😂😂😂 rappers are irritating all over the world. One dude told me he wanted a custom exclusive FREE beat that i couldn’t upload to spotify or youtube. He was going to pay me with exposure from his 3 monthly listeners.
This made me laugh
This is some stupid ass shit. So all rappers are like the dumb ass rapper you know. Maybe you’re the problem attracting shitty ass rappers
Lol
It's so accurate it hurts
Thats when u just stop replying 😂
First video on beat selling that made sense. Thanks Adam, can u do a whole short series like the whole foundation and how to set it up?
Very insightful as always Adam. Love your videos!!
I'd love to hear more about building an email list. Thanks for this info Adam! I hadn't thought of selling my instrumental pieces this way.

Thanks for the game brother 🙏
Hello again Adam! I'm watching your video for a second time. (And taking even more notes)
You really share A LOT!
Thank you again and again, I really appreciate you!
This was actually the first real truthful information I've ran across...I'm a producer beatmaker...and I'm trying to figure out my catalog...and I'm a monster at beatmaking . I can pump out 12 a week...but trying to figure out how to monetize them has been a beetch...lol. and you gave me a solid place to figure it out. Appreciate it... now I have got to go sit outside Best buy and kidnap me a geek to handle the promo social media and tracking...sigh..😏😉 and to organize everything. ROFL and to be videographer so I can get seen😢😮. Iam a distrokid member as well....so we keep good company. ❤❤❤
This is why u the goat bro
Thanks for the good Tips😉🔥
This is totally genuine and on point
I’ve definitely narrowed down the audience . Thanks for the video
Thank you so much for your insight. I did not know you were in the beats business. I became a true fan today, notification bell on. I am eager to apply this information. You confirmed my intuition and also provided new nuggets of knowledge.

Precisely! 🎯
Leasing a couple beats around that price range helped me out, just a couple sales but making progress!
I love you man ❤
Adam you're a legend
Good shit bro, can you def make a video on how to create marketing emails for clients? I’m a new producer just starting out in the game, so any info is like gold for me
this is such a fire video bro it shouldn't be free. Goated.
Appreciate that!
Great video! Thank you 💚🎉
You are so welcome!
Brilliant!! : )
Made beats almost my whole life in private and never sold any coZ I wanted them to sound like so and so's beats. I wanted them to be perfect so they can not be rejected or criticized.my desire for perfection was the death of me. My advice is put ur self out there and practice ur craft stop comparing ur self to other people. Ur beats are not dat bad.just do it
Well said.
Gemz 💎
You're 💯 on what you have said. Only you can speak for your brand. If you're not excited about your music, how can someone else be. Btw Adam, I love your new setup and video editing.

Email marketing video would be fire 🔥
Adam funny and educating at the same time.💯💯💯
Finally someone who actually thinks I’m funny! Thank you!
Hey Adam, would definitely like to see a video on lead capture, lead magnets, and how to build an email list. Maybe compare your preferred email marketing tools as well. I was looking into Mailchimp and Mailerlite etc but I think you'd do great shedding light and explaining things. Thanks.
Yes Adam, please do that lead capture , lead magnets, how to build an email list video like you mentioned in this video (and yes, after I hit 'Comment' I will go search, myself, for this on your channel since I see this video was from 4 months ago... btw Thank you for this particular piece of content as I feel its helping me immensely).
Thank you Adam, I need to rewatch later with a note pad, I’m thinking my ‘beats’ are actually going to be my courses that I’m in the process of writing, maybe I do both… uggh mini heatwave here in Australia, maybe my brain’s overheated 🥵
Appreciate your content mate🙌
Hey Adam. Watch this 👊🏼
Thanks Adam ❤❤❤
Ur an angel 🤗
AMAZING!
Great Video Can't wait to be swimming in mulah
You are awesome ....
You are so right about that 45 minute beat selling quicker than the one that took a week or two...
