 90% of western American Cities also far more safe and clean even if i compare paris, london or any european Cities it still nothing has compare to BGC , BGC is far superior and much more developed in the world.
You can also climb down your high horse. It's gonna be better for all of us.

BGC is more like where the elites are thus more expensive! Makati is more reasonable I would say! Tried Milano condos heard it's a great deal there! Careful around Poblacion maybe Chinatown area is better!
On the opening of bank accounts, have you tried International Banks? Or the big 3 in the Philippines?

Baguio is a safe Place I've only Visit
It's extra hot in the Philippines and one way to not sweat a lot is to avoid wearing dark colored clothes ! Black colored and synthetic fabrics are not really for the heat !
