their music this year shouldve allowed them to achieve much greater things, but the recent single just did not respond well to many fans. i think roller coaster is a perfect song (just too short + shouldve been the title), while party oclock is awkward and has a distracting, horrible rap verse. if they keep up with the red velvet cosplay (love me like this), then they'll definitely find themselves in the good graces of the public

i felt 2023 had so many comebacks at once and i couldn’t have time or energy to listen to them and just forgot about it. i still haven’t listened to comebacks from january and we already almost done w the year😭

itzy has kinda been making childrens music this whole entire time… but at least it was like fun at the beginning. it got weird when they had an adult moment and then after that suddenly became more infantile than ever.

i feel like a lot of kpop groups have an identity crisis bc they make an identity for themselves and then think they have to shake it up for some reason. but they literally dont even have to do that. like yes change for the better but dont abandon everything that makes your group’s brand and sound recognizable. and then even if they fix it afterward, the vibes STAY weird. like we are not forgetting about what you just did there.

I actually liked half of Misamo's album (love funny Valentine) even if the bad songs were whatever. But what surprised me was Misamo's organic growth compared to TWICE Full group comebacks. Jihyo's solo like never happened while Misamo's song suddenly blew up a month after debut on it's own and thats wild to me.

oh definitely i think people are fed up with them and their comeback in a few years will only be relevant inside the fandom and nobody else will care
i always think they peak, and then they come back and reach new heights (mostly due to their large fanbase and chart manipulation tactics). and i think the same about other popular groups like blackpink and then they prove me wrong. but yeah for bts, i think this may be as good as it gets.
If you ask me, yes lol. Jungkook is the only BTS member so far that is not peak yet in term of relevance but that is also hard to say with the whole chart manipulation allegation going on.

that's not what i said. i said its not the main focal point as in its not the only thing considered for this video. right before that i literally say "this year was worst than the last. it hasnt been a good year for them" given how kpop stans move, you can still chart well and sell millions (manipulation and inflation) and be seen as unsuccessful. look at stayc last year. with nmixx, i also talked about how people didn't like the music released and how their trajectory wasn't what i thought it would be

-Taehyung has always had an identity for calm music and the layover album is totally him.
-None of the BTS members had a drop in the quality of their songs, but rather an improvement and growth as artists.

Theory: a good pre-release is mostly beneficial, but 2 is too much - at least if it's not spaced out more like in Western pop. I can't verify for now but the 2 groups that started it, ITZY and IVE, are kind of in a hassle with their concept now (yes, they both sell better than ever but the public and fans' opinion couldn't be further away). And I don't think it's only because of the unusual tt or the odd choice of pre-release (why would they both choose a slower song for a promoted release when those are always the ones that only get hardcore fans excited?), I've heard multiple fans behind exhausted and overwhelmed. So it's more about balance. While I actually like ITZY'S album (the more the people hate the new music, the more I like it although I never liked their old stuff😭), I think a promotion of Killshot would've really hit.
As for IVE, Off the Record was cute but they should've have had a real tt (Baddie sounds more like one of their b-sides), and then only one pre-release with Off the Record or Baddie (Baddie reminds me so much of Kitsch as a pre-release, badass and kinda different from their usual style. Would've been perfect.) They are doing really well rn with a real time PAK but let me tell you, this always comes falling down on groups in the next era. We will see next year but they just made a huge mistake. DIVE are surprisingly nice and not fighting over Baddie bc it does sound like a song IVE could've made as a b-side, but just the mv views are sad compared to After Like etc. (Even my nugu group did better like wth happened there -)
The other option is promoting a b-side after the cb like Le Sserafim and others, and then completely alienating everyone with 1479 remixes. Can't someone do it right so we see if it's actually a good marketing move?