Hey Adam, this is one more excellent video. I'm really grateful for your advices, thank you so much! Do you have any experience selling sound tracks for videogames or movies? Would the approach to market/sell them be more or less similar to selling beats?
When it comes to getting your music into videogames and movies, that's called sync licensing and I would recommend looking up Michael Elsner. He's the king of sync.
@@adamivy Thank you so much!
Great video! Please do the email list video!
Ait buddy, thank you for the awesome content and dedication.
I do have a questions in regards to this subject.
First and foremost:
01. Where do you find the "people" you wish to message in regards to selling your beats.
(Most of the time when searching for certain hash tags on Instagram or X, or I get is bots, randoms , and people trying to sell you something)
Adam I've heard the release on DSPs advice a couple of times specially focused on protecting your copyright and I'm wondering how does it works with leasing, I mean how does it works when the artist uploads to DSP does he get any kind of trouble
great video btw 🙏
please drop that Lead Magnet email marketing video cause it'll be the only music focused one on yt
Had to watch twice to soak up the game
❤ good video as always. You should make another one about PROs. I find it hard to find a company that will collect my royalties
Hard in what sense there are only 3 and one of them is invite only
@@sontwisted Well... in the USA maybe, but what about people from other countries? And what if I pick a PRO in my home country but my tracks are used in the USA? Do I need different company for the different country? Or maybe the PROs communicate between themselves and I will have no problem getting my royalties and if so how much will I get...? Will it be split between me, my home country PRO and the PRO in the USA? What if I want to change my PRO, how will that work? Are there any things in the contract I should know beforehand? What happens if someone uses my track but I don't have a PRO before that? Will I be able to get my royalties? etc.
I’d love a video on doing email lists
Thanks for the feedback. I'll start working on one.
Just started my channel last week, had 4 free downloads that have been tagged. Made me happy thinking that someone actually downloaded it,you saying that those that download the free tagged ones actually come back and to buy the license?
Hey Adam, I have a question. You said you make about 5-8 beats per week. How long do you lease every beat/instrumental?
How long? What do you mean by that
Hello Adam! 🤝 Very informative video! Cool effects and funny too!
I love the sound of a tre23 medium classic chime and want to add it to my gear. ⛵
I appreciate you for generously sharing your hard earned knowledge and experience! 💪🧠♥️
Just starting out doing beats...
Would love to get input on if I've got any potential with what I've done so far 🤔
My particular niche I've started in atm is Hip-Hop...
Willing to branch out however I have to. I wanna learn!
Your spreadsheet = CRM 🔥
Exactly!
I would really love to add a Neumann U87 to my studio
Yeah I need to see a video on email list for type beat channels.
My channels doing well, sales every few days, subs going up, I want to capitilise and grow it to the moon right now
Reminds me of my Dskillz days
I know there is no audible difference in a $5,000 beat lease and a $20 beat lease and only difference is the budget of the rapper buying it
Don't forget the perks of different leases. Streams and album sales limitations, how many radiostation you allowed to play the beat at, how many music video you allowed to release. Also there is trackouts lease where you can separately mix the instrumets and WAV lease which is high defined than MP3. Aaand you can't lease the beat after it's sold exclusively 😂
3:44, about that. What do you do if you already are good in many genres? Do you try to engage by using different accounts? Do you approach it sequentially (approach x genre then approach y genre etc)? Do you ditch the other genres and master your craft on the one that's hot right now? Do you try to create something new that combines all of the genres?
Pick one genre and only promote that when you have brand awareness then branch out with your back catalogue of other genres
YES IT ABSOLUTELY IS
I am more getting into the sync side of music production but as an artist and producer. I assume that this method with a bit of tweaking would be the same. Find Supervisors, As Agencies etc that want and need music, research and then make friends and pitch?
Yep that's how it works. I make music for tv. Research music production companies, ad companies, local businesses etc.
I'm in several libraries because of research and networking.
Hey, does this work the same with orchestral music?
Might be a stupid question, but should you copyright your beats before leasing/selling them?
No one will start earning even 5k a month doing things you talked about, this things don’t lead to money. Other things lead to sales, and most often it depends on how good your instrumental is, and how well your videos adapt to CZcams algorithms, the rest is just secondary and not necessary. I speak from a personal experience. I’m just tired of people who not saying anything REALLY useful, but they yappin about making 100k from beats just to gain a lil views. Maybe you show us your monthly beat sales?
It’s pretty obvious that you have no idea what you’re talking about. Shoot me a message once you make your first $100k. I did over $800k doing exactly what I break down in this video and if you doubt it or want to disagree it’s purely your loss kid. I just think it’s funny that people who talk the loudest in the comments are the ones who are struggling the most and projecting their frustrations. God bless.
@@adamivy bet
can you talk a bit more about exclusive licenses? I always thought it was 100% ownership transfer to the buyer but I've just realised that it isn't, based on what you said.
Exclusibe just means that person is the only one who can record to that beat but you still own the copyright to that beat and are entitled to royalties when it generates money
Yes to a video on email
i am damn certain I have a specific sound. but the way i do it is really hard to go higher than 4 beats a months man. recording my won guitar, editting, doing sound design, having a unique arrangement.
its what drives me and keeps me motivated. but its fucking hard to up to mutiple beats a week man.
Sample yourself
If you lease a beat several times, wouldn’t an exclusive license not really be exclusive since other artists have that beat? I’ve recently been confused regarding this.
Hello! how can producer get royalties and if there are any companies producer can use to get royalties
I've music collection which is not created by me. Can I sell them anywhere online and get paid/ if yes then where?
Do you have a video that explains what “beats” are exactly? What qualifies as a “beat” that can be sold or licensed? Tia.
An instrumental
@@sontwisted thanks. So, like a whole finished instrumental of a song? Or just a verse and chorus worth? Does it need intros and outtros?
@@CD-wp8fcwhatever you like it just should have space for vocals and be mixed properly
How do you find sounds to use in your beats (808s, kicks, pads etc), but without copyright. I wanna make profit off of music, but im worried about copyright and that stuff.
you can't copyright an 808 or kick, so dont worry about that. Cymatics is good
I have 7 instrumentals and not all of them are hip hop/rap style. Where can I sell instrumentals from a variety of genres?
BeatStars or AirBit
That's what I do I make birdhouse music tunes to play in your birdhouse
facts
How long on average was your instrumental?
how can i build a relationship? what are things i can talk about/ text them?
👍
I play guitar sing and produce songs, beats, and backing tracks.
But how do you message rappers and build your list? When you reach out to work with someone they expect it to be for free because you’re the one who reached out to THEM?
How do you do the status part?
How can you post beats without having people steal them?
What if you are in a city or state that isn’t very music driven or doesn’t have a music scene?? I’m in Louisiana, and the music scene is very dry here, there’s barely any artists and studios
With the internet none of that matters especially if you’re in a first world country.
@@adamivy Ok! Thank you for responding 🙏🏾
So, WHERE do I sell beats? I would think that would have been included in this???
I mentioned BeatStars in the video.
can we download the excel sheets?
I just started posting my tracks on SoundCloud then shared them on social media and got no feedback. Probably the worst decision ever made. 🤦🏾♂️
17:22 !!!
Mic drop 😂
please do an email video was just telling my self i need to learn it
Please do email list video Adam
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll get that on the list.
I put the nonexclusive Beat lease prices on 8 beats I put on beatstars at $5,000 because I don't even want some bullshit ass rapper to lease a beat that can't even put gas in their car if they even even have a car at all. I figure if a rapper or singer has $5,000 for a beat then they probably are serious enough to have a promo budget
Well that’s certainly one way to go about it.
What the hell is a “beat”?
